Who did you save? And why?
Just wondering who you decided to save at the end of Episode 1? Nick or Pete?
I ran to Nick because he wasn't bitten and still had a few bullets left in his gun, unlike our buddy Pete.

Pete. He didn't leave Clem. Trusted her. Nick was angry jerk.
Just curious, Pete didn't leave Clem where? Yeah Nick seemed kinda dick headed. I really wanted to save Pete but couldn't justify going to someone who had definitely been bit by a walker
I didnt really prefer either one but my reaction was to save nick.
Nick simply because he has a way higher chance to survive. Pete was bit and while they did mention amputation, I doubt they'd have time to get back to the house and chop it in time to save him. Nick was less skilled and harder to get along but I had to go with the safest option.
I saved Pete. Either way Nick runs out to the forest. I went to help Pete because he was there for Clem and rescued her when she was bit (by a dog, but they didn't know that for sure) and it seemed wrong to abandon him. He went out of his way to help you even though you have a mysterious bite I had to return the favor and help him even though he was bitten. My Lee taught Clem to help those in need and I wasn't going to have Clem go against that.
Pete, i guess i would enjoy watching a nice saw-off... I'm a strange person.
pete
Same reasons.
I also thought he'd be the one more inclined to pass on knowledge about the group and on the identity of Carver if he knew he were to turn.
Nick. Pete was already bit. If the case was that he wasn't bit Pete all the way.
I went with Pete too, Nick survives either way. But if you didn't save Nick, he'd probably be pissed at Clem and take back his apology
I chose Nick. Pete was a leader and I want this group to crumble until they are under my control. Clementine will rule this apocalypse with an iron fist.
I saved Pete. I KNOW that the logical choice was to save Nick but ... Pete is the one who took upon himself to bring you at the house, he's the one who trusts you the most and he seems like good-hearted person. I don't regret it.
I hope cutting his foot like we saw in the teaser for Episode 2 will work, crossing ma fingers !
I saved Nick because Pete is obviously screwed. Apparently sawing it off doesn't always work (ex. Lee)
Governor Clementine .... Holy molly I'd like to see such an ending.
I'm leery this series is settling into Robert Kirkman's predictable pattern of storytelling pessimism. Pete is the one guy in the new group who seems even REMOTELY likeable, so of course he gets bitten.
I'm not sure if I want to stick around for the duration of this season. I'm simply not interested in forking over my cash, only to get misery porn in return.
Nick, felt it was a good idea to follow someone I think isn't bit than know is bit. Also I think Nick is fairly symbolic of rebellious youth, hating the father figure because of not being the father, really interested how that character fleshes out, as oppose to Pete who I thought already had an established characteristic. Though when this option came I got up and applauded the screen (paused) because it's such a prefect reason for a 10-11 year old to make such a crucial decision, perfectly written and can't wait to see more of it!
Pete, he seemed to be the only voice of reason in that group, and Nick probably escaped back to the cabin anyways. I forgave Nick, so I felt that I should solidify my friendship with Pete now.
I asked this is another thread regarding the same question. It this a "who-to-save-scenario"?
In my opinion it was a "whom-to-follow-scenario".
When I played it didn't feel like I was choosing who I was saving (unlike the Dougley-decision in episode one of the first season). To me it felt like choosing whom to go with.
And I chose Nick. Simply because of the bite. Otherwise of course I would have gone with Pete. Who seems to be more likable and more able to protect than Nick.
I saved Paul cause I panicked and thought he shot his leg and was not bit but it seems like they both lived so I stand by my choice. I like Paul, I hope he doesn't die from the amputation
Pete because no matter what Nick will survive and Pete will die. If you go with Pete, Nick gets away and everyone thinks you tried to save Pete but he got bit so oh well. If you go with Nick, Pete dies right there and everyone will probably partly blame you, especially Nick.
Lee took WAAAY to long to do it though. He got bit, and spent a couple hours at most getting to sewers and making his way back to Vernon's hideout. Not to mention he passes out for who knows how long. It has to be within minutes to have any chance of working and even then its not 100%.
Won't spoil but in the comic an amputation happened seconds after the bite and this person still died.
Pete's best chance is to run to him, chop the foot right away and hope he survives long to enough to get back home without to much blood loss.
But you don't know this at the time. For me I figured whoever you choose, the other dies right there like in EP1 of season 1. Was disappointed that (as of now atleast) there is a clear better choice rather the having it based on your opinion.
I was going to say the same thing. It sort of feels like cheating if you choose after you've seen both (short-term-)outcomes.
(I'm going to play several playthroughs of course and try different things, but my "true playthrough" stands with the decisions I made before I knew the outcome)
Pete
I regret this as balls since I didn't realize he had been bit.
When I replay (probably after I stop crying like a bitch about Omid's death) I'll save Nick since that's what I wanted to do.
I'm kinda shocked that Nick blamed Clem for what happened to Pete in the trailer for episode 2. Was she supposed to be saving one of them or just following them to safety?
To be honest, I didn't even realize that Pete was bitten for sure. I had a suspicion but it didn't really 'click' as a for sure thing for me. Regardless, I chose Nick - because he had bullets and I figured he was thusly the safer option for Clem. Felt horrible about it afterwards, especially when Nick looked so upset. Whoops...
It does all happen pretty fast, but it shows a walker grabbing and biting his foot really fast with a quick view of a bloody foot. Once I saw that and knew Nick had a better fighting chance I didn't hesitate to going with him.
It's Pete, not Paul
I meant to save Nick ... but got confused about which side was which and ended up saving Pete. But that works for me, since it would have been pretty confusing so Clem just sort of panicked and went for it. And I had a better relationship with Pete too.
Oh, mobile version stupid autocorrected it
You're correct. Choosing Nick will cause Pete to be eaten by walkers (now known as lurkers apparently) and Nick scolds Clementine with the classic phrase, "You could have saved him".
He is pissed. I played to see what would happen if you went with Nick, and he gives you shit and says that you could have saved Pete (despite Nick being the one who refused to listen to Pete in the first place).
Do you mean Allan, Morgan, someone after Volume 8? If Allan, that was because of blood loss. If Morgan, that was actually a while later and Michonne cut his arm off with a blade covered in zombie blood. If the latter, Shh!
I didn't think at that moment. I just acted and went Pete at the last second. I'm hoping that Nick will make it out okay and that Pete's amputation is successful and turns out like Hershel in the TV series. And by that, I mean having to get use to having one leg.
You all know who I chose.
(please, let someone get this!)
I didn't even know if Pete's wound was a bit or not, but my morals are always help the weakest (That's why I always liked Ben), so I went with Nick.
I metagamed both choices, but my "canon" went with Nick, as I figured Pete was already bit and done for. Telltale did a good job of giving you such a limited amount of time of whether you want to be a hypocrite or not. :P
Pete isn't the only likable character though. This group is to new to be as likable as the motor inn crew but I can see myself really liking most of them.
Carlos is hiding something it seems and Luke seems to caring and concerned to be true, he isn't as nice as he comes off as I bet.. So far I think Pete, Alvin, and Rebecca are the ones you should side with. Nick will be somewhere in the middle. Carlos and Sarah probably will survive to EP5.
Nick. If it hadn't been for the walker bite, I would have said Pete, but... I mean... He was all gone from the moment he got bitten.
I have two saved games with both endings, and imo, I think saving Nick was better. We saw in the trailer that it's possibly Pete will saw off his leg, although it is gonna be a lotta time til they get to the cabin. So, his survival chances are small. Nick's survival is guaranted though.
