I hope I don't spoil you anything, Yertos, but Dale gets bit at one point and they cut his leg and he survives (contrary to Allen, he died because he lost a lot of blood).
Also Pete said they cut his cousin's arm and it worked.
I really don't know, but I like to think that this is kinda like Shawn/Duck.
i ran to save nick because i thought a saw what looked like a zombie bite on petes leg so if i tryed to save him nick would die and then later pete would die unless you chopped off the bite in time
I saved Nick because of what Pete told me before we arrived at the river.
He talked about how he needed to be hard on Nick in order to be a father figure to him in a harsh and unforgiving world. He wanted to be nice, but couldn't; that would have weakened Nick. He said that he needed to take on a role for Nick's sake, even if it caused Nick to hate him.
In other words, he understood and lived by the fact that you sometimes need to make sacrifices for the sake of the ones you love.
He put his time and energy into raising Nick to be strong, to survive in times of adversity. To abandon Nick in favour of Pete would undermine everything Pete worked for... To me, it would be almost like choosing Lee over Clementine if both of them were threatened and you could only save one.
If what those who save Pete is saying is true, Nick lives anyway... But I didn't know that. I approached the situation with the above reasoning in mind, assuming that the one who I didn't choose would die...
Pete is wise, brave, reasonable and also nice to Clementine. Nick has a heart of gold, but he is clumy and a coward. He also got his mom killed because of his cowardness, and Pete therefore treated him pretty badly, which I can understand.
I would have saved Pete, but he was bitten on his ankle so he was a goner anyway. I did the only reasonable thing and saved Nick.
Anyway, the group was walking around numerous recently deceased corpses like they were at the state fair. They are scared shitless by walkers and therefore extremely cautious, scared shitless by an injured little girl who was not even sick, but walking around a bunch of corpses that could awake as walkers at any given moment was absolutely no problem.....
It would have been reasonable to smash the corpses heads in before they searched them. But they didn't and, of course, they corpses suddenly all awake as walkers at the exact same moment then attack and bite pete. Yeah, bad writers are gonna write bad. No mystery there. lol
Guys, I'm sure Nick doesn't mean the "you could have saved him", I mean we know Clem would have saved Pete (not really since he was bitten) because we can go through both scenarios, but Nick says it out of pure frustration and the feeling of uselesness.
That's how good the writing is, it understands the situation the character is in, not the one the player's in.
He is pissed. I played to see what would happen if you went with Nick, and he gives you shit and says that you could have saved Pete (despite Nick being the one who refused to listen to Pete in the first place).
I save Nick, on my first save file, when my clementine its a little to girly but still tougth for the heat of the moment.... but in my second file when my clementine is a manipulator, sinic kind of a little sweatness with the people who deserved saved Pete...
In general terms, Pete, seems like the Best choice for 3 simple reason's:
1) If you save it, Nick scaped so he's not dead yet. (If is in the other way poor Pete were Walkers meat)
2) Pete surely its bit? I mean, he could just have a scratch just like clementine had a dog bite. He deserved the benefit of the doubt for trusting you when no one else those... (If he its bit, well the saw make a perfectly point on it, and he was the one saying that chop the arm/leg off was know of being functional for some cousin or something like that...
3) The most likely reason is that, no matter what... Clementine being tougth or soft... its still a little girl... She's never going to lead a group or survive just on her own yet, she need some people to still survive... so Pete, like Luke & Alvin, are the better ones of this current group, that had something to apport, that s#¡ty woman rebbeca and the f#ck¡ng "doctor" Carlos and her creepy daugther... are the people that make precautions being a totally unaceptable way of making choice... we saw it on season 1 Lilly had to go for 1 reason... she was not capable of being with a group... or just what we have see of them yet... and Nick well, he is on the Good Guys Team too but he is a Jerk pleny of times... (just like Kenny)
That are the 3 simple reasons why, I think the better choice its Pete
^ This. It doesn't look good for Pete, and although it is the far most likely option, we don't know for sure that it was definitely a walker bite. (although the trailer does lead us to believe it is.) At the end of the day, Pete saved me and when the (dog) bite was revealed, he believed me despite seeing me underneath a zombie that could have easily bitten me for all he knew. So for those reasons, I felt I had to repay him and take the chance on him. He's also a lot nicer to us than Nick is so that helps.
I saved Pete. Either way Nick runs out to the forest. I went to help Pete because he was there for Clem and rescued her when she was bit (by a… more dog, but they didn't know that for sure) and it seemed wrong to abandon him. He went out of his way to help you even though you have a mysterious bite I had to return the favor and help him even though he was bitten. My Lee taught Clem to help those in need and I wasn't going to have Clem go against that.
I ran to Nick. When I saw the bite it was a knee-jerk reaction.
Pete obviously came across as the more level-headed and trustworthy of the two, but Nick at least tried to have a redemptive moment before the end, so there's room for growth.
I chose Nick, I saw the walker bite on Pete's leg and knew not much could be done unless you remove the leg immediately and it could take time to get back to the house from where you where which would cause the infection so spread more, When Nick tells the story about his Mum they said that they took care of someone in who was bitten who then became a walker and killed her so i didn't want to take any chances of a another Nick's Mum scenario.
I saved Pete. I KNOW that the logical choice was to save Nick but ... Pete is the one who took upon himself to bring you at the house, he's th… moree one who trusts you the most and he seems like good-hearted person. I don't regret it.
I hope cutting his foot like we saw in the teaser for Episode 2 will work, crossing ma fingers !
He is pissed. I played to see what would happen if you went with Nick, and he gives you shit and says that you could have saved Pete (despite Nick being the one who refused to listen to Pete in the first place).
Pete. For all we know he actually sprained his foot or something, not a walker bite. Pete gave Clem the benefit of the doubt with the dog bite, I will do the same.
My first choice on my main playthrough (which I NEVER rewind) was to save Pete. I just tried saving Nick on another one and saw what happened and it confirmed that I was happy to choose Pete.
But you don't know this at the time
I was going to say the same thing. It sort of feels like cheating if you choose after you've seen … moreboth (short-term-)outcomes.
(I'm going to play several playthroughs of course and try different things, but my "true playthrough" stands with the decisions I made before I knew the outcome)
It's curious since when you save Nick you see Pete getting overwhelmed and killed by zombies but if you go with Pete, as you know, Nick goes into the woods taking down some zombies, also, Nick was closer to the house than Pete.
In the trailer for episode 2, Pete doesn't look half as sad as Nick, right? I'm certain Nick survives in both scenarios and the difference between choices is how long Pete lives, that would be an interesting change.
But probably if Pete dies straight away Nick mans the fuck up already.

He for sure didn't sprain anything. If you look closely you see his jeans are ripped and he's bleeding around the ankle area. He might of cut himself on a rock or something but my guess is that he was bit. And I'm thankful he gave my Clem the benefit of the doubt with the dog bite but my Clem wasn't about to. Walker Attack + Bleeding = Yo Ass Was Bitten! lol
Pete. For all we know he actually sprained his foot or something, not a walker bite. Pete gave Clem the benefit of the doubt with the dog bite, I will do the same.
Pete because it looked like he needed the most help. We see in the "trailer" to the next episode he will try to cut it off. However as we have known TellTale to do, and will do, is kill him off fast so the people who choose Nick don't feel like their missing out.
Rebecca is pregnant, my mother was a huge asshole to everyone in her late months of pregnancy when she had my little brother haha.
I feel like Rebecca is gonna be nicer to Clem after either the baby is born or Alvin dies. Carlos is a total asshole, yes, Sarah creeps the living shit out of me and Nick is scared shitless, just like Luke when he saw the bite on Clem's arm, but I feel everyone's good people on the group.
I predict that Sarah and Rebecca will constantly put the group in danger.
I save Nick, on my first save file, when my clementine its a little to girly but still tougth for the heat of the moment.... but in my second … morefile when my clementine is a manipulator, sinic kind of a little sweatness with the people who deserved saved Pete...

I'm kinda shocked that Nick blamed Clem for what happened to Pete in the trailer for episode 2. Was she supposed to be saving one of them or just following them to safety?
I liked Pete, but he made horrible decisions leading up to the attack. He split up his party in an area infested with walkers and possibly with antagonistic humans. Then he moves further away from the exit by himself.
Not only was he 1) clearly bit; and 2) further away from the exit than Nick; but he was 3) beckoning Clem to come to him as if he weren't far from the exit and surrounded by walkers! Seriously, what does he expect an unarmed eleven year-old to do?!
And Nick doesn't seem so bad. He really manned up when he apologized to Clem. That was appreciated.
The guy who didn't get bit. I liked the character who did get bit more then the other guy but, the guy who was bit was already dead in my eyes.
Great example of how little the character are set at that point. There are so many people (me included) who have trouble remembering the correct names to the correct faces.

Like I said I noticed that on myself as well. This episode made it harder to remember their names on one playthrough than the first episode of the first season did.

As I said above, this has to be a Shawn/Duck situation.

"Lurker" comes from the comic.

I saved Snow White/Faith

Let's both of us cross fingers. Pete did mentioned that it worked for someone...
I saved Pete. Also accepted Nick's apologize, but well. Nick has ammo, and Pete needed for help and then both of them (propably) are alive. For now.
Same here...Pete was the first to trust Clem and Nick was a totally dick. Sadly i guess Pete won't last much, cause he was bitten.
Aw crap, so i guess im gonna stick with Pete then XD
Pete. I liked him more lol
Yeah I agree. He is more friendly than Nick

Nick. I took Lee's advice: never get trapped again. Im not leaving Clem with a potential zombie...
He for sure didn't sprain anything. If you look closely you see his jeans are ripped and he's bleeding around the ankle area. Yeah, what do you expect an unarmed eleven year-old girl to do? I'm not sure if Nick forgot what character he was speaking to or the writers did.
The guy who didn't get bit. I liked the character who did get bit more then the other guy but, the guy who was bit was already dead in my eyes.
Nick.

RIP Pete.
Great example of how little the character are set at that point. There are so many people (me included) who have trouble remembering the correct names to the correct faces.
I'm terrible at remembering names so soon. By next episode i should know them all. Just one episode seems too little to know the names.
Pete because i like him more
Like I said I noticed that on myself as well. This episode made it harder to remember their names on one playthrough than the first episode of the first season did.
