Bugs / Glitches (Listing)
POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!
Intro: When developers make a game, they don't always have the time to fix every little bug before submission. They also could never match the unadulterated power of thousands of people playing their game. They could hire 100 testers, have them test for 1000 hours and it would come to 100000 hours worth of testing. Now, if the game sells 100000 units and each person plays the game for 2 hours, that number of hours played is already doubled.
For that reason, I like to keep a tally of bugs I find during my play sessions. I try to document them on the developer forums to help the QA team and the rest of the developers to document the issues so they can be quickly identified and (hopefully) patched in the future. This, is that thread for "The Walking Dead". Please try and document any bugs you find with the game here in a CLEAR and CONCISE manner. Thank you.

When the player first reaches the drug store, Doug's hands are not touching the door he appears to be resting against. Please see screen shot.

It's much easier to see in motion. The video here makes it a little more apparent.

[Note]: This does not seem 100% reproducible. Very close though.
The hammer in Shawn's hand is strangely placed when asking him if he would like help building the fence in the Farm chapter. See screen shot.
I found some of the interactive elements a little less than intuitive.. for example (at the motel) there's a truck view you get in one scene where you have four directional movement options.. only two of them make any sense when you go that direction. Two of the arrows shouldn't even be there (when you look in the window). It took a bit of frustrated random direction changes to get a feel for where you actually had to make the character move to to get somewhere specific and move along the story.
The radio battery? if you get it and give it to the character that wants it.. They just kind of ignore it, unless you've done the rest of the scene in a specific order (I assume it had to work for playtesting, but it didn't work when I did it). I gave her the battery I found on a shelf, and then tried to talk to her when there was no apparent response. It offered the dialogue option of "Still looking for that battery for you" and I'd already found it and given it to her. So I guess I'll have to replay the game from that point and see if there's another order to do that in. (NOT A BUG.. there's another battery
The first aid kit.. when I first entered the room (not even knowing that the door to the pharmacy was in there until later), I was frustrated that my character had no apparent desire to take the first aid kit as an inventory item. Who would pass up a first aid kit during a zombie apocalypse?
Also, the energy Bars? At least some of them reappear if you collect them and then go do the motel Scene to get Glenn and return to that scene... I fed one to Clementine before I went on that mission, and when I returned, they were back again.
I wish there was a camera button of sorts.. it's really difficult to get any situational awareness of the scene when you only really see one side of a room at a time, and the delays/movement blocks mean that you have to walk around to really look around.
In the Farm location there's a series of wandering around and talking to people that you have to do, and apparently if you do it in a different order than expected.. Hershel doesn't go into the barn and you're somewhat stuck repeating dialogues and wandering around until you get the one that triggers his entrance. I was somewhat lost/frustrated by it.. but had to stop for lunch, and when I restarted the game, I redid that scene from the beginning (due to the last save point). I chose to do the conversations in a different order, and the character showed up.. surprising me at how fluid the experience was when I'd done it in the desired order.
I know it sounds like I'm badmouthing the game.. but I really enjoyed it, and just wish I had a way to offer constructive feedback for it without exposing "flaws" to the community for them to see before they purchase the game. I've been somewhat spoiled by being a moderator for another game company and being able to express play test issues directly to the developers sometimes before the content reaches the public.
sigh Look, the point of the game IS the dialogue. Literally everything else in the game is to add to the dialogue. I agree with the second paragraph. That bugged me on the XBOX version. You're supposed to find two batteries, by the way. There were clearly two open battery spots when you activated that. The first aid kit was just a prop to fix Clem's finger. Nothing more, nothing less. Plus, as time shows, there's never a use for it that the vet can't fix. The energy bars... That seems like an odd glitch. I agree with the camera button, but not using the right stick. Just a button to get different angles. I do like how cinematic it feels, though. Yeah, I've had that last problem before, too, though, when I went to Duck and Shawn first, then the girls and Kenny, Hershel calls me into the barn himself.
