I have played through all four episodes with Kenny on my side. The only times I decided to not side with him was at Hershal's farm, the Meat Locker, and Ben. I can't get Kenny on my side no matter what I do. Also, what is better for Kenny, for him to shoot Duck or for me to shoot duck. Same question for the child zombie in the attic. I also tested letting Ben die, and he was glad to come with me, saying "You have always been there for my family" or something along those lines, while if I don't kill Ben, he says "I don't even remember the last time you even tried to help my family". I want to keep Ben alive and have Kenny join me, but I also don't want to replay through the entire game again(Had to play through it over the past day because of a corrupt save).
I helped him with duck been honest with him, still he says "you looked out for me in the beginning but recently i kept looking out for myself instead than me"
WTF
I checked all my episode stats, and i was always on his side...
He said the same thing when i saved Ben. When i didin't save Ben he was like "I'll be with you till the end"
His line about "what have you done for me lately" really seems to show you a lot about his character. He told me he wasn't coming with me but would save me a spot on the boat even bit. Was kind of an emotional moment seeing as I wanted no one to come with me & then all these people (except Ben) were with me to the end to at least some extent.
I really disliked Kenny in 2, 3, and most of 4 but he came around in the end of this episode. We were almost at odds in everything but he agreed to come with me because I was always good to his family. Coulda brought Ben, but didnt wanna lose Kenny (who I figured would be way more useful) and I didnt wanna push Christa and Omid into comming, since this is pretty much a suicide mission with a sleeper zombie.
i get the feeling that its some really retarded point system thats collecting even minor shit throughout the episodes and you need a specific number of those. as in 5+ for being able to persuade him with the family thing, or 20+ for him to come along because of your friendship.
So yeah you might have 29 points then you save ben and thats lets say -10 and hes at 19 points.
Despite the fact you've always helped him it triggers the comment "you havent been there for me blablabla"
Well, it was fine for me. I only started to side with him near the end of Ep3 so he told me "you know you think we've been seeing eye-to-eye lately but noooooope. Will wait for you in the boat unless shit gets crazy but not coming!" (not literal, but pretty much what he said).
I didn't use the "Clem's my family" line, though. Also, Omid and Christa were like "can't trust yah".
I think some might have glitched games. My first episode four game was pro Kenny but the game glitched, took up all my save slots and I think my decisions went saved either. So today I finished my second play through of all the episodes, do the same stuff I did before and suddenly Kenny gives me the bro speech. Either my first game was glitched or it registers small conversations and makes them add up.
Seeing how many issues people are having with saves, I'm sure a lot of decisions got screwed up. TTG seriously needs to fix their shit. Save issues are THE WORST.
I was friends with Kenny all the way, I said nope to killing Larry though. So to him I'm not a true friend.
Nothing brings people closer then killing a father in front of his daughter, that kinda thing makes your bros for life.
If you leave Larry alive, you risk Kenny's life and Duck and Katjaa getting cut to pieces and eaten, slowly and painfully by cannibals. For some old asshole who punched you into walkers after you got him his heart medicine.
I can't really blame Kenny for not liking your Lee very much
:P

I'm willing to kill Larry but not until we were sure of him being dead.
Just like I wouldn't have shot duck for sleeping until I knew he was dead, or Omid.
I'd be willing to give Larry a minute, and just have Kenny over him with the salt lick if he had turned bam instant smack down, if not then we kept a person alive.
They also needed Katjaa they wouldn't have touched her or Duck.
They were going to eat Me Clementine Lilly and Kenny, not Duck or Katjaa
What Larry has done to me doesn't change what I'd do.
Edit
I just reread that, how would keeping Larry alive do all that?

I let Ben die.
Ep4 will be really lonely for me.
Damnit.
wow. What did you do to make Omid+Christa not want to help you? XD most everythng I've seen,or read, they're insisting they help.

Walkers tend to leap up when the turn, think the cop in ep 1 and the teacher in ep 2. They also turn quickly after death and give little sign they are about to eat everybody. If say Kenny missed with the salt lick because Larry jumped up, EVERYONE's dead. The risk was huge and wasn't worth one man.
What makes you think they wouldn't eat Duck? They didn't need him. Maybe they only stuck the people that were a threat in the locker. Maybe they needed Kat to deliver the cows baby and then they would eat her. All of these are possible.
And if Larry was a good man and I knew he would give me the benefit of the doubt in the locker, maybe I would help him. Like it or not, Larry being a dick affected Lee/Kennys meat locker decision, even if it was just by a little bit.
By keeping him alive I meant risking him reaminating. Sorry that was a pretty crap choice of words.

I think it adds up small conversations, like when Lee and Vernon are holding Kenny back, it notes your response as "You sided with Kenny" and stuff. The small conversations on their own don't stack up to the meat locker or the bell tower, but they add up. I'm curious to see weather letting him shoot Duck was good or bad, and the same with the kid in the attic. He seemed ashamed of himself in my game because I killed Duck instead of him.
Him being a Dick to me made me hate him, not enough for me to do that.
Would you be alright if it was Lee who smashed Ducks head in while Katjaa and Kenny was being held back?
Lilly didn't deserve to have her father die like that. What Kenny did was the smart thing to do but he did it in the most jerkass way.
You can be right and be an asshole at the same time.
.
I really dislike Kenny for this
Episode 4 Where he says I've never been a friend to him, and won't help me find Clementine because he feels like I've never been there for him, even though its far from the truth.
If it was the exact same choice in the meat locker and if Duck was Larry sized, I think I would have done the same thing but it would be a lot harder.
And there's no nice way Kenny could have smashed his head in, especially since he could have been seconds away from turning.
And him being a dick to you in ep 3 onwards is probably because of you're meatlocker choice. Add his wife and kid dying and it probably gets worse.
Yeah except in episode 3 I was there for him throughout the entire episode. Convinced him and not fought, comforted him when I could pretty much. I was a bro to him anytime he needed me, then bam out of no where, Lee you don't care about anyone but yourself.
The meat locker choice is probably pretty important for the final choice and Rock already suggested that small conversations also decide if he helps you or not, so I can see the final decision playing a part. Also did you save Ben's life, I think that's important as well
Really wish I knew how the numbers worked for the final choices but I get the impression it's pretty easy to lose Kenny's support, because of all the "Kenny betrayed me" threads.

Yup, so if that's how we are to judge Kenny, Hes a man who if you do one thing he doesn't like bam instant ass.
I mean really, I pushed Omid off a damn bridge and he still came with me. I broke his legs and wants to come help save Clementine!
Normally i think Kenny's choices are the right ones though, like Larry and the screaming girl in ep 3, so that doesn't bother me. Besides I spared Ben, the guy who got his family killed , and he still supported me.
I don't understand why some players are willing to go all the way back to episode 1 so they can change their previous decisions, which they thought were right at the time, just so they can have Kenny like them more at the end of episode 4? If Kenny doesnt think what you already did for him is good enough, then that surely says more about him than you.
It's fine if you truly believed that what he did and the way he acted was right and thus you were in agreement with him but if your previous choices weren't enough to convince him to come with you to save Clem, so what. Kenny even admits he's the type of man who keeps a tally to see how much Lee's "friendship" adds up and how it ultimately benefits him!
I never thought that Kenny was an "evil" or even a bad man but,for me, he had flaws and aspects of his personality that really grated on me. Personally, I felt I had to make too many concessions and bending over for him to value Lee in any way.
The differnt responses these characters can get truly shows to me what a wonderful job Telltale actually did with them and how believable they have become. In the end it's "to each his own" I suppose.

I really like Lenny being the most caring-like guy and does the most cold-blooded survival focuse decisions, and Lilly being introduced as the most survival-focused jerkass who makes the most caring/loving decisions. It really makes a huge swap between this characters.
Lilly making caring and loving decisions? Did you forget the part where she shot a member of the group due to anger (or accidentally given the story choice). Cold-blooded murder ain't too compassionate yo.

Even if he's your friend, he can still be a bit of an ass at times. Then again, those instances are in Episode 4, where it hasn't even been a day since he lost his family. Still, his friendship is not worth Ben's life. I dropped Ben because I thought Ben would die even if I tried to save him, or that someone else would die because I spent so much time pulling Ben up. When Kenny said I "stepped up and did what I had to" back at the house, I kind of wish there had been a "fuck you" line, but that only happens if you save Ben. I know he was happy because Ben payed for his family's death, but I'm not his assassin. I did it so the group could live, and he automatically assumed I did it for Kat and Duck. If it had been Kenny I was holding on to, I probably would have dropped him too.
In the end, I think that Kenny was a good man at heart. He was in the first episode, if a little dumb at times, but his heart was always in the right place. He's just been so beaten down by the ZA that he's not even the same person he was in Episode 1. He's changed quite a bit since Hershel's farm, which makes it harder for me to support him each episode. Then again, that's what I love about his character, with his slow descent to the dark side... He still has a lot of stuff he needs to atone for, I think, and maybe he can do it by helping me save Clem.

Kenny an asshoe if you play as ASSHOE Lee he acts totally different LOL
It all depends on your choices how much or less of a dick Kenny really is.
But most of his character is dependent on his internal machination on dealing with a tragedy. Like Rock said it's been around 24 hours or so since his families totally unexpected death. Anyone would be a little sensitive and close to the edge. You really can't blame the guy. My Lee tried to be very understanding to his plight. He joined me immediately.
Other player's Lee, probably not so much, hence why Kenny hates you guys.
Kenny was an asshole to me too, even though I've had his side on every decision - saving Duck, backing up Duck, killing Larry, abandoning Ben in the school. And he says I've been looking out for myself? I've been making decisions to try and keep the group strong. I even took Lily along despite her murdering Carley, because I thought the group would be better off with her than without her. What he said just didn't make sense.
Still, I've grown to despise the character now, I first turned against him quite heavily after he attacked me on the train, and since then I just haven't liked him at all. Telling him to fuck off was quite satisfying.
I ended the game with Omid and Christa and that was fine by me, those were the only two sympathetic characters left (besides Lee and Clem, of course).
You say what Kenny said didn't make sense... sorry, but when you talk about him "attacking" you in Ep3, what Kenny says to you makes perfect sense to me.
You do know it's perfectly possible to avoid Kenny attacking you on the train?
Kenny is Lee's single greatest ally through this whole season... he's been written to be that way. Along with Clementine, he's the ONLY character who's been alongside Lee in every single episode... and that's now going to be the case for Ep 5, too.
Perhaps you should have tried subtler methods with him in the train before he "attacked" you... you might have reached a more diplomatic conclusion, as I did. Considering, y'know, that his entire family had just died, it might be beneficial to take a more compassionate route when talking to him...
Kenny an asshoe if you play as ASSHOE Lee he acts totally different LOL
I didn't deliberately play as an "ASSHOE" Lee, I played the way that felt comfortable to me and in doing that Kenny became an "ASSHOE" to my Lee,surely it's a matter of perspective if those choices were the right or wrong ones.
I saved him at the beginning of episode 4 even after he didn't lift a finger to help my Lee twice. Friendship between my Lee and Kenny? that boat/ship sailed a long time ago So I finally told him to go fuck himself if he'd rather put our disagreements before a small girls safety.
I was pro-Lilly until she shot Carley. I sided with Lilly in the meat locker. In ep. 3 I cussed Kenny every chance I got and I was rude with him in ep. 4 too. I sided with Ben @ Crawford and saved Ben. At the end, Kenny was saying how I have never supported him. All I said was: "Clem is family" and he agreed to come. Then when I asked Ben to come, Kenny said that he will not come if Ben comes so I told Ben to stay.

Ah well. Sounds like you were really close to getting the golden five: you, Christa, Omid, Ben and Kenny. Cussing Kenny in ep 3 and ep 4 every chance you got might have been your downfall...
Can you honestly say that you're happy with only you, pregnant Christa and injured Omid being the ones to search for Clementine?
I thoroughly enjoyed telling Kenny to go fuck himself. I'd been waiting for the opportunity for a long time, and when he told me there was only room on the boat for 5, I instantly decided his ass would be left behind.
Sure, Ben is stupid, but he means well and is apologetic. Kenny is just a relentless, unrepentant asshole.
He was already an asshole before his family died, harassing you if you ever so much as 1 option not chose for him.
I didn't want to kill Larry, I fought him on the train, saved Ben, and tagged Ben along. He still came. So, yeah, I have no doubt the previous episodes make next to no difference actually.
Anyway, he's going to regret it, since he'll be my #1 meatshield I will sacrifice to save the rest of us.
And complaining of him would be hypocrit, he wanted me to kill Ben too...
I think they might play a minor role in leaning him to one side or the other.
But there are definitely bigger moments that sway his judgment apparently.

Nevermind I will have to put up with the injured man, the woman who is probably pregnant and the boy who has got about 6 or 7 people killed
Sigh
