That to, or if Kenny is alive, you know that will be me quite a bit in season 2 I just noticed.

Can't agree, you know my position about Kenny's fate...

I know your thoughts about it, I am not trying to sway you but I do know that I will be happy as can be if he made it, and about as sad as Lee's death if he did not, but 100% that will be me when Clementine shows up.

I'll have extremely mixed feelings about it.

I have yet to see any rational explanation for why so many people hate Vernon and think he's an evil, greedy asshole.

All he did was look out for his own group. And if that meant screwing over a group of strangers, so be it. I would've done the exact same thing if I were in his shoes.

How, exactly? 400 days didn't tell us jack about what happened to Vernon. All we got is a line from Joyce that it was thanks to trusting strangers they lost Brie and Vernon, and Boyd being a righteous prick about Vernon's attempts to protect his group.

Unless we get some confirmation that Vernon screwed over his own group, he did nothing wrong in season 1. If he did screw over his own group, then...yeah he's an asshole.:D

I still fail to see what is so bad about Boyd, to me he was the only nice member of the group.

They wouldn't have badmouthed him so much if he didn't ditch them, but I guess there's no real proof, but it's more plausible than a survivor from that damned alleyway.

Also, I liked Boyd... I was sad when I got him killed.

He's not a bad guy, I was just annoyed by how he criticizes Vernon for stealing the boat, an act that very well saved his own life.

Boyd is the only one who badmouths him though...

And Boyd wasn't a bad guy, I know. Also, he get bonus points from me cause he was into art.:D

I love art to, and it looked good, to bad he never finished it, it was really depressing to look at the art and know it won't ever be completed.

She was saying it was thanks to trusting strangers that they lost Brie and Vernon. Joyce was damning the boat, not Vernon.

Boyd even says right after that "Vernon and the boat was the reason the group fell apart, not trusting strangers" to argue with Joyce's comment, implying that Joyce thought their loss was the strangers fault, and Boyd thought that, no, it was entirely Vernon's fault.

I wish Boyd was with the group in season 1 . He would be like a grandpa to both Clem and Duck ( and maybe Ben ) , And I can imagine he would say this to Larry:
" Listen son , either you sit down or I will have to ground you for three weeks " .
  • edited September 2013
True. I guess there's no evidence for or against it. :/

I can't say he did or didn't without sounding like a certain group of people.

    That would've been awesome.

Larry: "Go suck a railroad spike, you wrinkly little shit!"

Yup, those two would've been as thick as thieves.

Boyd was the only really good guy on Vernon's group. He was a nearly saint. Do you remember if in ep 4. If you talked that you can find escape from underground my yourself, Boyd would say: "We cannot allow this man to wander through the dark canalization alone" ?

And did you know that if Lee acts like a complete dick to Vernon's group, threatening and lying to them, everyone in the group will urge Vernon not to help this psychopath of a stranger. Everyone except Vernon.

He asks Lee if there're any sick people in his group, and he invariably tells Vernon about Omid. And Vernon agrees to go with this scumbag, just on the off chance he can help someone who needs medical care. Another complete stranger. And Vernon doesn't even know if Lee is telling the truth.

If Boyd's a saint for wanting to help a decent honest man, then Vernon's leagues ahead of him for wanting to help any stranger who needs medical care, whether they're asshole's or not.

The difference is, Vernon then ordered the group to (optionally) beat up the people and (invariably) leave them for dead

Yeah and Boyd would grab Larry's ear and say " Now go apologise to Lee and Kenny , or else you won't eat anything today mister ! "

    No.

Alright, let's look at this from Vernon's POV.

A group of strangers have barged into Savannah, bringing a horde of walkers straight to your once-perfectly safe shelter. They've also caused the death of a close group member with their stupidity (Brie), and have no qualms about leaving you and your group to die by the very horde they led to your doorstep.

    Fuck that group.
  • edited September 2013
I agree, I would've done the same thing as Vernon. But mainly out of fear.

At least if everyone goes to the hospital, Vernon's group leaves a note saying they're sorry. It's better than just beating the crap out of them and taking it for the lulz.
  • edited September 2013
And looking at it from Vernon's point of view, what he did was nothing compared to what Lee's group did to him.

And everyone in Lee's group is young and able-bodied, everyone in Vernon's group is either old or sick. At least he gives Lee and co. a fighting chance to live when he steals the boat. Brie didn't get any such luxury from Kenny and Ben.

I would've been pissed at them, but I wouldn't leave them to die. I'd just fuckin run out of Savannah and let the horde collect there.

Vernon didn't leave them to die either, he just took the easiest escape route from the city from Lee's group. And Lee's group of young people had a better chance of escaping Savannah by fuckin running than Vernon's group of old people. Vernon gave Lee a chance to survive, if nothing else. More than Brie ever got.

"If you keep treating people like this, you old shit, your days in this group are numbered!"

I thought Vern's plan was foolhardy. I would have taken my chances in the morgue with the medically fragile fossils. Put the sign back, bring the supplies into the main area, secure the door, keep quiet, put the kettle on..

And wait for it to all blow over.

    52727-imgur-the-simple-image-sharer-S8gQ.gif

Some of the herd would have moved on eventually, however trips out into the sewers were going to be a bitch.

I get why Vernon did what he did, doesn't make his grimacey face any more tolerable.

And Boyd was rather diplomatic when speaking of the boat and what they as a group had done.

I love Shawn of the Dead, you forgot him repeatedly saying he will kill his dad while saying he is sorry.

God I loved every time they said that, I think it was three times with it getting more complicated each time, still my favorite Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie, even though I do loved the other movies they are in.

    Shaun :p

    Sorry, I'm a pedantic asshole.

I had to work with it, couldn't do direct quotes.

It's also "wait for this to all blow over", as opposed to "it".
