It will be ruined, it's all over. This is it. Goodbye everyone.
Well if some of the writers from S1 are still around that'll be fine.
Yea I as well as other fans will be sad and pissed. I paid 14.99 for the pass Lol
Apparently those 2 guys already wrapped some things up for season 2 before leaving.
No. The only pre-established character of this season is Clementine and the writers have to be spot-on when they try and make her reflect over Season 1 happenings with Lee and the gang, but otherwise it's all-new stuff which means the direction is, and should be different from that of S1.
I think with Telltale higher-ups being concerned with the story-department so much they will also have a good clue on how to make sure that new writers tackle things properly.
And to people saying the writing is somehow worse already in S2, think about some of the bad stuff in S1 as well. In S1E1 you're in a car with a cop who runs over a walker-guy who he should've seen from several hundred feet away, your favorite female is contrivedly shot by your least favorite which seemed like pure shock-value just as with Omid in S2 or the 180-personality dog.
Just a few examples, but in other words, I think S2 is in safe hands... that is, if Episode 2 establishes a clear plot that isn't just pure survival.
You could have just posted in that thread.
Also, the title of this thread, reminds me of -
Isnt there another thread were this is discussed? We dont need another thread for the same thing.
Indeed S1 wasn't perfectly realistic either. Especially towards the end with Ninja-Molly climbing buildings and Lee turning into an action hero, even after you cut off his arm. Not to mention the zombie apocalypse itself... But what made it so special and better than other games (and also better than S2E1 imo) was the emotional thingy and the more credible characters.
Now it seems like they want to bring the game closer to the comics with S2. I don't like that, because the comics are pretty trashy. I dislike the thought that they want to throw Clem into a more accurate version of Kirkman's world. This just HAS to end pretty bad for her. Let's see how much more crazy yokels will suddenly jump out of the woods and try to rape/kill/eat her. Remember what happened to Carl in the comics. And now she doesn't have Lee anymore to protect her... oh well.
@ OP:
This is actually one of my main worries about S2. I'd love to see Sean Vanaman being the lead writer again. You can tell that the writer of "All That Remains" is the same guy who's written "400 Days". Personally I didn't like the DLC.
Keep that hair short.
This was indeed discussed in another thread. But, the two lead writers left prior to season 2, and All That Remains has been nothing but praised, so it's safe to say that our beloved franchise remains in good hands.
I think they were around at the planning stage, so they had some input in it. The story probably hasn't gone wildly off-tangent to how they first imagined it.
Is that so? Last time I checked there were some negative reviews out there.
Just saying...
I sort of liked "All That Remains" but I did have some problems with it cough Bromid cough. So I wouldn't say it's nothing but praised.
This. Sean Vanaman helped Nick Breckon with the basic storyline for Season 2 before he and a friend from TTG started their own company. That means the story overall is bound to be good but the content is still up in the air. We simply have to put faith in Nick and team that they can deliver.
It's not like it hasn't happened on Telltale before and it went perfectly fine. Calm down.
We'll see.
Why did people dislike this?!! These were Lee's words to Clementine and people are now showing how little it mattered to them!
No season 3?????!!!!!! :O
When season one was new those guys had never written a Walking Dead game before and it turned out to be awesome. There has been no plan to end season two early as far as I know, and the remaining writers have a season of experience under their belt. I'm not gonna worry just yet.
The only thing that we really need to worry about is content/dialog. The stage is already set. Besides, Telltale isn't going to run short on good story makers and ideas.
i paid $25
why is it more expensive on PC
The new lead writer (Nick Breckan) had nothing to do with the first season. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.
You're comparing DLC of fiveshort stories with either Season?
Well this is Jill at her best. Creating a bunch of threads about the same thing....
Some indeed, But the majority have liked it. It's gotten quite a few 9/10s
Here's the actual thread to continue this discussion.
