Bob Hoskins retires from acting

edited August 2012 in General Chat
Yesterday, I found out some very depressing news. Actor Bob Hoskins announced on Wednesday that he’s retiring from acting. He announced that he has the parkinson’s diagnosis(the sickness that Michael J Fox has).

Got to say, he was one of my favorite actors. He will be missed in the business of movie making. And to all the pencil pushers, may you all get lead poisoning.

Yeah, unless if they kill off Hoskin's character.

Honestly, I can't say I blame him. After reading one of Michael J. Fox's autobiographies, I can well imagine how much Parkinson's would affect the ability to affect a solid acting career. Still, very sad news. :(

Let's hope that stem cell therapy is close to release.

    or to the movie Hook.

I like Hook a lot - at least a whole lot more than the average person - but I'll say in this case, one movie was enough. Also, there's no Neverland without Captain Hook... :o

And that's bad because...? Besides, Hoskins would rather die than be Mario again, he absolutely hated working on that film. Hated it.

This makes me sad, but I think it would've needed to be a proper prequel because, as Vaina said, you can't have Neverland without Captain Hook.

Maybe if they had more effort with the movie through the script and have it more faithful to the mario games it wouldn't be so hated. Besides, Its an understatement that Hoskins hated working on The Super Mario Bros movie. He didnt even know it was a game until his son showed it to him!

    Seriously?

That's like never having heard of Star Wars.

I'm not making that up. I wish I was though.

I'm pretty sure RAnthonyMahan said that in jest.
