Looks ok.... Not sure about combat and if they'll pull the feeling of this off. Not going to pledge either, not coming out til the end of next year? No thanks. I'll wait and if it comes out I may buy it afterwards.
I don't have faith in this developer, don't know them too well. For me that's what kickstarter is about. Showing what you have, sharing what you have done and offering incentive to help out. I'm not seeing much incentive, across any of their tiers. $5000 and you get invited to a launch party which they don't even pay for your travel to? Yeah...
I suppose...except that this team is made up of Troika and Obsidian alumni. These guys have experience with bringing games out...like Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines...which was a fantastic FPS RPG in its day.
Most of the games that I have favored on kickstarter have kind of been similar though...Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, and now Dead State...turn based kind of games. I love it. Just like the original Fallouts used to be. ^^ And dialog heavy.
Troika (RIP) and Obsidian are some of most talented RPG developers around. That said, I didn't realise Dead State was only being worked on part-time before. Was expecting it very soon.
Yeah, it kinda looked looked like they were a lot further along than I thought. But oh well. It's good to know that this game WILL come out. I guess ultimately it could still fail, but somehow I don't think so. They're going to be paid to do this full-time and it clearly shows they have a lot of direction and know what they are doing.
I'm stoked! Will be one of the best zombie games ever.
Making Walking Dead and Dead State the greatest of the greats. Not sure about Project Zomboid...although I'm pretty sure that game, based off the demo I played, will equally be great.
