i'll try to find a screenshot in a bit, when i'm less knackered

No cheating by looking at the link properties!
Sorry this took me a while, I was a little stumped. This shouldn't be too hard, it's not that obscure a game but i'm not well so looking for really obscure games is a bit beyond me today.

    Is that Zork Nemesis?
  • edited October 2007
Mel> indeed. See, that wasn't so hard. Heh. I can't get to to run on my pc.. it crashes at the puzzle with all those colours. Annoying

For Zork Nemesis: Have you done a full install so you don't have to change CDs? That may possibly help. Also, have you run it in any compatibility modes? Here's a full XP setup that you can try as well.

Here's one (an unconventional adventure game but cool in its own way):

    Someone else take my go.

I'm running win2k which is probably the main source of my my problems really. And yeah, I did full install.

I'll take that turn, then. This one is really obscure, though it may be notably less so for Norwegians. (English versions supposedly exist, though.)

Yes, that is a puzzle where you have to assemble a car from the ground up. Luckily hints are available and it's divided in 5 stages. Getting through it without using any hints will take a while.

no fricken clue.. looks more puzzle than advent and its not from usa.. dont see how many would guess it :P
  • edited October 2007
It's actually more of a kid's advent (where advancing the plot is trivial, but there are lots of things to click on and lots of mini-games and activities) much like muppet treasure island (and also based on a movie). Anyway, here's an easier picture :D

(If you have trouble spelling the å, don't bother and just post a new pic.)

Hehe. Been away for a while, but that's easy for us norwegians that grew up with "flåklypa." Never played the game though! For those of you who didn't understand this: The game is named "Flåklypa Grand Prix"

Look at the attachment for new pic.

Great game, maby too easy though.

Blade Runner. That's so easy it hurts :D
Now have a similarly easy to guess game.

Grim Fandango, of course! Going to be playing it tomorrow, which is Dia de Los Muertos.
  • edited November 2007
Of course it is. That's why I chose it. :)
  • edited November 2007
damn, i played fandango several times, but can't remember that scene...
  • edited November 2007
    ahhh grim fandango
, another game that wont run on a dual core processor using win2k -_-
  • edited November 2007
who the hell uses windows 2000? and why?! and yes it will work on dual core... easy peasy.. got it running here dual core..

Kal> Yeah,I run win2k. My father built my pc and he always runs win2k so i'm lumped with it. Not that I mind, I prefer it to XP, it doesn't freak out when I put a cd in the drive, lol.
I've run 2k as long as I can remember, it's stable enough and my pc doesn't crash, I can run MOST games, modern ones are no issue, it's the older 95 based games that wont play.
As for grim, well I get it running and the graphics glitch, glottis for instance goes all blurry and wierd. Then it'll just lock up completely, at the point I try to talk to the clown, try to change the message on the boss' pc etc etc. I have no idea why. Any suggestions?

from an computer science geek to you.. 2k is the worst os on the side of ME.. and there is NO support for 2000.. there is still quite a bit of support for 95 and 98 but not 2k :P

    Anyone posting a game?

Heh, if Jack Thompson knew about this game, he'd spontaneously combust.
  • edited November 2007
Ah, but it can only be... Waxworks.
Used to freak the hell out of me as a kid, plus I was always getting lost in that maze.

    What is 2k?
  • edited November 2007
A wild guess, though I've never played the game, is that this is "Shogun" (based on James Clavell's novel, based on historical events, vaguely).

    If I'm right.... that'll be a surprise.
  • edited November 2007
Wow. Yes, Molokov. It is indeed Shogun. I thought that one would last a bit longer.

    @Zach: 2k means Windows 2000.

I'm so happy to see Zork. *gushes*

I know what it is (I'm pretty sure at least) - I can tell by the inventory items, even though I haven't played it. I didn't know there was more than one version.

That looks like one of the BBC's GUI remakes of the Hitchhiker's Guide game. Someone else can take my turn :)

I took the shot from a few moves into Edition Two.

Hmm my first idea was Starship Titanic due to Adams before and the robot but if i remember correctly this alone had a different interface.
  • edited November 2007
Yeah, this one is more Asimov than Adams.
  • edited November 2007
I used to own this game way back in the day.
