how to handle the 400 days crew in season 2?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

So I came to think about the people from 400 days. They are bound to show up at some point.

How can these characters be brought to Clementine, without making the knowledge about these characters uneven between In-Game-Clementine and the Out-of-Game-Player.

Clementine hasn't met any of those people, as far as we know. The player knows these characters already (a bit a least). So a simple "who do you trust?" couldn't really be pulled of, since the player has reasons from outside of Clem's perception to trust or distrust a certain character.

Any thoughts or ideas?

  • Since TTG hinted at a bigger involvement of 400 days for the next episode, I'm gonna bump this question.

  • I think that Eddie returns

  • I hope that the 400 characters will join Clem's group, or Clem leaves her current group and joins the 400 days cast. I agree with you that things would be slightly non linked since the player know these guys and Clem doesn't however this is Tell Tale, they are really good at the talking elements. They will fit it in somehow.

However I don't think Clem should trust all the guys in that group. We have Vince, Wyatt, Russel, Bonnie and Shel with Becca. I would feel Clem would be safe with Vince, he would be a good to chose at protecting her. Russel might not trust her, but might warm up to her over time. I think Bonnie and Shel would get along with Clem. As for Wyatt and maybe Eddie - yeah if he/ they shows up i'm keeping Clem from him.

Maybe it's a twist and the group that went with Tavia got screwed over and the ones that stayed at the camp turned out alright.

Then we'd have to argue which was one was the true "perfect" ending, huh?

    Knowing TTG...

  • I have my fingers crossed for at least one of them to be a member of Carver's group.

Maybe depending on your choices in episode 2 you can go to or not go to Tavia's settlement but depending on your choices some of the cabin group might choose not to go and it would divide them hence the name A House Divided, It could be like in 400 days when your actions lead to characters deciding where to go.

  • We'll probably gravitate towards trusting the 400 Days crew more than other random strangers, but their current motivations could always surprise us.

That is grisly and dark, and creepy. We assume the people that went with Tavia are the safe ones, and Bonnie always goes with her regardless, so maybe it's the ones that remain that are safe. Then again, is there ever a perfect ending? Haha.

  • I don't want Becca anywhere near Clementine, you all think Sarah's creepy, it's Becca you should be worrying that kid has eyes like a shark, I'm telling you she's gorked.

I was surprised that Roman got killed, I thought he would have been an important character.

  • Me too he seemed solid I was hoping he's show up, just not with his brains spread across the sand.

  • Its been two years I doubt there the same person they were. I hope that they are different based on 400 days though.Meeting them at different points would be amazing with slightly different personalities

  • The funniest result I can imagine would be meeting a friendly Nate.

People who haven't played 400 Days: "This guy seems alright."

People who have played 400 Days: "Abort! Abort!"

And that would be a good example of the problem I see with the integration of the 400 days characters to the story.

Clementine wouldn't know Nate and find him somewhat trustworthy. The player (that had played 400 days) would try to get her as far away from him as possible. But that would be because of information the player has, that is outside of Clems perception and therefore would feel like "cheating" if you will. Sort of like reading a walkthrough before your first playthrough of a game.

You wouldn't play as Clem, you would be playing as a guardian angel that controls Clem, or somewhat like that.

  • YES PLEASE!! I've been saying that too, maybe part of the group that "person Clem thought it was dead" belongs.

  • I guess who stayed at the camp... Eveb if they stayed because they didn't trusted others, almost a year an a half passed they coyld have changed their minds...

  • I mean yes Nate is obviously f*cked up, but if you see things from his prespective, Eddie and Wyatt shot one of his friends and the old couple kind of shot him too. He's what people usually call a sociopath he has a anti-social behaviour and his prompt to killing, but only if he feels he has the need to (even if he enjoys it) and he will allways protects the ones that stay with him. I kind off related to Nate at some points.

  • Same here, my personality is actually a lot like Nates, minus the "Let's kill these old folk" thing. I would've just took their stuff. They fired without provocation, but if you saw Nate drive up with his gorked eyes you reckon you wouldn't? lol
I'd only kill if there was a direct threat.
If the old guy tried to pull a holdout on me, then I'd have shot him without a second thought.
