i use the word god in a lot of my phrases but i never actually think of any god when i say it (sort of unfortunate that the Christian god is referred to as just god) , and "damn it" but i don't actually think of damning anything, the phrases have gone beyond any religious connotations for a lot of people, just like how clinical psychology diagnosis terms have become common language and don't necessarily mean what they originally meant.
like "stress" that was the clinical term for shell-shock first diagnosed in WWI and changed from shell-shock to stress in WWII but now it doesn't have to mean something anywhere near shell-shock it can just mean not having a great day, or you could say someone was a bit "depressed" but that doesn't mean you are diagnosing someone with clinical depression, just a bit sad at the moment.
I think Kenny is the only confirmed Christian in the group, so whenever God was used in a sentence they may not have even thought of any god at all while saying it, just simply using it as a word in a phrase, so just it being common language is probably the reason it is used so much, rather than a lot of intentional blasphemy.
I don't know where you live, but here in the U.S plenty of people say that often. Heck even kids and it makes me wanna smack the crap out of them. =.= I don't really think the writers put that in the game to offend anyone, but their purpose was to make the situation as close to reality as possible.
Also, the op obviously is offended by the word god. So, best to make the op get used to it so that when they leave their fictional world where no one uses any words that could be considered offensive (which the op will inevitably have to do) they're prepared for the real fucking world.

This is the internet. You're going to upset people by doing pretty much anything. xD
Though I disagree, I can see why you'd want to make a post about it. A lot of people have posted up their complaints about game play and content, and have posted up suggestions for improvements they could make in further seasons.
I think that the use of God was appropriate in the game. As others have said, it's a natural/realistic response that most people would have. (I have even have atheist friends who use the phrase "oh God", it's so commonplace now.)
I actually didn't notice it too much, but then again, I'm not offended by it. But it is a mature game with lots of cussing and violence. It's only fair to expect that the future episodes will include "God" references.
Try to take it with a grain of salt. It's a great game and a wonderful story. And I really don't think they were trying to make fun of God by using his name. :P
I'm not one to use profanity, but in a situation like this I probably would. It's the end of society and people aren't going to say "please" and "thank you".

This makes me worry for future generations. They'll be even more stupid than this generation.
