What is the last game you played?

Just curious what everyone's playing at the moment...
I finished Professor Layton last weekend. Cute game. I got kind of annoyed with the puzzles at points, but it was okay after taking a break and then coming back to it again.
How about you?

In a circle around your character, the bright world twists into a delightfully dark version of itself. This can get quite addictive, and watching the walls darken becomes quite fun.
It's a lot like Katamari Damacy in that you have to affect smaller things in order to be able to affect bigger things, and your sphere of influence increases as you do. When you become influential enough to turn large things like trees and people into their dark forms, it becomes sickeningly delightful.
The game has an AMAZING amount of charm, but in a dark and twisted way. Sometimes I cringed at HOW dark something became. You execute the men in the gallows, you turn children in the schoolyard into walking matches that set their teacher aflame, and blood runs like crazy.
The game is really really short, in that I'm sure I wouldn't have paid for it on its own. Only about half an hour of gameplay. But having a weekly little something to look forward to makes the Gametap subscription all the more enticing.
Also, the game is far too easy if you're not one for speed runs and collecting the couple of secrets in each of the tiny levels. The cleaners that undo your work are so much slower than you that they don't pose much of a threat, especially after the first couple of levels on the "Dark-O-Meter".
But I definitely enjoyed myself.
I've also taken to playing Peggle and Endless Ocean, because I've been rather stressed lately. I find both to be amazingly relaxing. If anyone here who owns a Wii hasn't played Endless Ocean, then I higly suggest they do. A lot of people say there isn't much for the hardcore gamer in terms of actual score and story, which I find to be very deceiving. There is an encyclopedia that has to be updated during three separate dives for each fish and there is actually a story to it. The story isn't anything GREAT, but I thought it worked, especially for a game I was spending 30 bucks on. I've actually enjoyed it a lot more than some games I bought at the full retail price. Of course, I'm a weirdo. If I had my way, the Wii would have a lot more titles like Endless Ocean and Zack and Wiki
I think it's actually very well-designed. And yeah. You fully control the diver. There's a rather useless dolphin training game that could have been fleshed out, but overall there's a lot of meat to the game. There are a few hidden secrets that aren't given to you in the story. There are hidden bits of treasure, and a ghost ship that sails around the ocean. By doing jobs on the side, mostly taking pictures of certain fish and being a diving guide, you unlock different customization options for your diver. Plus, there's the whole thing with some fish only appearing during the night or day, etc.
It's at least worth a rental, in my opinion. And it's one of my favorite Wii games, which is kind of sad, but whatever.
I actually just finished that game as well this past Sunday. Before that I played Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory.
As for now I am currently playing The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It's a decent enough game, but I honestly can't say that I enjoy it as much as the other overhead perspective Zelda games. I think I would enjoy it more if the d-pad was used to move the character. I have no problems using the stylus for everything else (slashing the sword, throwing the boomerang, etc.), but using it to control the character's movement is somewhat annoying to me and really takes away from an otherwise enjoyable game.
@Rather Dashing: Your description of Endless Diver reminds me a little of Everblue.
those being COD4 on hardened (cannot be bothered with veteran), GRAW 2, RSV2, GTA4, and a little grid.
Before that I replayed "Barrow Hill".
Hmmm, I need a new game.
yes you can, but you just point where you want to go, and hold in the b button to swim there.
as for me, i last played rockband (wii). good game, but could use online play to make it better:D
A blatant Katamari knock-off, but the only good clone available on the PC. I loved it, but it was too short and on only the second day of playing had earned all of the achievements. Still, worth the $9 I paid for it on Steam. I just hope there are level packs in the future.
With respect to the Grimm game, it reminds me more of de Blob than Katamari Damaci. Anyone else played that game (well, the original freeware version of it)?
Ok, to be fair I actually played Rock band most recently... but everyone plays that...
LostWinds was surprizingly good for such a small game.
Zack and Wiki was overly Japanese but it's twist on typical point 'n' click adventure games was a nice change. Puzzles weren't too difficult or too easy and the later levels had incredibly well thought out design.
I recommend both.
I'm not paying half that much when I keep seeing reminders that it's only $10 in the US on the WiiFanboy blog. Plus, with it being pre-owned, the money'd only be lining the game shop's pockets rather than funding a sequel or whatever /:
I think I might prefer Physchonauts. =/
I have to agree with Endless Ocean, too. There are, of course, times when it's too relaxing, and I want to wade through hordes of enemies in Dynasty Warriors, but most of the time I end up playing for hours.
I don't think that's just you. I started playing it and got so frustrated at one point I had to put it down. That's never happened to me with any other game before! Then again, we might just both suck at it...
You playing the Story-ish Mode?Well, I have to say, his cameo, is EXTREMELY RANDOM.He just literally pops out of nowhere.
Oh, I'm glad to hear it isn't just me. I don't usually play that type of game, so that's probably something to do with it too.
I've got two more characters to defeat in the Great Maze, and I'm at about 82% or something, so I think I'm just one step away from getting that blue hedgehog! I'm currently using Snake most of the time, as I just like launching missiles at the bosses and blowing them away.
Phsycohnauts looks Fun and Awesome, but so does The World Ends With You... D=
*Edit: ...if I lived in the US or Canada, that is...
(Yes.)
It's a cool game though, always liked it. Wacky and fun
Puzzle Quest is an interesting beast. I normally despise "Match 3" games. And this particular game's AI clearly cheats like no other. But I cannot stop playing it. Every time I think I'm finally getting bored with it, I get some fancy new spell or piece of equipment that totally changes the game's strategy around.
Good thing the multiplayer is such a hassle to get going, or else I'd never get any sleep.
I think the way they did the characters in that game was a nice solution... less demanding for the console and looks better as well.
Anyway, last game I played - more Zak FM Towns.
Before that it was Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Saurian.
For Wii, a little bit of We Love Golf and GH Aerosmith.
PC side, Team Fortress 2 and City of Heroes/Villains.
