I was disapointed Lee got bitten in the 4th episode...so yeah...cut that thing off!...was my first though when I saw that option. Pity he dies anyway. Would be nice to cut some more throats before the end game and take Clementine away from danger. There was really not much to do in the 5th episode and I even took all the people I could to die at the 5th. Must check what happens if I let them all behind.
He was going to die anyway. I didnt want to put him through losing his arm too. It seemed like too much time passed between getting bitten and then to have the amputation do much good. Besides, I got to use both my hands to take out zombies on the way to The Marsh House and that was pretty damn cool.

Cool.
I was saying "Hell no, it is meaningless..." like you if I ever face such a situation before I started to play episode 5. But I agreed with my group when they suggested to cut my hand off.
Because it'd be easier keeping the whole group together with the idea of a less dangerous Lee seemed me more clever.
I guess the best part in cutting your arm was where you were doing the last fight. I was aware where the situation was going but when Clem needed my help I was still like "Oh oh, ... what to do what to do...,oh well yes, talk... talk to her... "Clem, go on, GET AWAY FROM HIM!"... and now what... oh yes yes the pedestal! It has gotta work...WHA?... oh yes yes the baseball bat.. I can use it if I could just... WHAA! OMG! OMG!!! F.CK, I DON'T HAVE MY ARM!" and that was a gruesome moment I can never forget!
If its a blood infection, which it clearly was, cutting his arm would be pointless. That's why I didn't do it. But I understand the logic behind it but its so obvious that was not going to make a difference now looking at the ending , and really, it should have been an option right after the bite, enabling best results. Cutting it in about an hour or two, what's the point? It clearly would have taken about an hour or so to get to wherever they went, the hideout or whatever. So why make yourself more disabled if death is inevitable?
Not to say my decision was based on the ending, just edited my comment. This was my choice from the start because I knew it would make no difference.
The idea was solid, but it was to late. What he should have done was the moment you get bitten, you dont have long, but find something to strap around your arm to stop blow flow. Then cut it off ASAP!. you cant like wait hours. then the infection will have traveled around the body.
Not sure how long it takes for blood to travel up and out from the arm, but something tells me, it doesnt take long.
Its the same if you get bit by a snake or something, its all about stopping that poison else your fucked.
I left the arm. I knew it was too late. Lee knew it was too late.
No point going through an unnecessary amount of pain. It helped when strangling the stranger too.
I was surprised at the stats about how many people chopped it off though. It made me smile to think about how many people had kept hope that amputation would save him.
I didn't cut it out. I couldn't. I just try to put myself in his position, it's pretty brutal, it's been some time after I got bit so it's really a slim chance to survive, I couldn't risk it. It would be extremly painful and also I couldn't risk my chance to save Clementine. I mean losing your arm is going to effect you while you search for her, it's a fact, %100. But surviving from becoming zombie was really slim.
Kept my arm, i had a feeling it wouldn't work amputating so why the unnecessary pain? (The virus is airborne so if i died from bloodloss i would Turn anyway)
Also, i definitely wouldn't part with my arms in this environment! Not when i had to save Clementine from the madman!

Right there with ya! :O
Really? That's interesting :O
How does Lee climb up the ladder at the beginning if you cut off his arm?
