Your favorite running gag in adventure games

So what's your favorite running gag in adventure games? I'm selling these fine leather jackets? That's the second biggest X I've ever seen? Chuck the plant? You are standing in an open field west of a white house? Leisure Suit Larry 4? Banang?

My favorite is "Seagull appears courtesy of Loom". I was disappointed to not see that in the Tales of Monkey Island credits. :)

In the old text adventures, a lot of them did funny things when you typed PLUGH.

(It was a magic word in the original "Adventure" game, and a lot of other games co-opted it to do different things, or make funny comments in response, like "Gesundheit!")

I was really happy with the White House joke at the start of Abe Lincoln Must Die.

    "Look, a three headed monkey!"

And... "I'm not putting my lips on that."

Being resurrected in a puff of orange smoke; not originally intended as humorous in the Crowther/Woods Colossal Cave Adventure, but it was occasionally referenced as an in-joke in later text adventures. Can't recall seeing it used in a graphic adventure though.
