16 months later: What happened to...

...Christa's child?

What happened? I noticed that in the campfire scene Christa's tummy is normal size now compared at the start in the bathroom scene. Miscarriage?

Most likely. or she put it down little omid jr with a pill after omid died

  • It is never revealed what happened to the baby. Of course we're to assume she lost it, since it was only her and Clem at the campsite.

We can probably rule out the child being stillborn, as in that world I think that means a zombie baby. It would have ate it's way out or Christa. The baby was probably born alive but due to the harsh conditions, lack of modern medical care, and Christa being both alone and malnourished...it died of disease and/or complications from being malnourished. Infant mortality rates used to be very high before the modern era. Christa and Clem's world has reverted to that.

  • It's a major plot hole right now but I can guarantee you it'll be addressed at some point. No way they'll just let it go.

  • How the hell is is a plot hole? Christa's child would've been born in the 1st few months after Omid's death, meaning it wouldn't have lived for long after that even if it was a healthy birth. Christa was obviously distraught in a Kenny like state and didn't want to talk about it. (similar to Kenny, she just focused on going to Wellington, like Kenny focused on getting a boat)

Just use your imagination and stop complaining the game doesn't spell it out for you.

  • Edited spoiler out of thread title. Be careful please!

  • If my calculations are correct, there is a 99.994% chance it's dead.

  • David..that's twice I've seen you say that.

Just because something is not spoon-fed to you....and that we 'do not see it happen'...does not make a plot hole...

I guess the fact no takes a crap in the game is a major plot hole too huh? We do not NEED to KNOW what happened...or why. We can just safely assume that something bad happened.
