I tend to like consistency, so if possible I'd prefer they would stick to 5 episodes per season, like the first one was.

    no, just 5
  • edited April 2013
    5 ;)

I'd prefer to have 5, 3 hour, quality episodes than 10 (probably) shorter ones. Less is more.
  • edited April 2013
    Nope. 5 is enough.
  • edited April 2013
Just 5 episodes but It'd be better to have longer episodes.

5 episodes is enough for me. I want Telltale to keep doing material other than The Walking Dead as well.

As much as Telltale feels are needed to tell the story.

Just pushing for more for the sake of there being more is not a good idea.

    5 is the magic number

I have only ever known 5 & 6 to work...
7 is just too much and it won't be a game any more it will basically become a TV show...

    Five is enough

Also, they'd totally run out of protagonists to kill in episode 6.

    I like TV Shows. :eyes:

    So I voted 8.

If they opt for a few more early on I wouldn't be totally against it, but if 5 is the goal than they shouldn't try to spread the story thin.
  • edited April 2013
If Telltale had decided to continue releasing more episodes without splitting to seasons, we probably wouldn't mind how many episodes it'd have in total because it's up to the comic's story.

The first season's ending leaves the option of letting the player think what happens to Clem in his/her mind than going by the comics.

    This. lol
    Quality not quantity.

If they can pull it off, sure, let them make more than 5 episodes.
    I voted for 6 Episodes, that´s possible.
  • edited April 2013
6 to 7 episodes is technically possible. Sam & Max Season One had 6 episodes, while Law & Order had 7.

Nevertheless i'd like it to stick with the classic number 5.

You all are saying 5 epsidoes, but whats funny is we are going to see a 6th episode in this season in the coming months as per rumors. Maybe you should all just go higher that way, we aint all chatting on here for months while we wait for another episode.

The Bonus Episode is between Season 1 to Season 2, not exactly connected to Season 1.

Originally season one ended in 2012.

ok well i guess you are right, though from what i read seemed to be still connected to season 1. Either way, id love to see more then 5 episodes. I also think they should delay on release dates so we have like a week or two per episode release. Cause I do not know about everyone here but i play all the way through once an episode starts.

5 episodes of Season one + 5 episodes of Season two + 5 episodes of the final season = 15 episodes of the best drama in video games ever.

It was initial plan of the Telltale games, I guess.

hope it goes beyond 3 seasons.

It should be at least 20 seasons

I trust in Telltale. They've proven they know how to write a story, so however many episodes they think they should write their next story in, their judgement is best :)

Oh boy, do you really want another Supernatural thing going on?

Man, that was a good show once.

I don't want a season longer than 6 episodes (it worked for Sam and Max), but I really want a harsh finale to the second season that comes up in the continuity of season 3.

So maybe a ten episode arc, but two distinct seasons.

That's completely over the line and I'd probably start losing interest if there were too many seasons.

That would turn TTG into TWDGames. They made several other great games too that don't get as much attention, which is a shame. So with all the popularity TWD is getting, I won't be surprised if they did maybe even 4 or 5 seasons. But I want them to spread their talent and make other games too besides TWD.

6 episodes only worked for Sam and Max because they were separate cases with their own story with only a overall story with plots and when season 2&3 began to have more of a long term story with T.H.E.M and Max's phychic powers there were only 5 episodes...

Any more than 5 with a game so focused on an overall story between episodes will make the series seem like it is being dragged out to make more money...

For example I really think BTTF should really have been 4 episodes as the 4th and 5th episodes as good as they were probably would have been better if they were one slightly longer episode and as 2 episodes it felt like it was being extended just to fit the 5 episode quota which overall I think worsened the series as a whole.

I'm going to have to disagree here. TV shows work perfectly well with 20+ episodes a season, and I see no reason why a video game would be any different. I realize that a TV episode is less than half as long as a typical Telltale episode, but they're still pumping out more stories and longer runtimes.

Your S&M example is kind of off. Season 1 had just as much of an arc as Season 2 did. There's no reason Season 2 wouldn't have worked with 6 or more episodes.

There's no inherent rule or reason that any number of episodes would or wouldn't work. If written properly, Telltale could make any number of episodes work as a season. I like 5 because it gives enough time to feel like the story but it doesn't limit Telltale to working on one game for too long. Spending a year per game would feel like too much. But I would be okay with as many as 8 episodes per season, or as few as 3.

Fillers, fillers, fillers. I haven't seen a show with a coherent continuous storyline make a season without fillers while having 20+ episodes per one of them.

Fillers aren't fun. You want an example of a great show without fillers? Sherlock. Want another one? Game of Thrones. And what about the lovely Breaking Bad? Boardwalk Empire, eh? All of these are 13 episodes per season maximum and 3 episodes per season minimum.

No coherent arc story show I'm aware of keeps a 20+ episode per season schedule and doesn't pump out filler crap.

Shows like Twilight Zone can do it, but the episodes aren't connected, at least not directly. And they still end up with enough "meh" episodes.

I always thought 26 episodes per season was the norm for every TV show. I suppose I've been out of the loop for a long time, i rarely watch TV at all anymore.

Generally I have found 6-13 is the norm at least in Britain and with British TV shows like Doctor Who

I said 5. It worked or Season 1, it'lll work for Season 2. But I guess I'll be fine with whatever Telltale wants to go with.

5 there are other series i want to see and not just Walking Dead

    10 .

    I'm being serious .

I want to have as much game-time as possible, but they shouldn't sacrifize quality for it. 5 Episodes are somewhat around 10-12 hours, which is fine by me, 10, epic, great episodes, with not a single filler episode among them is just a pipe dream, at least not possible in a rhythm of 1 episode every 1-2 months.

So handle it as you think it is best Telltale, I'll be the first to cheer when there's more than 5 episodes, but I'm not going to complain-at-all if you stick to 5.

5 because you should never change a winning formula ;) and also cause im npt rich and if i want to buy the wolf among us i probably wont afford 7 or more episodes
