Kenny MASSIVE SPOILER!

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
Near the end of my game Kenny got shot in the stomach.
Yet he seemed to walk it off like it was no big deal, after we left the farm he was walking along not even holding his stomach or bleeding or even limping or anything. Was that a glitch or are they trying to say he was just scared and fell over like a sack of potatoes after getting shot point blank and having the bullet miss?
haha

Of course I may very well have overlooked something, I was running without any sleep :p

It could have been he got lucky. People in the long past have survived gunshots, with the bullets still LODGED in them, no less, and some have lived fairly long lives. Not usual, but not as improbable as people think. If you aren't hit anywhere vital and it stays relatively stable in the lodged area (this is probable), you can survive it.

Plus, it also depends on the gun. I wouldn't expect you to survive a .50 caliber of any kind of gun. Or survive those auto-fire guns. I doubt anyone would NOT go down from an Anti-Material Sniper Rifle. Hell, one of those things can take out the shooter just from the recoil if you don't place yourself and the gun.

Oh I absolutely agree, the shot didn't even really seem fatal.
Or rather it seemed fatal but not life threatening. To the best of my recollection it looked like he was shot anywhere from around the gut to his leg.

While realistically he could have gotten lucky and the bullet could still be lodged in him, I feel that the game developers wouldn't have done that on purpose without making mention of it. If Kenny had stood up later and said "wow that was a lucky shot, he almost got me" or something I'd be ok with it. But he was laying on the ground in one scene not moving.
The next scene he was suddenly walking with me to the car. One minute I think he's dead the next minute he's ok, walking without a limp or blood or even a bandage. So that's why I think there may have been a glitch in my game.

Did he get shot in anyone else's game? If so did anyone else notice what I saw, or am I completely missing something?

If you mess up, Lee gets shot in the head. And that Crazy Lady got shot in the head.

it might of just skined him or it was not as bad as it was seemed

To me it looked like he got shot somewhere in the side, below the ribcage and above the hip. Just flesh and muscle over there, one of the better locations to be shot in.

Yes, he was shot in my game and then never mentions it; looks like a major oversight.

how does brenda get shot ? in my first ep2 run she was chewed on..

Not a fatal shot, tis just a flesh wound.

Although he could have done the Keanu Reeves and clipped his hand in to his stomach to pull the bullet out, saw it happen on the way to the car.

Oh? I wasn't aware you could actually have them die yet, truth be told.
I was kind of getting the feeling that, while you can make decisions in the game, the main storyline is unchangeable

He was shot in mine: it was an 'Oh crap' moment during the chaos, but even though he went down hard, I think he got back up and was still running on adrenaline. It was in a 'lucky' spot.

It forces a game over. Lee can get shot by Brenda if he approaches the hostage situation too quickly. It reloads Lee to the front porch.

Lee can also get shot in the barn, when you fail to grab the rifle quickly enough. Happened to me two times in a row until I finally hit the right spot ;)

I hated that scene because I used a 360 controller and it took a second for the thing to kick in for me to move.

I lagged the first time for that scene even though I expected it, So I was frozen just long enough to watch myself get shot the first time.

I've died more than once on making decisions or actions on this game because the game will freeze just for a second, long enough for me to die.

Well, the way Kenny was walking without even so much as a pained face, the wound can't really be that much of an issue. I'd be disappointed if he still dies because of that shot in episode 3.

But to me it just seems a bit odd that he walks it off like it's nothing :/
I really get the feeling from a storytelling point of view they should atleast had him have some dialogue and say "Oh thank god that bullet missed, I fell over cause I was in shock" or something, anything to tell me it wasn't just a glitch in the game x_x

Also, looking at the amount of blood on his clothes afterward, I think it's clear that the shot just glanced him. It was probably enough to hurt him, stop him in his tracks, but I don't think it was anything life-threatening.

It may have just grazed him. In the shock and pain of the moment, he may have thought that he was injured worse than he was.

I think that the bullet grazed him and he fell out of shock. He seemed to stop the bleeding on the way back to the motor inn.

crazy lady = irene/jolene i guess not brenda lol

well i say this 'gunshot' of kenny's will cause him no end of trouble eventually killing him and he turns on kat and duck and we have to put him down..

i like the salt lick idea 'say hi to larry for me' no lee don't do.....smash

He got shot at close range with a rifle. Big caliber? I don't think so, but he DID go down pretty quick, and if I were ever even shot in the LEG by a relatively small weapon, I'd probably kiss my butt goodbye. Kenny's just a champ (or chump, depending on what you did in the locker) who's tough (or lucky) enough to be able to walk off what seems to me to be a bullet to the side.

He could still get an infection and die from that though.

If you watch behind Carley/Doug while they're talking to Lee leaving the farm, Kenny is holding his side, walking slightly off to the right of everyone else. I assumed he was grazed and as for how he went down, consider how quickly he folded when Larry hit him (if you chose the "kick ass" option). With all the drugs at their disposal, I doubt infection is a concern.
