Best Mobile Game you've played?

edited July 2013 in General Chat
Hey guys, I'm new here and I thought I should ask you guys a question that can help me as well as other members out and in the process, get to know each others' tastes. So what mobile game, whether it be on Android devices or iOS, etc, have you guys really been blown away by?

And it doesn't have to be story-driven or emotionally powerful, it can be whatever you've played. But you have to share your opinion of it for the others to try.

I'll go first!
Well, not recently, but I've tried out the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney collection on iOS and it was my first introduction to the series. I was impressed since I like detective-types of games and I recommend anyone to try it out. ace_attorney_phoenix_wright_trilogy_hd.jpg

Your turn! What game has blown you away? :D

Honestly the same for me. I always wanted to get into the Phoenix Wright series and I'm glad to have finally gotten to play it with the trilogy. Right now I'm on Reunion, and Turnabout on Justice for All. I even started a thread for Phoenix Wright to see what other people's thoughts on the series was.

Awesome! Yeah, I found this series out completely by accident and I'm glad that I did! It's a nice series and it would help that I'm into the detective/lawyer types of games. They're usually fun to play, this one just managed to have a nice story with it.

Well, I guess I'll throw another game out there for you guys. I played Contre Jour recently on Android and it's a fun game where you have to guide this thing to a specific location in each stage. But I think one of the things that i rather enjoyed about it was the visuals and music. Very soothing as well as nice visuals to support that. It kinda gives you that flower/limbo feeling.

    The Simpsons Tapped Out.

    Best or most addictive? ;)

I agree that Contre Jour is good. It was in a Humble Bundle a while back.

The mobile version of World of Goo is also good and I'm fond of the CrossMe games, The Room and Vector.

The mobile version of ScummVM is good and I enjoyed DotT on it quite a lot. The Dig can't be played to finish on it though and the fighting in the Indy games is really awkward.

It could best or addictive and I agree that sometimes both of those words can't be used to describe the same game lol :D But it could be anything that you've played.

Daishi - The Simpsons tapped out, hmm, I haven't tried that yet but I've heard good reviews, isn't it like all about the in-game transactions, etc though? Correct me if I'm wrong. But I'll give it a try. :)

flesk - Ahh yes, I've also played World of Goo, although I couldn't figure out what to do at first ;) but that was a good game (with nice visuals). Vector was pretty good as well. I haven't played any of the other games that you mentioned but I'm gonna try them out, definitely. I love indie games since they have some unique game experiences to offer.

Thanks guys, I'll throw another game I've played out there for you. Rayman Jungle Run. A great game with nice visuals and it brings back many memories.

I've recently been doing a bit of mobile gaming, and I realize just how much it doesn't compete with game consoles, be they the Wii, DS, or Vita.

There are only a few compelling mobile games, and they only costs like 3 dollars. To game on anything else requires a totally different flavor of gamer--even for the Wii. You're not going to sit and play things like World of Goo, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Fractal, Pulse or Organ Trail on your phone very often. I mean, sure, you might buy them, but anyone actually interested in gaming for longer than it takes to take a dump is usually going to defer to playing games on a gamer-centric device as well as be willing to pay more than 5 bucks for a good game.

I completely agree with you. I enjoy games more on a game-centric device myself, even if it's a handheld like PS Vita or DS. But there has been tech advances in the mobile industry that we can now just download great experiences on our phones. Of course, how smooth the experience will be depends on our phones'/tablets' capabilities. But obviously, no matter how advance technology can get, it's just better to game on a console/PC/handheld. That being said, I also think there are games, or as I would like to call them experiences, that can only be satisfied on a mobile (cell phones/tablets) device. It is, I think, also an alternative to spending money on a handheld when you can just play it on your current mobile device. Those are my 2 cents :D But I agree with you.

Oh I do wanna mention that I've been having some fun with Jetpack Joyride :D
I've played both the mobile version as well as the PS3 version (same thing) and the PS3 version has trophies so I went for that. :D It's fun and the concept is funny.
