Winter is comming...

edited May 2013 in The Walking Dead
As you might have noticed, the actions of the last episodes of the first season unfold in late autumn. In the comics Robert Kirkman, shows us how the cold affects the zombies, they freezing! In fact, winter is the safest period in the universe TWD, but there are new dangers: deadly cold and hunger. This opens up new opportunities for making the scenario and for the disclosure of the characters. Are you agree with me?

P.S. I hope that they doesn't skip the winter season, as AMC skip it in TV-series, that was pretty dumb (8 mounth later) c'mon you skip the winter only because you don't want to shoot series in cold weather. But the game it's different situation, thet can do anything. So, i hope that Telltale will not skip the winter like TV show.

AMC is shooting season 4 in May, so I doubt that they will include snow in the show yet.

But yeah, it would be awesome for season 2 of the game to be set in winter.

I think the reason they skipped Winter in the AMC series because they started filming outside of winter, and couldn't afford to wait or to fake it due to budget cuts and time constraints. As for the games, I would like it to go into Winter at some point, especially as it was one of the many arguments used by Lilly and Kenny in S1 for leaving / staying at the motor inn.

Sounds like fun, would be nice to have a snowball throwing weapon :]

But it doesn't always get very cold in Georgia, especially in the southern part. It may not get cold enough to freeze very often.

Yeah, maybe just to an extent.

Agree zev zev! Winter could throw up all sorts of unexpected things. unlocked doors frozen shut, ice crossings, harder to get away from zombies, could be good.

We haven't considered the possibility of traveling to another state, maybe where the weather is a little bit harsher during winters.

Why in the world would AMC's most popular show ever have budget cuts?

Higher profits I guess. I mean, people will watch it even with the budget cuts in season 2 and 3, so it means more profit for AMC. They're dicks like that.

I love winter scenery, and the situations we could get into regarding cold weather in the game could be very intriguing indeed.

For example: someone (maybe Clementine) got seriously sick, because of cold weather, and you must find medicine (antibiotics pills for example), or the patient will not live long.
    Or other situations.

Plus, if the new PC was a bandit, a winter environment would be good reason as to why he'd wear a balaclava throughout most of the game. ;)

Winter is Coming. Stark Family, Thats the first thing I thought of when reading the subject.

But yes, Winter would be sweet to see in TWD Game, new challenges, new experiences, new visuals. It would be all around a nice change up!

Right. That is a possibility for sure.

-Trying to cross the roads and black ice causes an accident.
-Other groups will go dormant, and so run-ins with other groups will become rare.
-Will call for greater protection from the cold wind, rain, and snow/hail. (Shelter)
    -Warmer clothing.
    -Secure place away from walkers.
-Trying to cross waterways could prove fatal.
    -Walkers slow down.
-Supplies must be reserved and extra-carefully rationed.
    -Fires must be monitored constantly.
-Sickness/disease will run rampant throughout groups, killing off members or leaving them vulnerable.
    -Desperate times of infection.
-New group members found while looking for supplies and shelter.

Stuff like this I imagine would break the barrier.

Me as well. Although winter in Moscow is pretty bad isnt it? So it probably suits you a bit better than Me in the Good ole state of Wyoming (Still gets really cold here too tho). Great show BTW.

But yea, I would really like winter in this game, It would add soo much suffering and hardship to the game.. Maybe not set the whole thing in winter tho, maybe just pick up with season 2 episode one at the tail end of winter, or end season 2 at the beginning of winter.

Well a winter in Georgia is nothing compared to a russian winter, but it would make a nice change, and I really loved the nuclear winter setting in the game Metro 2033, if anyone knows it. So I agree, Telltale, we want winter :D

Yes, but In comics we can see snow, and zombies was freezing, so I think that's enough for call it winter :)

P.S. We get the warm weather 2 days ago, and the snow began to melt only today.

^Nice. I like New Jersey's temperature, although I feel Summer is too hot, and I do wish the Winter was a little colder. I can deal with extreme cold, but I wouldn't want to be in it for too long :P So would you consider so far Winter? Or... is it still just Spring? I don't know if others change their seasonal settings to accustom to the difference in weather.

They might have to move out of Georgia to make the winter setting more tense.

im enjoying the Georgia setting i must say,but a new state would be cool also.

I've Read the comics by now, and I definitely want to see frozen walkers, that'd be great you know. In the winter months they could go scavenge pretty easy, and stockpile for the summer. Kind of the opposite of what people do today, stockpiling for winter.

And frankly, it'd be fun chopping frozen walkers to pieces :D

Whether or not we see a lot of snow, I still think the basic hazards of weather could be interesting to explore.

First though was Game of Thrones, Episode 1 should be winter and maybe Episode 2 as you said winter would be fun.
