[SPOILERS]How will *** be remembered in the next episode?

edited September 2012 in The Walking Dead
Probably Carley/Doug were destined to die by Lilly's hand the moment they wrote the script for this game. Even so, I'm still sadden by Carley's death and there is two more episodes to go to change things. Whether TTG have any further plans and surprises or perhaps the storm swirling over her death might get them to alter the story a bit... we can hope.

However, I doubt she can be brought back but I don't mind being wrong here. What I would like to see at least is Carley being mentioned in a few conversations. Lee using her gun. If possible, Lee thinking of her in dream or getting knocked out (or falling on his head will do) and hallucinating. What do you think?

She got to be mentioned in some way since you could chose "I was fond of her" in a conversation with Kat. She obviously had an impact on Lee and probably spent a lot of time with him in between EP2 and EP3.

But bringing her back alive and meeting up with her in Savannah would be nearly as stupid as bringing back Larry.

Lee's probably going to cite Darley directly when talking to Ben in the future.

Why does the poll say an eye patch? Clearly she got shot in the cheek....

As much as I would love a killer eye patch, I think the best that can be hoped for is a dream.

Knowing how this series is shaping, it's mostly likely going to be yesterday's newspaper.

Well, I just got done rewatching Kill Bill and I thought Carley might look better with an eye patch. It'll help give her a don't f*** with me sort of appearance. If you don't like it, the eye patch can be optional.

    Sorry, my bad. :(

I'm going on the fact that Lee is using Carley's gun. It would be cool if Carley is "indirectly" helping him survive.

even though I wouldn't want her to wear a eye patch, I would probably use it considering that is most likely more attractive than a giant bullet hole in her face.

That is ludicrous. Even if they bring her back (which I don't think they will), you want them to bring her back without some kind of scar after getting shot in the face? Really?

There was a lot of blood for just "grazing" her face.

It's one thing for it to be a game, it's another to just straight out change reality (which is what they would be doing).

I like this idea. Also most likely some conversations where Lee is reflecting on Carley's demise. It would be a real shame if she is forgotten because what's also great about the walking dead is the protagonist's own personal torment and sorrow of losing something or someone important.

This is also a very excellent point.

that is ludicrous. in ep2 she said her gun always is attendant so lee's gun was not she's gun

I, Myself, Think it's for the best in a dream. If telltale revived Carley i'd be pissed even more. I mean, Kill off a character and bring him back? This ain't no fairy tale.

While you all weren't looking, a funeral was held by all the cast.

The zombie pallbearers following the train to Savannah carried Carley's body and stood respectfully aside (although the moaning is unavoidable), while Lee lowered her body into an open grave. The cast, including Herschel, Glenn, and Lilly, each dropped a handful of dirt and said their goodbyes. Clem solemnly added a flower sticker peeled from her walkie talkie. It was all very emotional.

all I saw in that poll was 'eyepatch' : vote registered
  • edited September 2012
As everyone cries at the funeral, Carley shows up from nowhere with an eyepatch.

Carley: "Arr, who be inside the casket? Ye all seem to be in need of some ALE! Yarrr!"

I'm hoping that doug getting shot in the head, didnt completely damage/destroy the brain so that i can be reunited with my friend once more, then i'd do something similar the shaun of the dead and tie him up and put him in the train or something and just talk to him when im lonely. :D

A "scrapped" cheek before and a "scotch" in her cheek now? I can't take this.

    *pours a shot of scratch*

I think it would be great if TTG made Lee have a dream (like when he dreamt of Clem turning and attacking him) of Carley coming and saying her goodbyes, or some sweet romantic farewell. Just SOMETHING for us Carley lovers to go on.

Coming back alive would be awesome of course :D arrr

    2, 3 and 4.
2- This game is all about dialogue options, so for sure there should be a chance to reminisce, confide in someone or even cry about Car.

3- Considering that glocks in the group get spawned infinitely I'm certain Lee might, if not already be using Carley's gun. He might be able to identify it by the stickers Clemie-Clem put on it. Just a guess.

4- If Lee had a nightmare about Clem, then I expect to see a dream about Carley. If she even was as important as we try and lead Lee to believe. (Geez, Lee. Being silent ain't being strong. Just cry man!! FOR REAL!)
As much as I'd love to see a sexy pirate-reporter, that's not a combo worth Telltale's lazy efforts on her story. They'd just screw it up.
If it's any consolation, Naughty Dog wouldn't even come close! (They'd just take every choice in the game, turn it into DLC and sell it for 40p each. Even a story arc with Car saved twice would be removed from the game and sold in extortion)

Lee using her gun, and they'd show it explicitly that it belonged to Carley.

In Meymaneh, Afganistan there was a man shot between his eyes with an AK. And he walked into the ER by himself. So no, a headshot does not have to be fatal. And especially not a cheekshot with a 9mm.

Carley turned her head, so no one really knows the destination of the bullet. Or where it entered/exited. It could have strafed for all we know.
When that is said, she is dead.
Even if she was alive on the ground after being shot there was a zombie coming behind the RV. He would have eaten Carley if she was on the ground breathing and unconcious.

You argue both sides of this, but still go on about wanting your money back and hating the game. Do you really have an opinion on anything?

I know it must be hard in your black and white world to understand that some people can accept that carley got shot and still think the game is not very good.

I predicted it back in July that Carley/Doug was likely next to go.
    Same with Lilly.
And i believe Ben. I was wrong about this one.

    As for my opinion.
My opinion is that the group we gathered in ep1 carried this game up untill ep3. Also, this RPG is very limited and doesnt offer many decisions for me to make. the combat is not very good, just button mashing.
Try playing games like jagged alliance, ufo: aftermath, brigade E5, kotor or neverwinter knights. I was hoping for a hybrid between those. Id like to organise the raids into Macon to get supplies. Id also like the freedom of deciding who goes and who stays. In addition you can throw in a "story line quest" where you can side with one or the other or stay neutral.
This is way over telltales head, but it should be doable in 2012.
  • edited September 2012
    Of course it's doable.

But do/did they have the budget to make something like that?

Are any of their other games even remotely like that.
