This is likely the only time in the next six years or so that I will be able to go (grad school won't start until October!), so I think I'll try to go. All I need is to figure out how I'm going to get there. What's public transportation like in Seattle?

Once you're there (assuming you stay in one of the hotels), everything PAX-related is within walking distance. Or do you mean you want to catch a bus up to Seattle?

I was just wondering if I flew there, would it be relatively easy to get to PAX/hotels etc.
Since otherwise, I'd have to drive. And that's a long drive. I think somewhere in the twenty hour range. I could do it, but only if I kidnapped my brother and stopped by to visit family on the way.

It's absolutely easy. It's about a 10 to 15 minute trip to the airport and all of us stay usually with in walking distance and it's about a 3 minute walk to the con from the main hotels.

Taxis are easy, and I think are about $40-50 from the airport to the city proper. There's also apparently an airport shuttle that goes to the major downtown hotels, $15 one way. Once you're near the hotels / convention centre you definitely won't need your own transport.
Holy crap, that was crazy fast. Three-day passes sold out, but I got me individual passes for all 3 days anyway. And a reservation at the Sheraton to match.

See you there!!
Weren't you at the Sheraton last time? I'm going to be at crowne again this year.
I won't even be on the West Coast due to work that weekend. X___X
Well, if it makes you feel better, this will probably be my last real vacation for the next six or seven years.
To the rest of the floor: What's a decent hotel that is also not too expensive? I found this somewhat inexpensive place with the most hilarious reviews. Kinda made me want to pay slightly more so I won't feel obligated to add to the review count. I'm okay with hard beds, small rooms, and no AC, but I draw the line at plumbing issues. And bugs.
I'm in a similar pickle, but plan to resolve that through the miracle of modern aviation.
I tend to try and reserve the use of the word "miracle" for things that don't require paying hundreds to get groped by overzealous security on your way to sitting in a small cramped space for a few hours.

As someone who's had ten different flights in the last three months, it ain't that bad.
I might be able to switch days with a coworker for one day to go to pax. I'd just need a place to stay for one nigh- wait now there's only sunday passes. Well I can come to visit you guys if I can get the day off?? I don't know. Buh.
People: Should I even try to make the effort to show up even for a little bit? You decide!

Well, supposing I can find a hotel room, you're welcome to stay with me if you need a place to stay.

As someone who travels on a non-US passport with a work visa and on her last international trip was randomly selected for additional security screening, I can confirm that at times it IS that bad. They stopped just shy of a cavity search. I agree that the "cramped space" ain't that bad though... certainly not for a few hours anyway.

Because lychee martinis impair my intellectual capacity, I accidentally got an extra Friday pass. I need to check with a friend first, but if he got his passes ok then you're welcome to have it gratis.
So Telltale didn't have a booth at PAX East this year...
Are they going to have one at PAX Prime?
They've never had a booth at East, but they have had one at Prime in each of the past few years, and run a panel session thing. Looks like Telltale just keeps getting bigger, so I'd say there's a good chance they'll have a booth.

Because Australia is clearly the number one source of terrorists aligned against the United States.

oh my gosh! thank you! both you and mortis!
wait wait wait
i didnt realize that pax and dragoncon were on the same weekend this year. whoops. Maybe we can all meet up someday some other time?
On a related note, if anyone bought a badge and finds out they can't go, or if anyone knows about anyone with an extra badge, Icedhope and I are trying to set up a friend of ours, and any help with that would be greatly appreciated, so keep us in mind between now and August if that comes up.

When is it this year?
Drat. Can't go again. Thanks for the info.

Edit: Scratch that. It cost me an extra $40, but I bought day passes for all three days.
That fast? Holy shit it's only been like 3 hrs...
See you there!!

Mmm... I might end up staying longer and being at the Hilton. These bookings are going crazy fast.
But either way - see you there!
Tremble in fear, people. Tremble in fear.

Holy crap, this is going to be epic.
So looks like me and GuruGuru get our Honeymoon suite.
Ooh boy, you betcha it is!

Every year I have gone to PAX PRIME they have had a booth. The make a scene panel is always great too.
Everyone knows it's Canada. Just ask the US border patrol, whom are constantly being taken to court.
