TWD Game VA comments on Episode 5

edited November 2012 in The Walking Dead
Thought that we might need a discussion about this. A week or so ago, an interview was taken with Dave Fennoy, Gavin Hammon, and Melissa Hutchinson, who provide the voices for Lee, Kenny, and Clementine respectively. When asked about episode 5, each voice actor had something to say:

Dave Fennoy:"Have a box of tissues handy."

Gavin Hammon:"Some of us don't make it...I recorded for most of episode 5 already and have no idea what happens to Clem. Melissa won't tell me either!"

Melissa Hutchinson:"Let's just put it this way. That was one of the most INTENSE recording sessions I have EVER had. I'm pretty sure that Dave and Gavin would agree with me on this one. Hold on to your hats, kids! The ride isn't over yet!"

-What I can conclude from Gavin's comment is that the group won't find Clem until a much later chapter in the episode, as he states that he has most of his lines recorded and has no idea what happens to Clem. Is Kenny a goner?

What do you think?

He still voices the same game for people who did take Kenny.

Anyway, he did say MOST. Most ain't all.

I remember reading that interview. It made me think that Kenny was going to die when I read Gavin's comment, which I still think is going to happen. And whatever happens, even if no one dies, it is going to be sad explaining to Clem that Lee is a goner. Not everybody (i.e. Kenny at the least) making it makes it so much worse.

In episode 4 we've gotten stream of actually important choices, compared to the other episodes. So I'm thinking episode 5 swill live up or maybe top that, which would mean that the crowds favorite side character Kenny could either die or live depending on your decisions, unlike many other characters.

What people don't understand is when voice actors read lines, they don't have a full script in front of them...they only know what their character says and how their character is acting in the scene and they try to glean information from that, so that he doesn't know her fate might just be that he simply isn't there for that part of it. Whether that means she didn't make it or he didn't, or if he simply wasn't in the room is yet to be seen.

That was something AJ LoCascio reported for the Back to the Future game, and he voiced MARTY!! The voice actors are getting a loose idea of what's going on in the scene so everything sounds right, but Telltale still seems to be very protective of the storyline secrecy during recording sessions.

    Sounds erotic.
