I didn't like the trailer nothing about it looks Superman-ey to me. It looks all dark and depressive.

Oh wow, we're using Superman as an analogue for Jesus? That's so uncommon, I only trip over 50 examples of it on my way to the bathroom!

So what DC are saying is Batman is better then Jesus.

There are lots of movies where references to a savior can be found.

And besides that, you would prefer a movie exploring Superman's psyche and emotional weaknesses? Yes, let's make an iconic figure--who once stood for "truth, justice and the American way" and who once was a symbol for all that was good and right in the world, fights evil, and has all this power that we do not--into a broody, selfish, insensitive, emotionally weak character; and we should explore how he feels if Lois dumps him for another guy. Oh, wait. They did that already, and that movie sucks.

    I'm not interested. :/

How would his parents know that he'd have super powers on Earth when on Krypton apparently everyone's normal strength etc? Did they go there themselves on vacation or something? Did they fight crime and get worshipped while they were there? Does this mean they secretly had a spaceship that they could have escaped in instead of sending their infant out by himself? Are they really secret assholes?

    INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

In case you haven't noticed, I made a new thread for this. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner. Oh well.

Anyway, here's that new Man of Steel trailer. Sort of.

    My favorite is Ice Climbers

There wasn't one already? Ryan have really been slacking lately.

I banned him for questioning my Force Abilities. And for having that irritating dancing Guybrush in his sig*.
*Note: I'm kidding, Ryan's not been banned at all.

    Good call.

But sure enough wasn't the Batman really the DC thread?, lets face it, Batman is the main comic in DC in my opinion followed by Superman, There has to be a reason half of the Injustice characters are Batman characters. I didn't mind people discussing other DC things in the Batman thread.
  • DC Superheroes that need their own movie:

    Green Arrow
    Wonder Woman
    Martian Manhunter
    Captain Atom
    Etrigan the Demon
    Huntress
    Booster Gold
    Captain Marvel
    Detective Chimp
    The Flash
    Blue Beetle

Hey Sam & Max kick him overboard in the sig :/

Angry face. Batman is not DC end all be all.

Batman, Nightwing, Joker, Harley, Bane, and Catwoman. 6 out of 24. Hardly half.

Ok not half the roster but still 6 characters is Batman, Everyone else get's 2 or 3 characters per franchise. Now i'm not sure about this since mainly i'm a fan of Batman,Flash,Green Lantern, and Superman so i don't know all the comic series. Also i said In my opinion Batman seemed like the most important of the DC universe. Again this is my opinion but the way i look at it, When was the last time Superman got a game? Batman in the last 5 years has had Lego Batman 1 & 2 and Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and the upcoming Arkham game and the 2D Arkham game coming for Vita and 3DS. Batman many times has been the one who saved everyone in movies for example.

In Justice League Crisis on Two Earths its Batman who manages to trick Owlman. In Justice League Doom he is the one who has to save the Justice League after they are all attacked. Again this is all my opinion.

FIVE CHARACTERS belong to SUPERMAN YOU DICK

Ok ok so I made a freaking mistake give me a break I only read like one Superman comic and Linkara's Superman reviews mostly. fair enough I should know Doomsday was a Superman character but please stop taking it so freaking personal, I said its my opinion. Maybe in your opinion it's Superman who is DC's main comic, maybe in someone else's opinion it's Flash but in my opinion it's Batman.
  • edited April 2013
OK, enough. Stop snapping at each other, stop insulting each other, just... stop.

If it's primarily Batman-centric, it goes in the Batman thread. If not, it goes here.

    Now behave.

EDIT: For example: The next Scribblenauts may be set in the DC Universe.
  • Telltale should do a game set in the DC universe. Maybe they could make it a sequel to Batman: Nine Lives.

My apologies to Ryan btw, got a bit overly defensive.

I couldn't care less about Scribblenauts, therefore I have no opinion on the matter.

Love the idea of SuperDoomsday. Wonder if we can make Bat-Wonder Woman while we're at it. Heh, with all the characters they claim to have, I wonder if the weirdest Green Lanterns(Ch'p and B'dg) will end up in it.

Also, the though of having Aquaman and Cthulhu in the same game makes me happy.
  • Seeing as how Cthulhu is practically a sea monster, wouldn’t Aquaman be able to control him? He goes from being a worthless twat in orange and green tights to a badass god of the sea.

As I've maintained over the years, Aquaman was only a worthless twat in the early appearances(when DC was making EVERYTHING kid friendly, aka. Adam West days of Batman) and Superfriends. Technically, that's armor, not orange tights. And yes, Aquaman would technically be able to control Cthulhu.

Cthulhu is not a sea monster you pigs in blankets he is a intrademensional organism. Unless his evolution was dictated by earths pressures on a amoeba to full grown organism, Aquaman does not have dictate over him. The simple condition of being a water favorable organism does not give Aquaman control over him.

Teaser for Arkham Origins. Full trailer's due on the 20th. Still don't care.

I can't get excited about the game until I see, you know, gameplay.

I'll be honest, I have mixed feelings about Slade/Deathstroke being the main villain for Arkham Orgins. on one hand he was a pretty damn good villain in the Teen Titans TV Series. But I feel that there are more villains who derserve to be a main villain, Some being Riddler,Penguin,Ra's or what about Hush? Maybe adapt the storyline of Batman:Hush with Hush pulling the strings on what happens. Maybe even still have Deathstroke as a villain just not a main villain. Just my personal opinion :/

It's a prequel and Hush's game origin was in City.

I don't think you really know Deatstroke. He's as good as Batman. He's the perfect physical foe. That's what has been lacking in the Arkham games.

I love Scribblenauts. The idea of a DC version pleases me. Too bad I'll probably be broke by the time it comes out. :(

Meh fair enough i had not started getting into the comics until recently where my first Batman graphic novel or comic arc whatever was Dark Knight Returns but i have read others like Hush, Killing Joke and most of the Batman & Robin series. Fair enough Hush was introduced in Arkham City. But he just felt like a side-lined side quest which yes i know its not the main story but when Hush
escapes into Gotham City as Bruce Wayne
Batman does not seem to care much. Sure enough he had bigger things happening with Protocall 10 but he could have told Oracle to keep watch for Bruce Wayne's DNA or if he tries anything. Surely Hush would attempt to at least get into Wayne manor. I do believe that after reading Batman:Hush that he should be given a lead villain role in a game or something again like i said pulling the strings on everything that happens. Maybe if there is an actual sequel to Arkham City we will see Hush in a lead role :/

    He’s not. Black Mask is.

I hate teasers for full trailers. But gotta say. Glad we're getting a look prior to E3. Wasn't expecting anything until then.
