TWD Forum appreciation thread

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
I apologize if this has been done b4 but this is absolutely the best forum I have ever been a part of. The threads normally stay on topic, the MODs are mellow and there doesn't seen to be any "Flaming" going on.
Very impressive guys/girls keep up the good work!:D

Nice forum...for the most part. A few complaints here and there. Thanks, Telltale developers for creating such an awesome game!

I think the tone of the forum is normally set by the tone of the properties Telltale is working with. Walkind Dead fans seems like a nice bunch.

Remember when the Monkey Island fans wanted point and click? THAT was the apocalypse. :D

Good thing I wasn't a moderator back then. I was too busy flaming because of the controls anyway. ;)

I think it's a great forum, very happy to see it separated from Steam. Most people have good insight into the game, and some have read the comics which provides a good perspective as well. I've only a problem with the absurd signature length of idiotic lines some people insist on having.

I think the next release should have the PC and Steam get the game first then the Europeans a few days later then the xbox as long after as europeans did

then for episode four Europe first then xbox then pc and Steam

    only fair

I apologize to everyone who's reading for quoting this, but I'd like to make a point.

What? You've hopefully posted in the wrong thread, because your post has nothing at all to do with this one. Unfortunately, on top of the senseless post, you've got 10 lines of a bad signature attached.

These are great forums with the exception of ridiculous signature lengths being allowed. Any way a mod could look into this?

Couldn't think of a better place to bring up the point also it shows us xbox fans appreciate what non xbox fans have gone through

Any additional rationale concerning a signature 5 times the size of your post?

would getting away my ascii art make you happy?
  • edited July 2012
Condensing 15 lines of drivel into 3 or less would not only make me happy, but make the entire forum more readable. All in the spirit of forum appreciation.

Is this better in the spirit of TWD forum appreciation?
  • edited July 2012
Way better, thank you, there's a few other people who should do exactly what you've done.

"size 1" also helps in signatures. Trust me, I know.

And I LOVE that this forum doesn't let you put images in signatures.
That is SO DAMN annoying in other forums.

not going to get rid of my link even though i can't show it.

You can block user's signatures from your view using your personal forum settings. Works fine. :)

On topic: I also like this forum, TWD or TTG in general. I know a lot of different ones where there's not a single thread that doesn't end up in smart ass fights.

I COULD block signatures out in a snap... but I'm kinda supposed to control if they're OK. :D

Taking the quotes from a completely different thread where the thing would be as off topic as humanly possible.

Here's my question . If Sean Vainaman is the writer why do we have a mod named Vainamoinen? shouldnt he be a red font?

    *facepalm*

I can't believe I missed that. Actually, when the whole TWD riot started with episode 1, I received a PM from one new community member suspecting that Sean and I are the same person. I think. The person wouldn't be concrete. That's how conspiracy theories work. Don't ask people questions, just ask for statements for anything and hope you can make out of the answer whatever you want.

First, it's VANAMAN. No i in there. Second, it's VAINAMOINEN. Two is in there. The similarities are rather hard to perceive.

Sean hails from Ireland. He's a developer for Telltale and has a red name on this forum accordingly. I hope he gets paid well! I am a lowly moderator and do not receive a single cent for what I do in this forum (that's what voluntary means). Moderators had hoped that with their flashy signatures, everyone would understand that the grey named people do not work for Telltale, but just keep an eye out for the community - from within the community.

They aren't related. I don't even think Vainamonien lives in America...

Between my present location and California, it's roughly 3,500 miles. I was born and raised in Germany. I studied English for quite some time (and with a degree, yay!), so I hope that the situations in which I out myself as a non-Native are relatively seldom.

The name Vainamoinen - stripped of its original umlauts - belongs to a figure from Finnish mythology. I have been using the name ever since I registered for my first UBB forum ever (in 1999, to discuss the then-upcoming "Lord of the Rings" movies ). As everyone in there seemed to be named "Gandalf", I swiftly needed an alternate wise wizard to go with. I chose this one.

or asking if he wants to be big brother. I haven't played half life either except that demo of episode two part two thats on xbox.

Major Kudos to you guys. My sister played the game and she cried after hearing the messages left by Clem's mother on the answering machine.
To evoke such emotion from a person playing a game is a testament to the effort that TTG Put into TWD. I just wanted to share!:D
