Why hate on Becca ?

Why do people hate on Becca , i mean she is just a kid .
Yes she is acting very rude and dark like Carl , but maybe Shel can change her depending on our choices like when season 2 comes out , Becca will become a good person if your Shel was nice and din't decide to kill the intruder and kill Stephanie . Or if you make Shel rude and kill the intruder and Stephanie than Becca will become a villain in season 2 or possibly like Lilly i guess .
So why do you guys hate on Becca ?

Because she is annoying? Personally I don't hate her, but that's my guess.

Well in the 20 minutes or so we knew her to me she seemed like a little psychopath. If we had her instead of Clem I would have abandoned her or probably shot her myself. I could definitely see her going the way of Lily, that being said she could change over a few episodes.

I dont hate her at all and I dont think she was being particularly rude. She is growing up in an environment that is hardening her. She's learning that you have to be uncompromising to survive. What is she, 12 or 13? She's not as innocent as Clementine because she's not as young. If Clem was that age, she might be acting the same way. Thats why her sister is trying to preserve her innocence. Ive always thought people were being too hard on her. She's a kid.

I'm willing to say I'd realistically in an apocalypse would either end up as a Ben or A Becca...

I'd either be someone completely useful who gets everyone killed...
Or I'd end up as someone very warped who is not above killing...

She seemed to be acting pretty realistically. Everyone's personalities (or mood) had changed after the break in. Go back and replay it, and she acts how a normal young person would act. Also, if you let her check on the guns, she won't get upset at Shel...or rather if you're nice to her, she's nice to you, just like in real life.

Seriously, if you tell her "Fine. You do it" during the kill or not kill Stephanie, she'll actually have a shocked look on her face, and then recollect herself. I really do believe she was trying to build a shield around herself, and wasn't trying to be "annoying" as some are putting it. Also, everyone during the camp scene during Tavia's story was in a bad mood, and not just Becca, considering all that's happened to them.

I guess none of you have had siblings or teenagers to deal with.

She's a kid growing up in Hell.

Seemed unnaturally normal during Day 236, but the break-in obviously hurt her. Can't really blame her outlook later on.

I f*cking hate her. Because she is annoying and I hate her attitude, just argh! I want to strangle her, I hate her so much!
  • edited July 2013
I didn't exactly hate her, nor like her tooo much, she was okay, I mean she did most probably go through much shit just like anyone else, why, if everyone is in a bad mood, and jumps to quick conclusions can she not be a bit like that as well? She is paranoid, and has every right to be. On the other hand it was a bit too much for a kid, she could at least feel a bit worse about things, and be more unsure and shy, not like that fucking Carl. I. Hate. Carl. Sooo much. But I think Becca isn't all like that, at least besides her interest for guns she likes to play guitar and cards and stuff. I just hope, that if she reapears, which seems quite likely, we'll be able to determine whether she'll be nicer, or Lilly V2...

It creeps me out that Becca looks exactly like Clem in a few years...

You don't know what happened to her that made her what she is today . Becca is just a kid thrown in a world of madness and death like Clem and Duck . Not all kids will be optimistic and innocent like Clem in a zombie apocalypse you know . Maybe she was like Clem when she was 8 or 9 but changed when the apocalypse happened .

I am not a fan of her but I will not kill her at all, Telltale there is little you can do to make me want to kill Becca, If I liked Duck and did not kill Ben then unless she goes Lilly which will not happen she will live.

I wouldnt kill her I didn't think she was that bad of a character

I don't kill people ever full stop in TWD and always choose the choice which harms least...
Even if that means forgiving someone who killed my favourite character (At least he is in heaven now working at the inventory doing some waitor duties so he is doing pretty well for a dead guy)or Attempting to save or console people who actively leave me for dead
That is why I don't kill not even Larry when it puts me at risk, I don't abandon Lilly when she clearly is off her head and has no idea what she is doing, I leave Saint John's to the walkers and will ensure no matter how messed up a character may be I will do my best to get everyone out of Season 2 alive and well even if they don't necessarily deserve it
  • edited July 2013
Well that is good for you, I tried to do that but I just could not forgive Lilly, everyone else I could with varying degrees of difficulty.
  • edited July 2013
I think she should be pitied more than hated, she's probably got barely any idea what's going on in the group, people come in to steal their supplies and zombies get mixed up in it. She doesn't know who to trust aside from Shel which is why she's a bit of a bitch to Bonnie, Vince and the others as they might turn out like Roman and Clive.
Keep in mind she's got at least four years on Clementine so she probably isn't as trusting, likely more paranoid.

I'm gonna give her character a chance and see what happens in Season 2.

For all we know Clementine could be like that in season 2, I would pray to god that does not happen but anything is possible is a post Lee Everett world.

Yeah but I would probably forgive Clementine if she was like that, because I know she's been through a lot and still has a sweet side. For all we know, Becca was never nice and sweet and just become more of a cold hearted bitch when the shit hit the fan.

Fear does crazy things to us all. She seems somewhat 'normal' at the start when she's playing the guitar. Maybe it's just when she panics that she turns into a colossal bitch and a half.

We really do not know what Becca went through, she could have seen some bad shit and that is why she is like that, but who knows, only season 2 will hold the answers to are questions, hopefully.

i think some teenagers don't realise how annoying they were when they were her age, plus she changes slightly depending on what you do and what you say to her, i thought she was a good character

I hope she dies in the most horrific way in the Walking Dead universe in season 2, I hope.

Considering it's just her and Shel, there's always the possibility she saw her parents as walkers.

No one needs to die here, not yet anyway, and if Telltale lets you kill these people will you really do it, after what they did to sway you?

I didn't mind Becca. I liked how her relationship with Shel wasn't a total rehash of Lee's and Clementine's.

She wasn't meant to be the same kind of moral center that Clem was, but she is still a kid growing up having to decide what's necessary and what's morally right. Naturally pragmatism is going to come into debate.
  • edited July 2013
If every kid I find in the Walking Dead is like Clementine I would not be happy, but so far all three of them are different and there still is only one Clementine.

I hate Becca's attitude. She's no different than one of those teenagers in RL who think they are all tough until you slap them in the face with a healthy dose of reality. I hate them in RL so I hate them in game too.

Tell Becca to shoot Stephanie, and you can tell she doesn't have the stomach to it herself by the look on her face.

She tries to act all tough with her trips sneaking outside the wall, saying there's no danger. As soon as Shel says it's time to leave, Becca pisses her pants but disguises it as a "I'm tough and pissed off" attitude.

At the end of the day, Becca doesn't realize how much Shel does for her.

I didn't think she was a teenager, I thought she was only 2 or 3 years older than Clem. Probably 11 or 12. Most likely 12.

"Pre-teens" as they call them these days...
  • edited July 2013
    I would say 12.

she may be 13 that is technically when someone is a teenager, but that is irrelevant to my point, you don't magically change once you hit a certain age

Unlike Clem, Becca has already adapted to the apocalypse. It seems as if all the choices I made (not killing the thief, escaping in the RV) will not affect Becca in any good way.

I hate her because she's a psychopath. And stupid. I started not liking her as soon as she jumped at Shel after checking on the watchdogs. I mean, how stupid is that? I even thought to myself, before Shel said it, "If I had a gun I would have killed you!" When corpses start walking around and eating people, you don't just jump out from behind corners at people for a joke.

Then, after the whole break-in, she starts acting really messed up. And she's still stupid. I let the guy go, and one of the first things Becca says to me in the RV is that she's been sneaking out through the loose boards in back. She responds with "There's nothing out there, nobody saw me." Aparently hordes of flesh eating dead people and a group of bandits that have attacked us on at least one occasion with guns, and killed a member of our group are nothing. If those bandits had found those boards because she was sneaking in and out, the entire group could have been killed. And then, as soon as she knows Stephanie stole supplies, she just says "We have to kill her! Here, let me do it!" I would NOT want a little kid like that in MY group. She's violent and stupid.

Well she's a Teen in an ending World which she had known so far. What should you expect? Its already tough to come clear with those Facts for grown People. Imagine Teens.

Ok the jump on Shel really was dumb. But other then that i wouldn't be so harsh on her.

Lets wait and see if she's in S2 and maybe meets Clem. She might become a 'big sis' kind of type for her and change for good. Who knows?
