Walking Dead #100 out today (SPOILERS INSIDE)

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
I feel like this needs to be done.

Strategic words to prevent the text being shown if someone highlights it in the view thread listings.

WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE GLENN WHY? I want to say he can survive that and wind up like Carl who looks rather deformed with half a head, but there is no why Glenn is still alive after that.:(

So issue number 100 came out today. Anyone care to share what they thought?
Holy hell Glenn's gone. I mean, the guy hasn't really been doing anything for quite a while now, but still. Literally Rick's oldest friend in the series, not counting Carl. I was actually expecting Carl to die this issue, but perhaps that would screw the rest of the series up too much. Really interesting to see where they're going from this. It will certainly mean the following issues are going to feel a lot less secure.

Also, I was surprised by Kirkman's comment in the letters column that the series hasn't even reached it's half-point yet. I know the series is supposed to be never-ending, but I can't really imagine there being enough material to mine for another ten years. Pretty excited about the following few issues, though.

Also, some of the drawings in this issue... Man. I know Adlard isn't afraid to go into detail when he needs to, but it's never been as bad (good bad, of course) as this issue.

God. I'm getting my issue on Friday because of the Walking Dead escape, but I can't deny spoilers on the internet. (Tony Moore, come back!)

We need to merge with the other issue 100 threads. I'm getting my copy on friday, but I could not resist the spoilers. I really thought Rick was gone for good in this issue.

I don't understand why Kirkman could have killed off other characters. Rosita, Eugene, even Sophia. Glenn and Rick go back a long while. Screw you, Negan.

Very simple. No one is safe. He can't simply spare someone for fan service/good relations with Rick. Besides that, Glenn is probably the most popular character from the comics(think about why Telltale chose him to be cameo'd) and Kirkman wanted 100 to be a rememberable one. What better way than killing off THE most popular character in the franchise? And in the most gruesome way possible? In front of his pregnant wife and 8 year old daughter?

I'm still shocked... Completly gross. Holly shit, I hate Negan now, he killed Glenn like if it was some kind of joke to him!!! I want to see Rick "Lucilling" that son of a bitch!!!!
  • edited July 2012
Did anybody ever expect that Lucille was going to be a human, like a hero to Rick's group? Lucille did kill Glenn...

I thougt Lucille was human. But not good, I thougt he was from Negan's group, and that would kill someone, or try (At least was rigth about that).

well Kirkman did it.... 100 will be memorable and if I ever meet anyone in the world named Negan ....... God help them........ lol but seriously I thought 100 was way to short and the artwork was very detailed even for Charlie... superb!!!

Glenn's death scene was more gut-wrenching than Michonne mutilating the Governor. This is saying a lot.

agree!!!! it was bad... maybe thats because I hated the Gov....either way issue 101 is too long away...

R.I.P. Glenn... you didn't deserve to go that way... rip.gif

I think I'm done with the comic, Kirkman will milk this for a year and I just don't have the patience to wait for resolution. (At least it's not as bad as GRRM and A Dance With Dragons - that's more a question of who will die first: him or me?)
  • edited July 2012
Rick and his group better kill off all the Saviors. After what Negan did to Glenn, I'm hoping for nothing else.

RIP my Friend. I got the issue on comixology, and read it around 1:00PM EST. it is now 4:06PM, and my jaw is still on the floor. i keep reading it over and over, hoping that the pages will change, or I will see something in the artwork, or the wording that could give me hope that he will be alive, just really fucked up like when a 1/3 of Carl's face was blown off. Stlll praying, but I deep down I know he is gone. RIP Issue #2-100

i got my issue this afternoon on Comixology, then picking up a copy that will never be opened this weekend. Unless it's to get Kirkman to sign it, or TWD cast members. I also got the torrent with my CDisplay reader. I still can't pick my jaw up off the floor from what I saw hppen.

Well there goes my second to last favorite character. Carl, you're all I have left.

About the same time that episode 3 of TT's game comes out. We need Rick to become like this again:

Amen to the attachment. If they can get back to the safezone before the attack begins and hold them off long enough to regroup, I'd say Negan is gonna pray that he was the Governor after Rick and crew get through with him.

When was that? If it was the governor, we might want to think differently as Rick and Carl were the only survivors from that.

i must admit i cried when Glenn died i could not believe it. he was my favorite and i am sad that he is gone,I still miss Tyreese i wonder who will be next:( i cant wait till rick kicks the fucking shit out of negan

That scen is from when they were holed up in the church, and the people who kidnapped and ate Dale's leg were fucking with them. They did in fact learn the hard way that they were "fucking with the wrong people."

I'm not sure but I feel a bit disappointed. I mean it was okay but he material felt very short and not nearly as epic as the Governor arc. I really liked Glenn but to be honest I think I like him more in the TV show. Lately in the comics, he hasn't really been doing anything.

I expected it to be a little more epic than that. Anyway still a very good issue and now the long wait begins again.

P.S I'm happy that it wasn't Andrea the one to die :)

    Yeah, not your brightest move.

Ah. Then that would be much better of an image then.

Fuck Negan in his fucking ass. He needs to die. I was expecting Andrea to be killed to be honest. The Saviors finding the group on the road and Glen being murdered was the last thing I expected. Looking at him scream for Maggie with his skull crushed was gut-wrenching.

Things like this happening in the comics when people talk about sunshine and rainbow endings to this game crack me up. They have no idea what they've gotten themselves into.

One thing I know for sure, Rick will murder that son of a b****. And, when he does, I will enjoy every panel of it.
    Rest in peace ______, Issues # 2-100.

    But will he?
Rick didn't even kill the governor, Lilly did. Heck Rick doesn't even know the governor is dead! We don't know what will happen here.

Dammit, I've been looking forward to 100 for months now, picked up the issue after work and just finished reading it. Still in shock from what happened, he was one of my favorite characters. Such a disturbing way to go.

    negan deserves a painful death!

Agree, Kirkman is unpredictable. Negan's time will come, I just hope it's Rick that ends him. He owes it to _____. The dude saved his life. If not Rick, then, at least, I hope kirkman gives Negan the Michonne on gov treatment. That will satisfy my rage!!!

I knew what I was getting into. I already read it. Still typing spoilers and spacing something out when there's a tag made for it is pretty pointless.

Daryl will make a sudden appearance in the comic book and will kill Negan O_O :D
And those of you who said that Lilly killed the Governer - well, yeah, exactly! That's why we love her :P :D
  • edited July 2012
Maybe that's the difference between the two arcs. In the first one, Rick ran and had to have someone else clean up his mess. Maybe in this one, Rick will emerge the victor.

Justice was served with the Governor. Remember what Michonne did to him...

I wish she would have had enough time to finish the job, they'd probably still be still at the prison (though the prison arc was pretty long, the story needed to advance)

I thought it was going to be Rick going this time. I really did. A guy in the comic book store even told me "you're going to hate this issue"

I have no doubts Negan will get his, I'm hoping he is slain by his own bat. "Lucille" or whatever

The hype leading up to the issue was pretty underwhelming. 8 variant covers and only 1 death?

Oh yeah. I meant in the 100th issue. But in the arc overall, Abraham was one of my favorite characters.
