Your weapon of choice if you were Lee

edited June 2012 in The Walking Dead
I always though a louiseville slugger with a bunch of nails sticking out the sweet spot might work well, or a really good hand scyth maybe? He probably should have looked around Hershell's farm a bit more. Grabbed a pitch fork or something? If it was my dream weapon would probably be steam roller

All I would want would be a gun ACR 6.8. Just to decapitate the zombies from far.
  • edited June 2012
Guns would gather a lot of Zombies, and probably other bad people. Crowbar would work great, and last longer than my weapon, but what's the other gun? Antigravity?

I would have kept the hammer that Clem gave me to bash babysitter's head in with. Tyresse in the comic rocked the heck out of a hammer!

Go for the classic dead rising style, bowling balls, benches, lawnmowers if im feeling crazy maybe get the parasol out? Realistically though, you want a semi auto carbine, full auto weapons would drain ammo too fast and if a group approached you it'd be too tempting to go Rambo and unleash a lead storm, then you'd just get munched when you realised, shit this isn't call of duty hahaha for melee a shoalin spade is the best, double edged blades on both ends and can be used to dig as well as easily decapitate, so has double usage!

Claw Hammer. Yeah you have to get close, but most claw hammers are light enough that I can swing one for a good time, even while running mostly flat out. The claw side would make for decent force focusing (for increased pressure).

    They are on to me!

I've fought with padded weapons. And swing even just two pounds get tiring. We used to play capture the flag with them back in college. Of course the last time I tried, I think I nearly coughed up a lung after 9 minutes. So I would probably turn said claw hammer on myself before too long.

    Better dead than Zed.

Id go with a make shift metal spear, aslong as you were straight on just aim at the eye and wait, also good for taking out legs to buy time or jamming in between teeth to save getting bit

    Snow-Plow-Resistant-Truncated-Domes-lg.jpg

That is my weapon. And of course the lightsaber as backup for when i have to refuel.

A full sized Claymore. Jack Churchill once said, "Any officer who goes into action without his sword is improperly armed." And I think he knows a little more about fighting zombies than you do pal, because he invented it.

That, and a 44 revolver. It's a swell piece of weaponry, I wouldn't be worried about it jamming, and let's face it, it looks pretty cool.

    slightly overkill?

venus fly traps are bit small and i reckon having eaten a zombie it would mutate and become a little aggrovated...

    I think you need 3

    1 long range and quiet
    1 short range and quiet
    1 multi target

In terms of long range you want something reusable so any kind of silenced gun is out right away. The crossbow has an advantage in being able to reclaim the arrows providing you're not surrounded but the reload can be a little slow. Still at distance that's not such a concern.
As for short range, knives can snap, snag or bend. Personally I think you go with a sharpened screwdriver, which obvious has other uses outside of aerating someone's skull.
For multi-target surrounded scenarios can there really be a better option than a sword? Light and with the ability to take 3 or 4 heads off with each swing.

And just for the sake of fun, I think having a can of petrol could be enourmously useful. If you're surrounded then splashing a little around, lighting a match and watching the flames spread could clear a large mass of zombies.

Has everyone forgotten or didn't know you can make a suppressor for most pistols/ .22 and .223 rifles by grabbing a coke bottle (plastic) taping it onto the rifle/pistol barrel and putting insalation foam in it....it gives you 2-5 suppressed shots....easy...very simple to make...very reliable.

I would probably use Ultima, Bahamut Or maybe Knights of the round ( I could go and make a cup of tea and toast in the meantime then.) :D

A nice heavy blade like a machete. You swing wide with a crowbar and miss and you might lose balance, ending up giving the walkers around you a nice butt-crack sandwich to chew on.

Guns are pointless since you might kill 1 or so, but potentially ringing the din-din bell for a thousand more.;)

I would like to have a virus that eats the zombies, but has no effect on the living and a way to distribute it globaly. That would be fast, safe, effective and kind of ironic.

Otherwise I guess some pistols or guns with silencers would also do. And some knife to save bullets. Hm, maybe it's a good idea to take a knife and a stick and make a spear out of it. You could then push it in their brains from a safer distance ... no need to risk very close contact. Hmm hmmm ... okay:

    2 silenced pistols
    1 crossbow
    1 spear
    1 katana
    10 grenades
10 devices that are small and create a lot of noise

1 body armor or at least heavy clothing
    1 helmet
1 pair of protection glasses (against the splattering blood)
    1 pair of gloves
1 pair of good hiking shoes

Actually anyone can make decent bite resistant armor by just wrapping yourself in cardboard. Cardboard is one of the strongest materials by weight, provided it stays dry-ish. When coated in duct tape it is good to go. The armor doesn't have to protect you from a zombie dog pile, it mainly has to protect against that surprise zombie behind door #1 or around the corner. Basically something that gives you that extra moment to react.

That fact is "super riot" armor isn't going to save you from a dog pile. Best case you are just pinned and spend your last few days being tugged in various directions screaming yourself hoarse.

Climbing gear is probably more useful (and attainable) than some made-for-SyFy-channel zombie hunter kit.
