I know me too . Could you imagine if he was part of the original group with Carly and Lilly. What would be said, how would they react? That engagement would be classic. Imagine him and Ben talking, the possibilities are endless.
Yeah I miss Nate too, I hope he does comeback and if he does I hope he's as funny as he was. I would love to see him around women and how he would interact with Clem. I imagine he'd be rude to them, can you imagine the things he'd say! lol
Jane creeps me out. There's a nasty streak of Darwinism in her that makes Carver's personal philosophy look downright cuddly. The expression on Jane's face when she's about to shoot Troy in the crotch haunts my sleep.
Tavia would be a huge possibility considering the camp would be overrun and they would be pissed losing their home and supplies. Jane seems a bit weird but I don't think she would be an antagonist she's more like Molly or Daryl. Or we might see Eddie and the rest of the 400days cast in Wellington and the season would end in an epic battle between Wellington vs Tavia camp.
Nate isn't even really that evil, just the kind of guy who's nice to you all the time but when strangers piss him off, he will not hold back in the least and basically has no conscience at all.

I think it's possible that Kenny's frontal lobe might have taken some abuse in the emotional stability department, even if only a little. I don't think they'll ever touch on it from that angle, but the idea that he might have taken just enough damage in the right places to want to beat a man to death instead of shoot him in the head will be my personal theory until and if we get to learn what he did after contact with people we know he knew and before contact with people we know he met. I don't think they'd do that with Kenny. I can see Clem being his moral influence right now, even if he doesn't always listen to her.
Jane's only as villainous as a looking out for herself and leaving other people in the dirt to do it can make her, without wishing harm on people or resorting to authoritarian principles. She's not gonna be an enemy, just a potential obstacle.
I don't really know with Tavia. I think she's one of the people in Carver's camp who went along with the change in management for the food, water and shelter. There are people who would argue that what no matter what Carver did, living under his rules is better than living outside where necessities are harder to come by, and I think she was one of those people. If we ever see any more of Carver's group, I hope we get to see Wyatt among them and put that whole thing behind us.
I think Nate is the most likely candidate. He seems like the type of person who gets things done. A gas station is the place where Clem and the cabin group decided to meet up at after leaving Carver's camp. It might be the same gas station from 400 Days, which means Nate might be there, or in the general area as the place he chose to make his "zone", where he just kills and steals. He wasn't alone in 400 days, we know he went all-out against Eddie and Wyatt when Eddie shot one of his pals. So maybe he's in a group of people who do this, but just straight-up killers, unlike the bandits that camped out near the St. John Dairy.
They're interesting theories, I just hope that whoever it is, that they make a good story out of it, btw the place you mention is not the 400 days gas station, it's a trailer park.

I know this is hardly conclusive, but the image for episode 4 makes it seem highly unlikely to me that the enemy will just be 'time' or 'zombies.' Clem is practically putting on warpaint, as other characters (including Eddie from 400 days) rally behind her. It gives me the sense of a group going to war, not of a group just trying to survive walkers.
Moreover, such an approach means the complete and total waste of any 400 days character who isn't Bonnie. There needs to be a pretext for them to appear again, this time with actual roles in the storyline, and Tavia provides a beautiful one.
I don't think Tavia has the menace to provide the series with a long-lasting antagonist, but will she and her followers make an appearance, probably seeking revenge? Yes. Yes, I think they will.
I would like the idea of either Kenny having to be put down or Nate coming back somehow and being a menace to the group, I think Jane being a villain would be interesting but I don't think it would be that good same if Tavia returns I think it would be too predictable what would happen and she isn't bad enough really.
I feel like Tavia won't show up again. Had Troy survived, I'm sure he would have hunted the group down, but Tavia probably knows when to let… more go.
The most likely candidate is either Jane, Nate, or someone new. That truck in the episode 4 preview could be hinting at something.
To be honest I'd rather see Nate in an anti-hero/Merle role.
I'm not really considering Kenny as an option, though he might become more unstable.
Nate's really more of an anti-hero.
Jane is crazy, and I don't trust her... But I don't she'll be a villain either.
Tavia I think will be the next villain. We've ruined their community, and they've got nothing now, I'd assume that the remaining survivors will probably want to hunt us down, led by, of course, Tavia.
Tavia's community feared Carver I think and as long as they keep the walker herd away then I think Tavia will be happy that Carver is dead, you could tell that after Reggie's death people at the community including those close to Carver were starting to have doubts about him.

Ah, before episode 3 I was actually thinking that Kenny would appear as a hero in episode 3, only to later found out that he killed Luke during the attack out of jealousy (he wanted Clem to emotionally "replace" Duck), and then Kenny would become some kind of an antagonist.
But nope. Telltale probably came up with something better. I really hope Nate will show up and create chaos!
Tavia-Probably not she is really good I think that Carver is dead they all can return to normal I think Troy didn't know that Carver died and weird he didn't his body
Jane-A lot of mystery I like her just because you heard a line that you didn't like that doesn't mean she turns evil If she want to manipulate someone she might manipulate Mike not a little girl.Jane *thumbs up*
Nate-He has a dangerous sense of humor he might have died , but he is a cool dude and IF you fuck with Nate you will regret it. Nate probably IF you fuck with.
Kenny-Probably? I don't know really he might go insane but It is really hard to think that he turns evil If anything he'll become the Larry that he hated.

The only reason I give a flying crap about Tavia returning is that the other 400 days characters need a pretext to be part of the rest of the story. If all they amount to is a meaningless cameo in Episode 3, I'll be kinda disgusted with how far Telltale's claims of 'our choices affecting the story' have fallen. I'll certainly think twice before buying anymore DLCs from them.

I would like to see more zombies as the antagonist.. An episode devoted more to the group being trapped having to fight them. Kinda like the house in Savanna, or the pharmacy in Macon.. They have to board the doors and windows, fight the never ending zombies, try to escape.. Maybe someone get's bitten or hurt.. They have to deal with that too. Overall I would just like to see an episode where the zombies are the main focus.
I personally don't want to see Nate as a full-blown long term antagonist. I think setting him as one could actually ruin his character if not done carefully. Though he can indeed be a huge threat to those he sees as enemies (like Eddie and Wyatt), I didn't see his actions as something which would somehow prove that he’s supposed to be THE evil psycho villain.
It's interesting to note that in both occasions he has gone murderous; there's always been aggression from the other person. Eddie shot Nate's friend and the old man tried to shoot him and Russell. We have not yet seen Nate go killing anyone without being provoked. He's also able to empathize with those he has formed some sort of attachment to. He let’s Russell go without a fight and even forgives him for pointing a gun at him, acknowledging that the kid is under stress and that he himself was being an asshole before. In contrast, for his enemies he seemingly has no empathy at all.
Giving Nate the villain status could rob this one rather glaring trait from him (and one of the biggest reasons I like him) which is his unpredictability. For now he seems just as likely to help someone as he is to hinder them. Just the fact that he's bored might be enough justification for him to aid you and be your new (kind of fucked up) friend. He’s quick to form attachments since he honestly seemed to believe he and Russell were friends. We don't yet know what it takes for him to view you as the enemy (except trying to kill him or his friends) but when he does, that's a very dangerous positions for you.
I fear setting him up as the villain, would make this duality of his character go away.
Yes, he definitely has issues and I’m not saying he’s good… but I’m also not saying he’s entirely bad. He does have potential to be dangerous to the group but I think that should largely depend on how you act and who you associate yourself with. Judging by how he acted with Russell, Nate does NOT strike me as one who would target you from the get-go but if, for example, you support Eddie when Nate confronts you, he could see you as the enemy. Then there’s of course the possibility that he has gotten more deranged as the time has passed. Maybe because of loneliness, since he does seem like a social person.
I don’t have problems with them setting Nate as an antagonist (they kind of already did) but I do have problems with how it should be done. If they make him the actual villain I think they should handle it with care. If he pulls another Carver-esque antagonist with little to no redeeming qualities at all, I would be very disappointed. Nate was such a perfectly crafted character. One you could love one moment and hate the another. (I personally thought he was hilarious.)
So... yeah. I was supposed to write my opinion about the other suggested characters too but I think I have big enough wall of text already. Brlb.
I would love to see Nate again in an antagonistic role. He was such a good character in 400 Days, it would be a shame not to see him again.
Though I don't see him as a long term antagonist. Maybe he's initially friendly to the group, but when the 400 Days characters get involved (specifically Russell, Wyatt, and possibly Eddie), and he winds up doing bad something that has major repercussions for the group. Like getting a bunch of them killed, or destroying their one shot to get to Wellington.
He'd be good as a one-time villain, but a villain who has a major affect on the story. Sort of like Vernon with the boat. I don't really consider Vernon a full-fledged villain, but he started out nice and winded up royally screwing over the group. Nate could do the same thing but on a much more extreme level.
I agree with you 100% and as much as I hope Nate returns I hope his character is not ruined because he really is hilarious like you said and well crafted, he could be end up being a main character if he starts out good with the group. But I think his antagonist side could come out if he is around any attractive women as he has a perverted obsession. I also wonder how he would get on with Clementine, as much as he likes women there is nothing to suggest that he's a paedophile so instead he'd probably just end up being a bad influence on her.
I personally don't want to see Nate as a full-blown long term antagonist. I think setting him as one could actually ruin his character if no… moret done carefully. Season one only had antagonists in episode 2 and 5 really.
I'd much prefer if they simply focused on the group dynamic.
And well, if there happens to be a screaming baby, walkers all of a sudden become more than enough of a threat.
But nope. Telltale probably came up with something better. I really hope Nate will show up and create chaos!
