Kenny...(SPOILERS)

At first I thought he would turn out to be a good character.

But right now I think he's just extra luggage.

You see...I just reached the train part in Episode 3 and...Kenny hasn't been anything but an egoistic moron.

When he grabbed Duck in the first episode and ran away I thought...ok he might prove himself a valuable friend and ally in the future.

Then at the farm when Andy's brother is pointing a rifle at me,he stayed hidden behind the door until Lily shoots him(or whoever it was).

Then in Episode 3 the door falls on me and he doesn't do a thing to help me fight the zombies.

All he talks about is his family and how he wants to get away from the group.

Not to mention he just killed Lilly's dad while I was trying to revive him!

Darn man,he's just extra luggage.

What would you guys do if you were trapped in a Zombie Apocalypse with someone like Kenny,as egoistic and stupid as Kenny I mean?Hmm?

    I think whether or not a person thinks Kenny is a good character or an annoying one really depends ultimately on the choices they make. Kenny sure can hold a grudge though, but I generally like him.

    Yeah, in retrospect, I actually think they've done a pretty good job with this. I mean, people seem pretty firmly on one side or the other as far as Kenny is concerned.

    As a character he is 100% necessary for the story because the story of the game and the series is realistic.You know...people die no matter how strong or weak they are,no matter how cute or sexy or annoying or adorable or smart they are.

    Kenny is a good character in the game in the meaning of interesting.But as a person he acts like an egoist sissy who always lets Lee down while demanding he supports him always.

    At least....that's how is in in Episode 3 the train part that I've reached so far I mean...right?

    I meant; due to the choices I made he saved me from most of the instances you pointed out. To me he's not just interesting. He's a good friend and someone I can trust to help me no matter what.

    Wait he can actually save you instead of just looking around like a sissy?For example in the barn where Andy's brother is about to shoot you?

    Despite the fact I think Kenny is a punk bitch, I may do a playthrough where I'm his bitch and do everything he wants... I'd like to see what Kenny is capable of.

    I was trying to keep a balance between Kenny and Lilly but then Kenny killed her dad and then Lilly killed Carley...and I decided to leave Lilly out.I mean come on,I liked Carley and...she just goes and shoots her like that.

    P.S. I love your sig :p it's from one of the best L4D maps/scenarios

    Kenny acts like a best friend to you if you help kill Larry in the meat locker. The relationship between Lee and Kenny is like TV Rick and Shane. You never can find out if they're friends, or stabbing each other in the back.

    So Foinikas you decided to get all the episodes instead of waiting for the boxed version?
    and yes the choices make a difference to Lee's relationship with Kenny.I think Kenny is an' impulsive,vindictive and grudge holding dick but for others he's their best friend.

    Hey Joe,I bought the rest of the episodes but I think I will wait until the game comes out on DVD and not buy the 5th one.

    Actually I feel sorry for Kenny after all he has lost.But truth is I was shocked about his attack on Larry and I tried to keep balance between him and Lilly.

    I guess Zeruis I should have acted more on his side but he kept nagging about taking his family and leaving the rest of us in the motel(although he did want Lee and Clementine to join him).

    And darn...I loved Carley.

    I was so angry about Lilly that I left her out of the RV but at the same time I felt sorry for her.

    I hated Larry but I didn't want him to die especially like that.I was trying to help him and suddenly......Kenny acts like an idiot.

    Is there actually any way to save Carley?

    Both Doug and Carley are great but I do think Telltale failed with that decision in episode 1.I know they like their choices to be close but I'd be surprised if they really expected that choice to be close.If they wanted it to be harder they should of split the screen time between Doug and Carley better and maybe even swapped their skills,Gary Whitta did say that he warned them that a sharpshooting female would be the obvious choice.

    Carley is female(possible love interest),saves the group,knows Lee's secret and promises to keep quiet about it,a sharpshooter and also spends more time with Lee when they go to the motel.

    Doug is a nerdish male,stays in the same spot,programs a remote and has a lot less interactions with Lee,Doug is the only character you cant even offer an energy bar!
    Did they really expect more players to be brutal and let Carley die because she knew Lee's secret?

    They should of balanced it out better by having Doug being the one that helps Lee by going with him to the motel.It's a lot easier to choose someone you spend more time with and know a lot more about.

    Edit:LOL, I've just noticed this thread is supposed to be about Kenny, I just get fed up with the Carley v Doug arguments.

    No no don't worry Joe,we discuss Carley and Doug here as well.It looks like I had underestimated Kenny I guess.I didn't know the relationship between Lee and Kenny would be affected so much by minor choices!Now that I know that if I had sided with him and helped him more he would have helped me,I think that he can be a great buddy.He is a great character,but I mean a great buddy as well,a reliable friend in the whole zombie apocalypse

    There are no right and wrong choices, neither Lilly or Kenny are better or worse and they are both meant to shock you, Kenny killing Larry and Lilly killing Carley. Make the decisions that feel right and see how it comes out in the wash (just like the rest of us). :)

    Yeah that's true.I mean I knew that Carley would die,some people didn't care not mentioning it in their thread names here :p but I didn't know that Lilly would kill her.Both deaths came as a shock.Not to mention Duck's too.Actually I didn't feel that bad for Doug at first but when Katjaa shot herself too...I was like "Oh man...."

    This game really makes you love the characters and that's very rare for a video game...

    I totally agree.I think it's lot better experience if you decide what feels right to you and who do you agree with in the moment.For me, it isn't about trying to get the perfect/best ending,it's about living with the choices that you preferred at the time and seeing how they turn out.

    If everything would of gone perfectly for me then my Lee would be finishing episode 4 with Chuck,Doug,non murderous Lilly and Molly and everyone else would be alive :D

    When episode 3 began I did suspect that Lilly would breakdown and snap, but I thought Kenny would be her target.In an act of revenge she shoots Kenny,or Katjaa gets in the way and dies instead.One conversation in the meat locker with Lilly has her saying " He doesnt care about you or me,he'll learn,wait until it happens to him" I thought she would do something to hurt him.
    Carley/Doug getting killed instead did surprise me.

    In my game Kenny is my best friend.

    Saved my life plenty and is always there for me.

    Choices matter dude, clearly you weren't nice to him
