Did Your Lee Die An Armless Lee?

edited November 2012 in The Walking Dead
I was like "you know what, it will both wind up with me dying, so, fuck the world, I was born with this arm and ILL DIE with my arm!"

I was an inspirational moment, then Kenny died and I cried from that moment till 12 minutes ago.

    No Arm.

If Ash can do it, so can Lee.

My Lee not only died armless, but cut the arm off himself. My Lee was so badass from day one.

I chopped it, and I chopped it knowing that it probably was to late anyway and was just betting on Telltale breaking continuity with the comics. I was really holding out hope for it to just be a scratch, oh well I managed just fine and it made Lee's death march through the Walker horde that much more epic.

No, everything I fuck up a fighting sequence I have my arm on.

The will to live is a motherfucker. So yes I did what I thought might save me, plus its not the real me feeling pain!
  • edited November 2012
Nope. When the time came I decided it was just too risky to let Christa saw off the arm. Good thing too. Came in handy while strangling Campman.

It's the emotional you who feels the pain.

Lee Did not turn. He might just have passed out due to blood loss.
    Here's hoping!

And then dies in 2-3 days from dehydration.. groovy.

A parallel with Rick would be cool if Lee survived. Rick and Lee, both lost a body part and they have to take care of a child.

He is cuffed to a radiator. Water is the least of his problems.

    Point.....

    ....missed.

He's dead in 2 days or less even if he didn't (wasn't going to) turn.

My Arm lee has Clem shoot him...

I cried my fucking eyes out.
  • edited November 2012
I thought hacking off the arm would prevent the infection or at least slow down the fucking process.

    Guess I was wrong.

Gonna play it over with an arm, though, I don't want my Lee to die thinking what happened to his arm didn't do shit.

I cut my arm off cause i figured it would at least slow the infection if not stop it.

Or is dead already because Clementime shot him...

an ffs he died there! Do you really want to remove an emotional scene for a BS "happy ending" that really wouldn't be all that happy really? Do you realize how pathetic that would be?

Having read the comics and seen the show, I know that amputation would only work if it was immediately after the bite so I kept my arm since it was too late anyway. Also having two arms could mean the difference in fights, especially with Radioman.

I hope you quoted me to further emphasis how screwed Lee is...

I'm happy with how things turned out. :p

Kept the arm, was somewhat surprised at the end of game stats at how much in the minority I was. The few times this works (And I use the word 'works' loosely since 50% of the time the victim dies of bloodloss/infection anyway) in the Graphic novel, the affected appendage is removed immediately after the bite.

I figured at least an hour or so had passed while travelling from the mansion to the hospital bunker, and who knows how long Lee was passed out when he fainted there.
Pointless endevour since he is well and truely infected by that point was my reasoning.

There are at least 4 threads on this topic. Does any one search or just post blindly? Not to mention most people played it both ways to see their own results.

I chopped it off trying to slow the infection down a tiny bit,it also helped because I didn't pass out as much as in my 'armed' save.

I call my Lee the one-armed ranger.

Ah come on now, the ending came out today and everyone is running around in post game excitement mode.

It's bound to happen and there's no harm in it. :p

Considering that in reality amputation with little to no medical care and nothing but self improvisation = Very Bad, it just makes more sense to not cut it off. Less of a problem of then, less of a blood issue and it wouldn't slow the group down (climbing that ladder would be a bitch!).

Take what you see in the likes of the Walking Dead show, in which two amputations take place (I won't say who) with a pinch of salt. Survival rate with no medical care of a professional nature tends to be quite low.

Kept my arm. Had an awesome laugh when my Lee woke up to find his best bro Kenny holding the saw to his arm and discussing it with the others.

Tell that to the poor sap that did it already. I'm pretty sure the mods won't like seeing a hundred threads on the same subject.

Well, I guess the mods will be the one to decide that.

Yeah, I thought the amputation scene was pretty unrealistic. I did it anyway because I thought there was a chance it might lead to a "better" ending. But realistically, I think it probably should have just killed him, assuming Lee was able to cut the arm off at all.

It would have been cooler if they had done something like the scene from Heavy Rain where Ethan has to cut off one of his fingers, and it's actually a challenge for the player to get him to work up the nerve to do it.

    Lee kept his arm.
First any amputation scene kind of disgust me , so if i can avoid it , I will.
Lee was dead for me , i got used to the idea .
And the whole point was finding Clem as fast as possible , since it appeared she was hold hostage by a psycho, so I figured it wasn't the time to cut an arm and have time to recover.

I'm not sure you can get an arm cut and one hour after walk around in the street .
Bloodloss + shock = lee not being able to do anything in my mind.

I kept the arm. I was really surprised to see so that so many people cut it off. A fair amount of time had already passed since the bite, and Lee was already feeling the effects of it. I figured cutting it off wouldn't help at that point. It was too late. The other thing was, I thought I might need both arms to find and save Clementine. Whether it's for fighting, climbing or whatever. I was afraid I'd get into a situation where I'd need both arms. The last thing, was the risk of bleeding out, or the fact that the cut off arm is an injury that hinders him more than the actual bite did. That could delay him even more from saving Clementine. So I kept the arm. Enduring the pain of cutting off the arm wouldn't have been worth it.

I saw it off. I bet Lee still lives and shit!

    He does!
  • edited November 2012
if you go alone, do you still get the option to cut it off?
  • edited November 2012
I went alone and yes you cut off your own arm! It is pretty horridm you gotta click the mouse for each movement of the saw, with the screams and noise of saw going through bone, yuck!

Ugh, I don't think I would have been able to make him do that, with a saw. Especially thinking he might pass out halfway through or something.

I chose to cut it off, then instantly regretted it because I knew it was pointless anyway. That scene with Christa was just fucking brutal, far worse than the teacher in the woodland
  • edited November 2012
I couldn't cut it off, I knew time was running out and it wasn't going to affect anything. Lee was done.

Plus I seriously couldn't stomach watching another scene of someone losing a limb.
  • edited November 2012
    I haven't read the novels.

I removed the arm because there was the certainty of death by not removing it and I felt a serious obligation to Clementine.
  • edited November 2012
I kept the arm. I knew it was too late to cut the arm off to stop it from spreading, and I figured it'd be easier to save Clem with both arms. I didn't want to risk the blood loss, but if you keep your arm, you pass out a couple times.
  • edited November 2012
You also pass out if you cut the arm off.
  • edited November 2012
I kept the arm. I would be able to find and save Clem better with two arms instead of one. Sure that effectively was a death sentence but as long as Clem was ok... it didn't matter.
  • edited November 2012
I kept my arm, and I'm glad I did. The gauntlet isn't as bad ass with only 1 arm.
