So...why were Pete and Luke in the woods when they found Clemintine?

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

So, I was replaying the episode when I wondered why Pete and Luke were in the area to save Clemintine from the walkers. When they save you, they ask what CLEMINTINE was doing there, but there is convientently no option to ask what they were doing there.

Hunting for food? (NO):

  1. You hear Pete say they catch enough fish from their traps to feed more people than they have.

  2. Walkers have probably scared off any prey or eaten enough of them.

  3. Who goes hunting animals with a machete (Luke) and NOT also a ranged weapon?

What do you think? I'm honestly baffled.

  • Well Pete later says they are low on ammo, so I guess they went to secure the perimeter of the cabin using (machete+crossbow)

They were most likely scouting around. You hear in the kitchen conversation that they are seeing more lurkers than usual, so they were probably doing some scouting to see how many more lurkers are in the area still. They hear Clementine struggling nearby and go to help her out.

Well, that's true, but why did they take the gun (which still had some ammo) to check out the fish traps later?

I kinda think that they were a little out of their league considering the sheer amount of walkers. Then again you may be right considering they haven't displayed a supernatural affinity for common sense.

  • He ran out of crossbow bolts, so my guess he used the rifle as a last resort (because as we saw, he only had a few shots in it).

  • To find Clementine, duh.

  • plot convenience? Usually the answer is plot convenience, other wise every main character of every show would die within 30 minutes.

  • For the lulz, but seriously yeah its annoying. Also I'm going to be disappointed if there isn't at least 10 dislikes on this comment by tomorrow night.

  • Same guy. This post had a dislike even before I saw it posted the first time.

  • They weren't that far away from the cabin, and I think you can hear them saying somewhere in the game that the walkers are getting closer to the cabin by day. They coulda've been doing some recon and securing the surrouding perimeter of the cabin.

  • Pooping.
