Title of 205 revealed!

edited March 2008 in Sam & Max
Hi guys!

I just checked my account and saw that the title for 205 is already there!

it's...

"What's up, Beelzebub?"

Sounds like another parody title to me, along the lines of

"What's up, pussycat?"

In my mind, this confirms everything we already knew, namely that episode 5 takes place in H.E.L.L.....

So definitely Satan. Stinky is still my guess.
  • edited March 2008
Could also be a pun on this.

Girl Stinky has flies all around her, so possibly.

    Thanks, Kord!

Satan is also the Father of All Lies or something like that.

For those who didn't get it, Beelzebub means Lord of the Flies.

Just an idea...what if it's a parody of "What's up, Doc?"

It isn't 'What's Up' (that was an error on Kord's part), it is 'What's New'.

That title also recalls to me the line in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey where they ask the devil, "How's it hanging, Beelzebub?"

I wonder how many outtakes there will be from the recording sessions as far as pronouncing that goes. I can't even pronounce it!
  • edited March 2008
    Oh no! It's gone!
  • edited March 2008
Maybe it was put up by accident?
  • edited March 2008
Maybe it was...what if it's as much a title as "The Jaws of Bliss" was?
  • edited March 2008
    Huh? Now it's gone again?

So maybe it was just a production name or something.

Or maybe someone was too eager to put the title somewhere. I just hope it didn't cost someone his job... :)

    well that wouldn't be good
  • edited March 2008
I kinda hope it was a trick to throw everyone off, and the real title and them turn out to be completely different. ;)

Knowing Telltale, it probably is a tirck. "What's up, Beezelbub?" doesn't sound like other titles of other Sam and Max episode titles (Moai Better Blues, Night of the Raving Dead).

Beelzebub is something from hell or something go to wikipedia
and now here's Mr. Spatula with the weather!

I thought it sounded matching. And Beelzebub is a nickname for Satan.

Or it coulda been accidentally revealed by Tobacco's work on the website...

Or could be a red herring
  • edited March 2008
i think it was a bogus name put up as an easter egg so that someone would notice it and stir all those gossips over on the telltale forums into a frenzy

oh wait.. this is the telltale forum? damn
but most likely it was just a working title that slipped out by accident, or maybe not.. cause if the title was incorect, a telltalie probably would have shot it down by now

but either way... this thread is strangely devoid of any of the telltale crew's random, but often meaningful mumblings

We do have a game to make we can't all be foruming it up all the time.

That's like someone calling someone argumentative, with the person's response being "I am not!"

    I am not!:)

    huh? sorry wasn't paying attention

only one way to solve this... place your bets ladies and gentlemen

(or we could either just use the tried and true method of putting a net over the door, catching one of them, and clubbing them till they talk) or just politely asking if the title is correct could work too
  • edited March 2008
sounds goodi have no idea what he's talkin bout
  • edited March 2008
I vote for option a. I've had an urge to go out clubbing for quite a while now. :D
  • edited March 2008
i vote for option D: dance till Telltale gives us a early trailer :D
  • edited March 2008
    I vote D, D!

For thee love of goodness! It's "What's new, Beelzebub?".

    Oh, and Happy Easter! :D
  • edited March 2008
All other titles are film references.. i think (201 may not be)... would this one be any different?
  • edited March 2008
    i don't know i just work here
  • edited March 2008
So definitely Satan. Stinky is still my guess.

In 204 if you go back to your future office after you have shown the patent to Ol' Stinky, if you talk to Max, Stinky still owns everything in the future. I assume that whatever takes place in 205 has already happened by the time of the future office encounter... And Stinky survived and doing well.
Or... I should just wait for the episode.

i like the title, hope it remains the same
  • edited March 2008
yeah i like it alot to

I like the title as well, and it would kinda make sense.

Who else would want souls? and it would also confirm my suspicions about 201 about demonic forces being the master somewhere.
