Wow, some people in this thread are rather harsh to who is essentially a kid.

So... are you guys part of Woodbury or Crawford?

Seems like Crawford to me. Woodbury was somewhat sane until the Governor cracked. Crawford doesn't give some people the time of day - instead it drops them from a bell tower.

There's a poll for someone to make; would they rather drop Ben or Becca from a Bell tower?

yeah that jump scare on Shel was a bit dumb, if Shel had a gun in her hands at the time that could have been a tragedy (hopefully not foreshadowing) and her leaving the compound was just a typical rebellious response to not being allowed to leave, also her suggesting she could kill Stephanie but then declining saying it wasn't her turn was just "I'm tough" bravado, she couldn't have actually done it

I love when Becca pussies out if you ask her to kill Stephanie! Lolol

    she does?

    she does?

    yesh,

she has an epiphany and just puts the gun down with a sad expression.. she's all talk / sounding tough and hard but when it comes down to doing the hard stuff she doesn't want to..

of course she also does what shell does most of the time so how you as shell treat her reflects on how she is..

That's only in Day 259 after the raid though. In Day 236, she's pretty much a normal girl. She jumps out at Shell, yes, but the dialogue pretty heavily hints she hasn't really seen much of the apocalypse, that she's been shielded from most of it.

Until the raid, she hadn't experienced the horrors of the world.

on my playthroughs so far she does the opposite or at least that's my view on her.

On day 236, she says she wants to feed chained up walkers and says Clice would be better off dead and as a zombie watchdog.

saying that about clive is probably just more proof she hasn't actually seen many bad things and doesn't really understand the reality of the situation

I thought the Clive comment was a joke... but yeah, I'd completely blanked out the dialogue on the Walkers.

I... uh... don't know how to feel about that.

Had she seen them at that point? Did she know what they were?

Lol she doesn't really care about people dying though. She practically volunteered to kill Stephanie but didn't have the balls to take it through

she knows that lots of people have died so it's nothing new to her, but she doesn't seem to fully comprehend how bad it really is

I know. If she volunteers, she should at least do it.

Becca: She WHAT? Gimmie the gun, I'll do it.
Shel: Alright, here ya go bitch.
    Becca: Um... naw, it's a'ight. I didn't mean it.

    For shame, Becca.

She does care, or at least feel sadness, if you remember her making the joke about clive, then remember, that if he - depending on your decisions - died, she was sad thinking of him, while playing cards with Shel. She's hardened, but not a rock...

Actually, Clive is the dude with his hair standing straight up. He survives no matter what you choose. Boyd is the one that dies if you let the prisoner go.

You know, I might just have to replay this one quite a few times, and really dissect this one for the people who really hate Becca, which I'm shocked by, and it's not like Shel didn't address the jump scare problem, and yeah, she hasn't seen much of the terrible shit others have, and Stephanie implies this. I actually got pretty attached Becca, Shel, and Stephanie, whom I found to be the most normal thing to a healthy family in this turned upside down world of 400 Days.

I'm actually kind of scared to see what's going to happen to this cast. The first season proved that no one is safe, even and especially the main characters, and I actually like most of the new cast.

I like pretty much all of the new character's, not a good idea but I can not help myself.

Well, the look on Becca's face if you decide to kill thief suggests she does care about people dying, and does not look forward to it. The fact that Becca refuses to kill Stef just shows that she really isn't a psycho as some people think; it's all just bravado to help her cope. I feel bad for her and Shel.:(

I thought she was crazy first time I played but when I found she does not kill Stef and she seems sad when that guy gets killed I kind of felt like a dick for hating her, just like I felt like crap for hating Ben.

She is a girl, do not expect something for lack experience.

I know how you felt with hating Ben, was the same with my first playthrough, only in my later playthroughs I finally started to try and get along with him and understand him. (and not drop him ...)

For all we know Clementine could be like that in season 2, I would pray to god that does not happen but anything is possible is a post Lee Everett world.

And if she did end up hardened like Becca and Carl would people be shouting for her head too?
  • edited July 2013
No, people like her to much for them to simply start hating, I would not, I would start trying to change it.
  • edited July 2013
I actually would like to see how people react to a 14 year old Clementine who had the same kind of tough kill or be killed attitude.
  • edited July 2013
I don't hate her yet, but I am a bit lot scared of her.
  • edited July 2013
I don't hate her, but I also think her moral compass is a little awry. My first thought was maybe she could be a good older sister figure for Clem, a person okay with making hard decisions. However, she was so quick to go along with Killing Stephanie that it gives me doubts, even if she wouldn't actually do it herself.

    Becca.

    Is a bitch

    Agreed. I'm with you 100%

Becca's 'jumpscare' almost made me go postal. However, I don't hate her. Dislike? Yes. Very much. Hope she doesn't go Full Carl in future.
  • edited July 2013
She's awesome, not everyone needs to be the sweet and innocent child.
  • edited July 2013
    She's her own character,

We've had the dumb kid (duck)

    The moral kid - (clem)

So we kind of need a pragmatic kid; in reality in my first playthrough I thought she was acting like that because I killed the guy (which going by what happens I think is the right choice). I do find her a little sociopath though; yes we do hard things but they should remain hard things to do. I still think that the jumping out bit is foreshadowing and someones gonna kill her by mistake.

Oh and I think she's alright, not great but alright

i would of liked to have a say in the moment when becca scares shell..

like we had a chance to tell clem off/praise her in ep4..

But, Eillie grew up in an apocalypse... and she isn't a Becca.
  • edited July 2013
For me though, Becca's probably one of those characters that you will have a hard time caring for, mainly due to her attitude. The reason I loved Clementine in the game so much is that she is lovable. Becca just doesn't have that feel of being lovable. Then again, it's just my opinion. :)

For what little we know about her, I'd think it odd to call her "evil." She doesn't really talk about killing for the sake of it; she opts to kill someone that would leave them for dead without supplies.

Maybe cold and calculating, but not psychotic.
I bet if Becca dies, you'll all be crying your eyes out.

Would need a few more episodes of development for me to get that emotionally invested in any of the 400 Days crew.
