Wait hold on a sec, this is my 1,000 post, I've reached a 1,000 posts! Yeah! Hooray! Haaz!
I'm gonna look for a picture on the Internet to celebrate.
Let's imagine that Kenny didn't say what he said and step up with the decision to take out Larry. you had the option to pick up the salt lick and tell Kenny to hold back Lilly or attempt to resuscitate Larry. if your instinctive go to response would be to grab the salt lick then you didn't do it for Kenny.
In that scenario i would have still chosen to do CPR. The way I saw it what's the worst that could happen? If Larry turned, Kenny could have dropped the salt lick on his head, if Kenny wasn't fast enough Larry would bitten Lilly. He wouldn't get to bite anyone else. We would have killed him after for sure. Lilly would have understood that we would need to kill her, hell she was so badass that she probably would have been willing to do herself like Andrea did on the TV show. With her last moments she would have had nothing to loose like Lee in ep4 and would have taken all the risks, putting herself on the line to get back Kat and Duck and get revenge then we would have given her a mercy killing. Now on the flip side if we did CPR and no one turned and no one was bitten we would have all walked out of there together. At least we would have known either way instead of being kept up at night self guessing are selves and questioning if Larry was really dead like Kenny probably did, growing apart form his wife in the process.
When Lee attempted to save Larry he came off as the good guy, the hero in the eyes of the the group. They respected him for his compassion and valued him for his good heart. Kenny came off as a douche even to his wife to the point where he felt the need to mud sling and point out Lee's errors to make himself look like he wasn't the only one who made bad choices when pointing out Lee screwed up the supply run by shooting the girl without explaining why, leaving the group horrified until Lee explained himself.
P.S. since then the show has gone downhill in my opinion.

Funnily enough Shane was one my favourite characters. A ruthless pragmatist, at times going into complete douchebag mode, but he was interesting, sometimes riveting, and had some killer moments. Bernthal did a great job.
But, it was his time to go. The 'triangle' was played out. It was him or Rick. And Rick wasn't about to go anywhere.
This coming from the guy who in 90% of his posts mentions Lilly being a "bitch". We get it all already. Besides this is my first time mentioning Shane.

i know but he was always unpredictable and awesome and he kept me wanting to see what he was going to do next and it would have been cool to see how he reacted once he met Woodbury. I just watch it for Governor now. They turned the show into a soap opera with zombies.

I-I-I-I *hangs head in shame not knowing what too say*
They let emotion overrule reason. Larry was a vile and dangerous man dead or alive. He dwarfed both Lee and Kenny in size and strength, and it was clear that Lee didn't view him as just some old man he could easily take in a fight. This seems to be made clear in comments at the beginning of episode 2. The fact that Larry had crossed the line with his violent rant against Duck was already something that made Kenny's concern for him after he collapsed in the first episode seem strange, and it was definitely out of character for Kenny. Then he attempts to murder Lee, although it's never taken very serious judging by everyone's comments, including Lee's.
I don't know how anyone would even think about Larry when making the decision. I hesitated for a moment but it was because of the brutal nature of how it had to be done in front of Clementine while restraining his daughter. I didn't care if he was dead or alive. He wasn't worth saving either way. I don't know how Lee and Kenny would have smashed in his head with a salt lick if he had turned and gotten to his feet, and I don't know why anyone would risk that. It's still a traumatic experience and even has Kenny bothered right after it happens. I don't know how you can call Kenny a murderer after doing that even if you disagree with him. I think it's obvious he's doing what he believes is right, and murder implies he did it out for some sinister reason to me.
The stats seem to show that a lot of players put the emotions of an 8 year old Clementine above everything, including common sense, to make pretty much every choice in the game just to avoid upsetting her. That seems as wrong as the other extreme of never considering her emotions when it comes to any choice, but I doubt anyone could do that without intentionally playing as an asshole though. It's obviously not as hard to let her influence you into making questionable choices, and many know this at the time. I know there aren't suppose to be any right or wrong choices, but I disagree considering what happens to the majority of the cast. Most choices seem wrong when everyone ends up dead and Clementine is in the worst situation anyone has faced during the game.
In my original playthrough Larry had knocked out both kenny and Lee with one punch, and with Mark reinforcing the idea of how strong Larry was by saying he was a "piledriver" the risk of Larry becoming a zombie and killing everybody was huge, plus i had the impression that larry would do anything for his daughter, even die for her, so killing larry was the only good decision from my perspective.
For me, I thought, hey he isn't a rotting pile of shit yet, maybe we can save him. However, I do understand the other viewpoints. I didn't care that he was somewhat of a douche, he was still on my side of the wall. I also thought that if he did turn, that two big strong men (well, one big strong man, and a redneck) and a fucking military woman would be enough to restrain an old man, regardless of him being a walking piledriver. Also, yes, I do think Lilly would've manned up if her dad were a walker, even if it was just an adrenaline shock.
Zombies aren't fast. I figured if Larry turned it'd take him a good ten seconds to even get on his feet; plenty of time to hit him with the salt.
They don't WALK fast, sure, but they lunge as fast as humans can. Anyone within 2 ft of Larry when he turns would have VERY little time to react and move out of the way. Also, hurling a saltlick at a stationary head on the ground is one thing. It'd be much more difficult when he's moving around/on top of someone.
I didn't think of that. I honestly expected Larry to open up his eyes and scream some profanities milliseconds before the salt hit. That would've truly been an awkward moment.
They turned the show into a soap opera with zombies.
Lol. It was already a soap opera with zombies, even moreso with Shane and the love triangle and the "who's baby is it?!" crap.
While I'm on the issue of whether the show went downhill or not, the first half of season 3 kicked the hell out of the majority of season 2, in my opinion. Second half... not so much, but that's because it was just the second half of season 2 all over again, stuck in one place and constantly alluding to a coming war that never happened, although season 2 at least ended with a battle against a horde.
Back on topic, I tried to save Larry just because I felt sorry for Lilly.
I know, the best parts of the second half of season 3 was Clear and This Sorrowful Life, other then that it was not good.
Yep, and both were written by Scott Gimple, the new showrunner. He also wrote Andrea's final words, which didn't exist originally, so I think the guy knows what he's doing. Season 4 looks pretty badass. It may just be the magic of a well-edited trailer, but I'm stoked nonetheless and I have faith in Gimple.

I thought her demise blew regardless, but then Gimple didn't have a lot wiggle room. At least he had the decency to give her a voice/ scenes with Michonne, Rick and Daryl. I don't know WTF Mazzara was thinking. I thank Gimple for improving her final moments, so does Laurie Holden.
I hated what they did with her character, they just destroyed what they made her in the comics, and they thought it would be a good idea to just kill her off while we did not give a shit, real smart.
I know, which is why I believe the show is good, but is slightly behind AMC's other two great series, but Season 4 might just make it number two again.
*Facedesk* What if you -WERE- Larry? Or whatever? Would you agree to be killed with a salt lick being dropped on your head? I don't think so. I swear Larry's mouth started moving just a second before Kenny dropped the salt lick on his head, that guy was alive >.<

Believe it or not, if Larry thought he was about to turn, I'm fairly certain he would have dropped that salt lick himself. Especially since all he cares about is Lilly. He stopped breathing. He had no pulse. Larry would have dropped a salt lick on anyone else if he thought for a SECOND that they would turn anywhere near Lilly. He'd never want to turn into one of those things, and be the one to eat his daughter.
Personally, if I were in that situation, I'd agree. I do NOT want to turn into an undead monstrosity and begin killing the people I've survived with for months. Larry never even felt a thing. Ironically, he got one of the more painless deaths in the series. He was unconscious, and that salt lick obliterated his brain pretty much instantly.

In that case, I would tell Kenny to hold the salt lick still above his head but not drop it yet, and I would be performing the CPR on him, if his eyes change, I give Kenny a sign to drop the salt lick, if not, and he then wakes up. I would tell Kenny to wait and or fuck off for trying to kill people using ignorance. I could even atleast cuff his hands with anything during that process. It's not that hard. And if you are telling me he would immediately chop somebody's neck, he's not a pokemon lol. It would be noticeably seen that his walker would be slowly trying to get up or moves his head with his eyes changed. Kenny was very illogical at that point but you know what, I blame TWD....All about survival, no thinking nothing, just survival using the stupid method XD

To be fair, they didn't have time to think. Nobody did. Since David/Travis reanimated in less than a minute, Larry could have been right about to come back. And as I recall, the cop in Episode 1 practically JUMPED at Lee as soon as he reanimated. As for binding him, hindsight is 20/20. Given everything that was going on at that point (Kat and Duck being held at gunpoint by cannibals, having just eaten the legs of one of their longtime friends, being locked in a tiny room to be murdered and cut up for meat, with all of that being BEFORE Larry collapsed) I don't think anyone was thinking straight at that point. Kenny DID raise some valid points, and seemed logical to me, for the situation, but you're right. The situation just all around sucked.

The cop in episode 1 was already reanimated/bitten, as you know Lee woke up 2 times or something and hearing him scream then passed out again, the third time he woke up it was perhaps the third day, it had been a long time since he reanimated considering there was already blood all over the place and he had his gun out. Larry was fresh if you understand what I mean

David/Travis was fresh too, with no bites or anything. So was the prisoner (immortalized as "Fuck me? Fuck you motherfucker" Guy) who turned it a minute at most. And he lunged right at the guard's neck.

That's like saying Shane is a douchebag to Rick, so immediately he has to die.
I get the feeling you didn't think that one through.....
RIP Shane . I will miss you...
