should I worry about bad choices?

edited June 2013 in The Walking Dead
I started playing the game (about 25 mins in) and it is gripping me so far. But I am making all these choices...not a worry in itself, but it leaves me wondering if I could screw up the endgame by doing something I don't realise early on.

My question is: do you get punished for making "bad" choices? And I don't mean necessarily stupid choices, but things that are not obvious at the time, such as "Do you want Pepsi or Coke? Pepsi? Ok. You will all die in two chapters time".

I assume it is not a one-true-path game, but I don't want an awful ending because of something I did a long time back (the whole "X will remember that" events).

Any non-spoilery answers would be appreciated.

Do not worry, the choices will not punish you that much, some of them will but they will not affect the ending, just the way you perceive some people.

Thanks, that's a relief. I would prefer just to play through without second guessing every decision.

If I may give you a tip: Don't ever change your decisions, it isn't about being as much of a good man as possible, but it is about how you would act and decide in those given situations. And the strongly limited time you're given to make those decision is a part of it. Don't second guess your decisions, live with them, like them or not, be proud of them or not, regret them or not, that's part of the fun. Having your personal ZA experience, where bad choices are made as well as good ones, no one's perfect.

Very few decisions could bite you in the ass a bit, but none of them are game-breaking or plot-changing.

You don't get punished for making bad choices.

You get punished regardless of what choice you make. That's kind of the whole principle of the game...
