Can we stop with the Becca hate?
She's not my favourite character, but by the gods some of the comments on here saying she is 'evil' are just SO over the top.
If you choose to kill the guy, you can see the terror on her face. If you offer to let her kill stephanie, she can't bring herself to.
She is vulnerable and 'nice' on the inside, she has just built up a tough exterior (which would be natural after spending 236 days in a dying world, and would also be bound to come in handy).
She isn't 'cute' like clem, she isn't quite as innocent as clem. That does NOT make her 'evil'.
I struggle to believe that any non-murderous 14 year old can be intrinsically evil.

Still, I agree that she isn't evil. At least not yet.
Not wanting two people to die is at least nice on *some* level.
Agreed.
Not wanting to SEE two people die after advocating for their deaths is not nice. It's cowardly.
The entire POINT of that is that she doesn't ACTUALLY want them to die; that is part of the front she has put up to try and make the older members of the group respect her.
It's not like she runs away if you kill Roberto, she stands there and is horrified.
There is a line between 'annoying' and 'evil'
Ben and Becca are very different charatcers.
While Becca may not be everyone's favourite character, she has at least displayed more survivalist qualities than Ben did.
I didn't like her specific character per se as we barely know anything about her, however I did like her relationship with shel; I'm looking forward to seeing how this is handled in season 2.
Yeah they are, but both are designed to be disliked (for different reasons).
And does seeing the consequences of her words give her any pause before cheering on another person's death? No. Whether or not she really stands by her words, she doesn't think about the pain that they cause to others. I get the whole trying to earn the respect of the group thing, but it's no excuse. And it was also just her and Shel in the RV. Who's respect was she trying to gain? Shel, the person trying to keep her from turning into a callous asshole?
She's a teenager. She wants to impress people.
Yes, she probably WAS trying to show Shel how she could handle herself; this is a sister/sister relationship here, not a mother/daughter.
When she said if we let him go he might come back...
And when she said Stephanie is no longer her friend and does deserve to die...
Stephanie was a traitor and it is just hoe the world is now and all Becca is, is realistic and that doesn't make you evil...
I wouldn't call it a line so much as a huge, gaping chasm.
Becca is not evil.
She is, however, a snotty annoyance, whose face could curdle milk. Jumping out at Shel was dimwitted, like one of the stupidest things you could pull on another in a ZA. Stupid even for a young adolescent. I got over that and then found out she's sneaking out, even after being warned by Shel. Endangering the group, what a badass.
And basically whatever DomeWing said too.
Anyway, no hate, just a healthy dislike.
Edit: Her comment to Bonnie didn't help things either.
So we're just gonna blame all of her character flaws on her age, then?
And it doesn't matter what their relationship is. When it comes down to it, it's still a lack of understanding and empathy if she can't understand that what she is pretending to be is the exact opposite of what Shel wants for her.
Absoultely not. She is as annoying as piss in a sandwich; that's not just age based, that's natural talent.
And since we're talking about her character in relation to other people, it kind of DOES matter what their relationship is.
She just wants to show Shel that she can handle herself on her own so Shel would stop worrying about her.
I've only seen that from a small handful of posters. Although, I could be missing others.
Haha.
S'ok, Dildor. It happened to me too.
Kids these days.
I'm not quite such a 'badass'.
It was lemon face out of fucking nowhere. The most OMGWTFBBQ! moment in the entire episode.
And the most idiotic.
Poor, poor Shel.
She's as dumb as Duck and Ben but not nice like them while trying to be Bad ass which makes her character a really dangerous one.
I could easily like her or at least understand her if she was one or the other but a dumb not really tough kid trying to act tough is the worst.
And no I certainly don't think she's evil just annoying and no I don't want her to die, the only person I wanted to kill was the stranger and I did... no false threats from me
the point of her story was to show you a different type of what ZA can do to a kid,she whitnessed some messed up situations for sure just like clem, but Becca reacted different. I don't find her evil/annoying..just feel sorry for her tbh
Also, scaring someone in a ZA pretending to be a zombie? Hasn't anyone told her something like... "yeah, next time you may accidentally get shot, so never do that again"
i just think people are giving her a hard time without realising they are judging her because of her age and think she should know better
Maybe, but Clementine has enough smarts to know not to jump out and pretend to be a zombie when everyone is on edge, you can't do that shit anymore.
