Can somebody provide me proof of the 4-6 weeks release schedule?

So yeah, I'm curious...did TT really say this?

If yes, please link me to the relevant page.

Usually would imply more often than not. In this case, we need to wait four times for new episodes. Hence, if they missed the 4-6 weeks window the first time round, they have an obligation to not miss it anymore.

Which means, in purely legal terms, we have a right to refund the next time they miss the deadline.

Thanks for the link and I'm gonna be needing it when I request a refund in 2 months time. To teach Telltale a God-damned lesson. (No hard feelings as I think their games are good but they bit off more than they could chew this time around).

http://www.telltalegames.com/walkingdead/season2-faq/ Note that it says "usually".

  • I dont have any links for ya but I will say, playing from season 1 episode 1 the wait between each episode was more like 7-8 weeks.

  • The wording of the FAQ was more likely than not intended to serve as a vague rule of thumb (to educate people on how Telltale does episodic gaming) rather than an official, concrete guarantee.

Granted, I am only a community volunteer mod who is not directly connected to Telltale, but I don't really think you have much of a case in terms of "purely legal terms" as you put it. Since Telltale works on games live during a season, they typically work on each episode until a short time before they are released. As a matter of fact, I would imagine they try to avoid anything outside of purposefully vague estimates for this very reason.

Well if you think one lost sale will affect Telltale in the slightest, go right ahead and try to get a refund.

  • Rule of thumb would not apply here. If you look at TWD S1, the first two wait times was 8 weeks and the last two were 6 weeks. So it would have been more fair to say 6-8 weeks, but no TTG wanted to be ambitious and went ahead and said 4-6 weeks anyways.

  • Alone, I would make no difference. Collectively, we could.

Also, I'd be making a statement of intent with such a move, and anyways actions speak louder than words.

  • I bought season one 2 times and season two 2 times as well and i'm probably buying it again from the telltale store for that glorious collector's dvd. Good luck trying to convince people to ask for a refund.

Looking at the answer from the FAQ, it says:

There are five episodes in each season. Episodes are usually available to download between 4 and 6 weeks apart.

Going off of how they phrase it, It's a possibility they were referencing past seasons from other games as well. Again, this goes back to my point that it seems the question was more so to inform people how Telltale handles episodic gaming in general as opposed to this specific instance.

Keep in mind that news for Episode 2 has been teased on Twitter/Facebook, and Puzzlebox (from Telltale) just days ago shared on Twitter that she had played through Episode 2. We are obviously getting the next episode sooner than later.

  • Go ahead and make your statement of intent. The rest of us are going to continue enjoying the amazing games Telltale create.

  • Yes. First two wait times were 8 weeks and next two six weeks.
