*probably spoilers,the walking dead ep3*

Hi the walking dead is such a nice game UNTILL YOU GET TO EPISODE 3 then i bet something like half of the players stopped playing it and unistalled it, as i did
cuz of a teammate dies.
i wonder why doesn't clementine dies aswell at the end? because there are 2 characters that someone becomes attached imo, one is clementine the other one is carley and here comes the spoiler:

at some part of ep 3 she just die like you can't do anything you can try to play the episode again and she's just gonna die WHY? WTF? i want a guy from telltale giving me a understandable answer to THIS. CUZ IMO THERE ARE NOONE, THIS GAME TURNS FROM ONE OF THE BEST GAME OF THE YEAR, TO ONE OF THE BEST WASTE MONEY OF THE YEAR. SERIOUSLY

I felt the same way when Hudson died in Aliens. I took out the VHS and threw it away. That was bullshit.

I felt that way when my favorite character died in every book/movie/comic/TV show ever.

So I started only picking immortal characters as my favorite character.

    And they still died.

A shocking and unfortunate death, in a Walking Dead game? I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS, MAN!!! Oh, wait, yes I did...

Carley/Doug's death has been one of the most powerful and shocking moments in the series so far. It is an intentionally designed moment of injustice and that's a large part of what makes TWD great. Watching a beloved character die like that, and being powerless to stop it, is just part of the whole TWD experience. It's not just the bad people who die; death can happen to anyone and at any time.

On a side note, this thread really should be in The Walking Dead sub-forums.

I wonder how many TWD comics the OP would get through before refusing to buy any more and throwing out the ones he bought...

Everytime someone complains to telltale about a character death and threatens to uninstall, I know they don't actually care about Walking Dead.

You must understand them. They saved "unable to use batteries" - Carley because she is female. And now that she wants Lee" they are upset that there will be no sex scene.

When Morgan LeFlay died in ToMI, oh, that made me so angry I nearly uninstalled the game.

No, actually, I just kept playing, because it just happens in any sort of media. That's why they build characters up to make you like them, so that they can brutally murder them later on.

I bet you really hate Joss Whedon as well.

    Haha, good one!!

My question to the OP, why do some people complain like this in a video game, if you want stories that always make you happy, here's an idea....create your own game and market it!!

This reminds me of the Mass Effect "outrage" that went on, although the endings might not be good they are the ideas of their creator just like a book.

Speaking of books don't read any of the books from George R.R. Martins "A song of Fire and Ice" or you might be asking for your money back every few chapters as your favorite characters are killed off if you can't take the outcome if characters getting killed in this game.

For sure. Those books would make him want to kill himself.

Maybe that's true. TWD is pretty formulaic, and not everyone cares about that.

    TWD formula is:
    Introduce characters.
    Kill them.

Fans are supposed to embrace new characters so that they can be sad/shocked/surprised/(sometimes happy) when they die. Then, they have to pretend that didn't happen so that they can fall for the same trick again.

Telltale deserves credit for making the game as good as it is under those conditions.

I think Doug/Carley's death was fine, but it was crammed together with too many other deaths and tragedy for the purpose of evoking an emotional lowpoint.

So, I'm not sure I agree that uninstalling over Doug/Carley's death is warranted, but uninstalling over how manipulative episode 3 was in general would have been justified. I barely stayed after episode 3. Without the forums to find out how other people thought and responded, I think I would have quit.

TWD is more fun as a shared experience because on its own, there's a lot of writing that deserves eye rolling. The stats that show what other people did was a great idea.

For OP ... I liked episode 4 ... but more bad things happen.

You are one of the most inconsiderate people ever. Carley is a person, just like everyone else. I don't know why people get boners over some pixels...

Something tells me you'd HATE The Walking Dead Comics and the Show. They both are the same concept and both lose beloved people. Maybe you should do some research before buying the game? Do you even know about the comics or TV show? People die, no matter who you are...

Holy shit, we fucking need a "BITCHIN AND MOANING" thread for these ignorant people with such little understanding.

Episode 3 was a kick in the gut. I was shocked as hell when Carley died that I was nearly on autopilot, almost forcing myself to go on. Then Katjaa and Duck went and I was OMG, how much more depressing can this get. Everyone lost someone important to them. Lee lost Carley, Clem lost Duck (hey, she enjoyed putting bugs on his pillow), and Kenny got it worse, he lost his entire family. I think that's what TT wanted to do, force a sense of lost on the player but I wish they handled it a bit differently instead of *BANG* she's gone.

Also, I'm trying to avoid commenting again on ME3 and not start a debate here but dear Demonseed, the"outrage" towards the endings was completely warranted. BW ripped off the endings to Deus ex Machina for crying out loud. Seriously, after spending so much time and money on these games, the players deserved a solid ending to Shepard's story, not a lazy and rushed one.

Koto, I did actually play all the Mass Effect games and loved them all. I wasn't offended at the ending of ME3, but do think it could have been explained better. I really do think it is the creators choice pertaining to how he/she wants their games to end so I wasn't one to boycott or demand a different ending. I just took it with a grain of salt.

Please explain what the developers lied about, I am confused at that statement.

Bill Paxton was great as Hudson.

Here IS what bugs me though. Apparently if Clementine dies, the game forces you to start from a checkpoint. That is jut poor flexibility on TellTale's part.

Make them unable to function as a team.
Let one of them cause all sorts of drama.

    Kill them.

    Fixed.

And it's a pretty flawed formula. Supposedly the theory is that only the sociopath's are strong enough to survive, so most everyone who is still alive is a sociopath. heh.

I guess Kirkman was never in the military or he'd realize that his formula is really flawed.

Stop posting hate comments, seriously I didn't mind Lilly, but I found her a bit up her own arse and disrespectful to loads of people. Lilly and lee had nothing going for them and no real connection, Carley was a great character, and I'm not here to disrespect your favourite character, so stop disrespecting mine and whoever else likes Carley.

Lilly was my second favourite character but Carley came first because of her personality. Lilly was alright, but certain aspects of her were just hmmm for me. Her character was authentically developed and her backstory was great, her dad was also another character that I miss (thanks to Kenny, how did you know he was dead and going to turn!?) but Carley is my favourite and I understand how you feel over Lilly, but the comments your posting are stupid and unnecessary, and now I'm probably gonna get you shitting on me but just save it for someone who cares okay? Because I'm a Carley supporter and nothing you say can change that okay? And I'm also not here to rant on about wanting her to come back, because there is no way she will, she was shot and even if she survived that, she would be eaten by a zombie/died of starvation or/and no water and how could she walk to savannah with no transport?

I'm admitting that she won't come back because if she did, although I would like that, it would cheapen the game and my emotions over her.

That's all, now go on a bloody Lilly shippers forum or something, your comments that you have been posting are not needed.
