There is just one thing about this game I didnt like

Why did they have to say G-D so many times? Why couldn't they have just found another way to say it without making fun of God?

I don't think they used the word "god" to make fun of it, when people loose everything, they tend to seek reassurance in their faith.
Words like "goddamn" though, are just used so much, because they wanted to make it close to reality and people talk like that - like it or not - just like they use the F-word very often if they are in bad situations or bad mood, and those are given circumstances in the ZA. People feel bad all the time, they're easy to provoke and tend to say such words all the time. Especially Kenny...

    ... here we go again.
With all the horrible things in the game, you're gonna complaint about the language?
They are just words, that's all. There are no bad words, only bad context.

Fuck it, it's how people talk it has nothing to do with god...

There is over five minutes of plain profanity. Get over it :P

Video game where children die, implied rape, swear words, gore occur but oh geeze they crossed the line by saying "god."

Could it have been over used though?

I love the maturity of people these days... Someone obviously doesnt like when people use that word lightly, and you (being the amazingly nice human being you are) find it amusing to repeat it 9 times for no apparent reason other than having different opinions on the matter..

ZeroShot on the other hand shows the nice and understanding side that people can still display even if his beliefs arnt the same as the poster, he can still be mature about his response. So i applaud that action.

I will however say that it is odd you find that offensive but not any of the pervasive language used constantly throughout the game.

    Ain't I a stinker?

Also, the OP obviously is offended by the word god. So, best to make the OP get used to it so that when they leave their fictional world where no one uses any words that could be considered offensive (Which the OP will inevitably have to do) they're prepared for the real fucking world.

    Also...

Maybe instead of considering just the profanity, maybe someone should ask why Kenny, a supposed Christian, (as he states in episode 5 when Lee asks him to come with him) isn't called out about his profanity, ill-temper, and lack of empathy for his fellow man. I'm not saying he's not - far be it for me to judge - but Lee should have played the religion card.

Kenny: "Lee, you know I'm a Christian man..."
Lee: "Well stop acting like an a**h*** then, Kenny, and let's see some of that Christian charity. F**k it - Let's go get her!"

If you do not like those kinds of words STFU and go play the Wii. Maybe reading the label would be wise. Rated M.

    ZeroShoot says it best.

It's meant to portray realistic scenarios, and realistically a lot of people would be saying things like this. Ask yourself why people say that phrase in real life, and you'll have your answer(maybe).

True. I know I'd probably slip on the tongue. It's a natural response to bad situations really. And no offense, but I don't consider him very mature either, just because others say it doesn't mean you have to, and it's really just a part of life anymore. I don't like curses, but others use it all the time, and sometimes I have to back. It doesn't make it less wrong, but sad to say it's just something you have to get used to. I don't consider it that bad of a thing, considering sometimes it's a reflex, as if you ask for some condolence or things; it's hard to explain. Idek anymore xD

Its called respect. Everyone has their own opinions. Everyone has their own religion. You obviously chose to pick up the atheist religion, which is fine, its your belief, its your life. This guy obviously has some convictions about whatever his religion may be, which is fine, its his belief, its his life.

So I ask again, why be disrespectful to someone voicing their honest opinion? When someone cannot give the respect for something as simple as this it shows the lack of maturity in said person. Obviously its TWD and it is a dark, gritty universe and yes, the real world is like that. But that doesnt give you the right to intentionally offend someone else because you believe something different.

Thank you for the excellent point. I dont mind cursing at all either, I dont use it 24/7 but i would be lying if i said I never do. Its a simple fact of respecting others opinions and beliefs.

Idk if you are commenting on me or not, but I do respect his religion. I consider myself Christian. But I don't expect it to ever change that others will stop cussing or using such "language". So we all just all have to get used to it eventually.

Since when is Atheism a religion?

Atheism is a religion because it is what atheist choose to put their faith in. Christianity is a religion because we put our faith in the idea of our God and scripture. Atheism is a religion because they choose to put their faith in science and evolution and the non belief in God. Most definitions of religion emphasize the belief in a God or Gods, but not All religions worship a god. So why would atheism be any different?

Religion - The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.

Atheism is the lack of belief in a God, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think such religious discussion should take place here, since forums usually have rules against that type of debate(though i don't know where the rules are in this forum).

Yeah, it would be nice to have some rules posted as a sticky. You only know that you have violated some term when you get a message in your inbox about it :D

Sorry, I did not know that, I will stop. Just trying to say it doesnt matter what you believe, everyone has their own belief and its out of respect, maturity and courtesy to not make fun of someone for posting their opinions.

    You mean like this: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6356

(It's stickied in the general chat forum)

As guidelines they are fairly simple. Generally it always comes down to not being a dick.

Yes, but we are not in the general chat forum. I am guessing similar rules apply here, but they are probably more strict (though not much more, from what I've seen).

Im saying it that kinda of thing offends you. Maybe you shouldnt play games that are Rated M. Ex: If you do not like gore then why are you watching a Saw movie. Maybe not exposing yourself to it. Common sense I thought. Go play E for everyone and you would not have this problem.

First of all, if atheism is a religion than 'off' is a television channel, so no.

Second of all, this discussion wasn't about religion, it was about the fact that someone gets offended by using the word 'god'. Whether you believe in those stories or not, using the word 'god' does NOT automatically mean you're disrespecting someone's religion. It's just a word, that's all. It's almost impossible putting opinion in just one word.
The fact that they 'swear' in The Walking Dead with goddamn and other words like that, doesn't mean that Telltale hates religious people. It's the language used in those situations, it's the way people vent their emotions in highly stressed situations. There's NO opinion or hateful reason behind those words AT ALL, so don't worry about it. This is the part where people raise their eyebrows, not because the OP is religious.

Did you hit your head, sir? Atheism has nothing to do with faith at all. It's more of a choice or accepting the fact that the idea of some old bearded fellow in the sky watching over you is just silly.

Look I said I was done with this argument. But since people keep bringing it back up, I will say this:

I have been known to engage in religious debates on both sides of the spectrum. I personally am Christian and I offended one of my atheist friends by saying it was not a religion, they told me it was, that Atheism is a religion because it is what he puts his faith in, just as I put faith in an old bearded fellow in the sky. So I was trying to avoid being offensive to atheists as I assumed they believed their belief was religious.

Personally I put no stock in religion, By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of all denominations call their actions to the will of God. I have seen religion in the eyes of too many murderers. So my faith is much more than a religious one, yet I still play and enjoy this game. So can we please get back to the point of the post that I was trying to get at before this religious or non religious debate started?

Like I said at the beginning, and like I mentioned in my last post I will say it again. Everyone has their own beliefs, im simply asking for others to respect that.

"Accepting the fact"? Since when the existence or non-existence of one (or multiple) God(s) is a certain fact? It's a choice, I choice I respect and understand, but that I don't share.

Returning in topic, saying God damnit is totally normal, even in situations way less dire.
