Really? I was focusing on Georgie and what a scumbag he was being to her. Granted, Im a girl but I didnt feel the scene was there just to give players boobs to ogle. Georgie yelling all those hurtful things at her should have taken all the sexiness out of the scene.
Going off of what Ai said, I'll make this opinion:
The nudity, in my opinion, was fine. It was situational, and it made sense. However, it … moreseemed like part of the scene was really devoted to showing off her jiblets. Like, it seemed that she was the main focus of the scene ("she" meaning "boobs").
For that reason, yeah, it's disappointing. Compare this scene to the one in the trailer. In the original ep. 2 trailer, we have a topless prostitute in the background as Bigby talks to Georgie. It's outside a strip club, and it's barely made a big deal. In the actual scene of ep. 2, we have a very drawn-out look at her jiggling jigglies swaying around.
It seems like, indeed, Telltale put a lot of effort into making her boobage the highlight of the scene.
Guys, Why all this heated comments? This thread is just an opinion. and only two paragraphs.
* I'm not offended or scared of nudity. I me… morean, I've heard rumor that IOS policy was against adult games it took months to correct the problem, so if I'm wrong, you can just correct me without insulting me. gosh, what's up with you guys?
* I said I'd prefer to see actual romantic scene, not because I was scared of nipples, but i want to see XX scenes of main characters if I have to risk the danger of my sibling popping up behind my back suddenly. I'm old enough and live with my bro, if I have to hide my screen while playing, I want to see other things than pole dancing.
* I don't know why my post made you guys sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo angry? That's the part i don't understand. Are you guys scared if telltales won't show tits anymore because of my opinion?
* Oh, and, I agree with some posts saying this was needed to describe the merma… [view original content]
Breasts are truly more outrageous and uncivilized than severed heads, it seems
Anyways... We even get to see Bigby naked in the comics, sooo... It's really nothing new.
As a female gamer, I wasn't offended by the maybe 15-20 seconds of breasts, considering the setting that it took place in. As an art major I h… moread to draw nude models for 9 hours a week for a class over a semester so the naked form can be a beautiful thing.
Do I think it was unnecessary? Yes. But that's my opinion, doesn't mean I'm right or wrong nor anyone else.
Kind of disappointed in TellTale, was not expecting them to do that.
Nerissa's nude scene didn't bother me much. Sure it was very pointless but it didn't take away from the story it just showed how much of a dick Georgie is.
Seemed fitting to me to show nudity in a strip club the way they did, especially in the context of how exploitative those kinds of places are (both in-game and in RL).
2) You are consered that your sibling see boobs, but not chopped heads and huge pools of blood?
4) Wrong - GTA have nudity. Or have you forgot Hot Coffee mod - that came along with a game. Or dick on the lost of the damn. Or GTA 5 strip club?
I think you (me and anyone else included) are not in position to dictate how telltale games runs their business. You realize that they wanna make money, and YOU are telling them what include in their game? What telltale games are doing is interactive ART. And if someone tells to artist how to do their job is like telling to Picasso what he should paint.

My thoughts exactly. If people think this is unnecessary, then don't read the comics if nudity disturbs you. Fables is not some happily ever after story all the time.
Why do you think it was unnecessary? Im honestly asking. Given the things he was saying to her and the kind of club it was, catering to all ki… morends of sexual proclivities, I cant imagine her being up there pole dancing without showing some skin. He was berating her for not being sexy enough. A bra would look quaint. I honestly dont think Telltale was doing this to be provocative and handled the scene as gracefully as possible. The comics are very free with mature themes and sexuality so this did not feel out of place to me.
The questions we need to ask here are: was it artistically justified, was it necessary to the story, and did it develop the characters?
In the case of the first, showing partial nudity in a strip joint is clearly artistically justifiable. Was it necessary to the story? Well yes, because Georgie was getting mad at how unerotic her dancing was, and that wouldn't really make a lot of sense if she was fully clothed.
Did it develop the characters? Again, yes it did. It showed Georgie as the exploitative businessman who didn't care what others were feeling as long as he got his way. It showed the unhappiness, distress and uncomfortableness of Nerissa, who has no choice but to do as she's told, and it shows Bigby's compassion, his humanity, and his empathy.

I don't get why some people think the nudity is why the game was so late. Is it really really hard to draw tits or something? Or the developers and testers were so busy wanking they couldn't do their jobs?
And that makes it okay for him to treat her like shit? Nope. Also you could break it down however you want but the scene has no reason of being there. It certainly wasn't needed, which makes it, pointless.
However I can see why people are defending it. Nerissa is very pretty, and I know that if there was a nude Bigby scene, I wouldn't be complaining.
lol, sorry babycakes, but that line of work doesn't come with an HR department. Nerissa can go work in hospitality if she wants to be treated better. How did it have no reason for being there? YOU WENT TO A STRIP CLUB!!!!!!!!
People don't need to defend it. It made perfect sense in the context of the story.

Yeah we are kind ok with blood not with boobs. Don't know why, but many people are like that. when I was kid a reverend took us to movie gladiator, and he and kids were laughing at the scene maximus slicing enemy's neck.
and i have rights to say one humble opinion about game, when I paid for it. I didn't give them order what to do or not, i just expressed some opinion, what's the big deal? Anyway they don't care, they didn't care about us complaining about the delay or lack of feedback.

Is that what I said? No, I explained how that is commonly how women are treated in that line of work. I never claimed to approve or disapprove of it.
Take your hypersensitivity somewhere else you white knight.
White Knight doesn't mean "I respect women". It means you try to start arguments over women's rights when no one is attacking them. I never said anything about approving the abuse of women, but you felt the need to argue about it.
It was simply a mistake of something taken out of context, I never intentionally twisted your words, nor am I continuing to do so just to start an argument.

I'm sorry, bro. Let's hug it out.
It might be gratuitous, but it isn't really out of place. Despite the fantasy premise, TWAU is a hardboiled detective story. Prostitutes and strip clubs are staples of the genre. They're a part of the seedy, noir atmosphere commonly found in detective stories.
And, as others have pointed out, this game became gratuitous the moment it showed a woman's severed head. And that wasn't really necessary to the story - Faith could have been murdered without having been decapitated. How come gratuitous gore is okay, but gratuitous nudity is not?

I love how you say "I rest my case" as if you made some great point. It doesn't matter if it was open or closed. It's still a strip club that was opening in a few hours.
You really think an owner isn't going to view new dances that are going to take place on his stage? You clearly know nothing about the industry, so please stop debating as if you do.
And it seems like you do, which is a little worrying. Fine I'll put this as simply as I can. Which ever way the story went and despite it being a strip club (WHICH WAS CLOSED) The scene wasn't needed, it just wasn't and you know that's true.
As I said before, I had no problem with the scene, it was just pointless. We could of conveyed Georgie being a dick to Nerissa while her top was on. Everyone knows that. Calm down, I really don't want to fight with you here. Unfortunately you seem to think otherwise.

That's your opinion. The scene was needed to set up the characters of Georgie and Narissa. That whole sequence explained everything you needed to know about them. Stop saying it was closed, that doesn't matter. Like most businesses people are working before and after it opens.
Except that Nerissa is a stripper...in a strip club. As I said before, a lot of strippers will have to demonstrate a new routine before they take it to the stage. I haven't been anything but calm, don't be so sensitive.

I never get people's concern with nudity. It's a game for mature audience so I personally expect a mature audience to be able to stand the sight of a pair of boobs... It's not like we have never seen any before.
Plus it makes sense in the story and helps character development. Also Nerissa's model, while being pretty and sexy, is far from the usual ultra-exaggerated and ultra-sexualized view of women; and her dancing does not come off as particularly arousing because of the discomfort she clearly feels (which helps the narrative)

Stupid Hans who threw calf's eyes at his girlfriend wanting to be an exotic dancer, lol.

Anything involving sexuality is going to generate a lot of heated discussion.
erm... Bigby... nude? What issue?
How was it unnecessary? You were in a strip club. Did you expect the little mermaid to be in a sweater?

Took the words right out of my mouth!
lol, how was it pointless? You went to investigate the owner of a strip club. Also it isn't Georgie's fault that Nerissa chose that line of work.
I don't get why some people think the nudity is why the game was so late. Is it really really hard to draw tits or something? Or the developers and testers were so busy wanking they couldn't do their jobs?

I agree on all counts. I think people need to stop reacting and really try to understand the context of these decisions.
Exactly! Texturing the nipples probably cost them 3.5 months extra.

well it is a STRIP club, its not like ur gonna walk in and all the girls are dancing with their clothes on, that would be bad for business.
I'm glad that you approve of the abuse of women. Please tell me how that makes your girlfriend feel?
Is that what I said? No, I explained how that is commonly how women are treated in that line of work. I never claimed to approve or disapprove of it.

Yes Charming..we did go to a strip club...that was closed.
I rest my case.
lol u two r funny. u try hugging him while hes like WTF I don't need a hug. Communicating through gifs is awesome.
Dude didn't you know in Strip clubs everybody wears clothes!
Teehee. Nude people c:
Love you, Telltale, for adding nude people to game. The 14 year old kid in me is pleased c:

Gratuitous I believe is the word he was looking for, although I'm not sure it would really be that "gratuitous" in this instance.
