Wyatt's Story: Did You Get Out of the Car?

As I scrolled through the treads, I noticed that many people actually DIDN'T leave the car, and Eddie did instead. I thought that was a rare occurrence! So my question is, did you stay behind or go outside?

...God dammit scissors.

That is what I don't understand. First time round I got out the car, helped the man on the ground, Eddie drove off, yet Wyatt didn't want to go with me at the end. It felt like I got punished for doing the right thing. Thoughts?

Eddie got out of the car in my play through. I'm not entirely sure what determined that though. I drove off and left him. I didn't mean to do that. I wanted him to come along

There's no way around it. You seperate from Eddie, no matter what.

Edit; may have misunderstood your post. I read that you wanted Eddie to come along.

I wanted to stay but i fucked up on the choices and got out the first time, i still played through and just did not click the right thing (So everything went the way i wanted to).

I fixed that the second time, not cause i did not like what happen but cause i just pressed the wrong buttons.

I lost rock paper scissors and had to get out.

Eddie beat me at RPS, the Game of Champions. I volunteered to get out anyway, so it didn't matter. Also, to those of us who left the car, how many of us actually tried to save the guy we hit? I tried to drag him back, because it seemed like a waste of time to go out into the fog if I didn't at least try to bring him back.

I knew he was a goner, so I just set him down.

As far as I understand, you can only get Wyatt and Russell to come if you say "you might find friends or family".

I think Wyatt goes no matter what if he stayed in the car, because of his guilt at leaving Eddie behind and the hope that Eddie survived and was at the community.

Ended up winning rock paper scissors in my first playthrough. I left Eddie.

I tried to convince Eddie to let me go but I refused to play Rock Paper Scissors so Eddie ended up leaving :/

When I left Eddie I felt so bad :(

I did everything to get out of the car, and eventually stayed in. Weird.

I really wanted to get out of the car or wait for Eddie, because I liked Eddie more than I did Wyatt. He reminds me of my best friend IRL. Sadly, my insane skillz at Rock Paper Scissors in real life transfer over to video games, and they never let up. Even when I really want them to.

    Yes I lost! 2-1

On my playthrough, I beat Eddie in Rock, paper, scissors, he went, and I ended up leaving him. I feel no sympathy for him.

I won at Rock, Paper, Scissors and felt bad about leaving.

Same here. I got really competitive for a moment and completely forgot what we were fighting for as i was trying to win, but lost anyway. :(

I tried to save the guy even though i was certain that if he wasn't already a walker, he would be very soon. I won't last long in the apocalypse...

Yes; I suck balls at RPS.

I was so close to winning, I won the first time, then we drew then I lost and then I thought I should pick scissors but at the last second I choose paper.
The worst part was Eddie picked paper too, I was so annoyed, he won the next round :(

Eddie is a bastard. He said I always pick Rock... Gee, wonder why jackass
    <---

It got even worse when I finally beat him by using paper to cover his Rock. "Stupid Rock!" Felt no sympathy for him after that.

    Rock failed me.

I never fail. It must have been an imposter.

I didn't get out of the car. If Eddie hit him, he needs to man up and check himself. It pissed me off how he tried to make Wyatt go, and Eddie seemed like a major screw-up anyway with shooting some guy by accident earlier. I was glad to be rid of him TBH.

For people having trouble losing, just pick rock the entire time. Worked for me!
  • edited July 2013
funny, I had one a hand and Eddie had one a hand, we then got three ties in a row, before I used Rock144 to win, then God for Rock.

I play RPS competitively in real life... so yeah...

I would always play competitively in real life, so I guess my mad skills transferred over.

On my first playthrough I had to leave the car because I lost the game of rock, paper scissors but I didn't want to go and felt that the other guy cheated. On my second game save I straight up refused to play his game and made him go out there. He fucked up and hit the guy and he was more concerned about the person he hit than I was so I didn't see why I should go out in the cold I only played his game in my first playthrough after I volunteered to go because he was being a pussy and I had more courage but he insisted we decide with with a game to make it fair. Then when I realised he was gonna leave me out there I thought fuck that. I'm gonna make him go every time now so I can leave his arse. At least he has the cop he ran over for company. LOL

I thought it interesting to note an observation I made.

In my playthrough, Wyatt lost the game against Eddie, so Wyatt went. Wyatt decided to help the cop, Eddie drove away.

However, during the Tavia bit, the first time Wyatt stayed with Vince at the camp. Then on a hunch, I decided to change the dialogue Tavia says, being more convincing and promising (talking about friends possibly at settlement), this time Wyatt did go with Tavia. In fact, this time everyone but Vince went. The first time it was just Shel and Bonnie.

I think Wyatt at the end stays at the camp if he wad abandoned because he doesn't trust people and if he stayed in the car he would never know that eddie would have abandoned him...

Doesn't have to be, see post above yours. If you get Tavia to say that there are possibly friends at the settlement. Wyatt is convinced, and wants to find Eddie, even though (in my case) Eddie drove away from Wyatt. Which is funny, because if Tavia is talking about not promising anything, Wyatt will not go.

Note: I only replayed the Tavia bit, all previously were untouched, so it is legit.

It might be like Episode 4 where if you do certain choices they will come no matter what and if you do other choices Tavia's dialogue affects whether they come or not...

Yeah, it made me wonder how much effect the other parts have on deciding who will come with Tavia and who not. It seems Tavia's dialogue is more important.

Obviously, in my case, Vince's story did have the biggest impact on not going. Because I killed Justin, Vince will not go, no matter what Tavia says. So it seems Vince is less influenced by what Tavia says than the others.

anyone who got out the car:

what did you think of the fog clearing ?
  • edited July 2013
Jeez, I thought it's impossible to lose at RPS, I played this story 4 times I think and no matter what I did, I always ended up winning.

P.S. I got everyone to go with Tavia at first try.
