    The original DMC is gone, so it's possible that whatever licensing Universal has with the original DMC doesn't extend to the new DMC (which, if I remember correctly, got the rights to the name and the rights to refurbish DeLorean cars, but I don't think they bought the company outright).

    Jen, I think that the new DMC HAD to buy the company outright. Otherwise I don't think they'd have the rights to create NEW DeLoreans, especially the electric ones supposedly coming out next year.

    As for the Lego car, most likely it won't have any of the DMC signage on it and will just ship as "Back to the Future Time Machine" like the Diamond Select toy.
