Obviously they are entitled to get what they paid for...

    Nice edit.

  • Admittedly, my incessant fear of rushed deadlines may make me too lenient of delays. There could be more updates during the longer waits, but people are more prone to complain about a less polished product than the time it takes to receive it.

Don't bother with this guy, Morgan. He's just another random nobody who wants to play adult.

So how WOULD you like us to act, Gangolas? If we're not permitted to criticize, are we at least allowed to post words? Or is that something you'll outlaw too?

  • Nah. He's what you call a "Telltale Apologist".

Criticism is criticism no matter how it's done. How about you stop whining and deal with it? If fans of any game developer/franchise want to call bullshit then it's their right. Telltale is a big company they can deal with it.

Maybe they didn't expect people to be so immature about it?

  • That's what apologist do on the internet.

  • Interesting how people say there have been delays even though no definitive release date has been given for Episode 2 and so no nothing has been able to be delayed in the first place. Also, if they had a 'blackout policy' you wouldn't know the game was going to be released until it was available for everyone. And they won't be doing you any favors by releasing the work you paid for, because that's just an exchange like any other transaction, so your impression of what's going on doesn't make much sense. If you're going to complain again, put some thought into it before you post.

  • The lack of patience on these boards astounds me. If you waited for episodes in season 1, there's no reason to be surprised by their lack of release date disclosure. There is no winning when it comes to giving updates. Not only will complaints of "When is the release date?" won't stop, people will start to say, "I can't believe they are still doing that. What is taking them so long?!"

Just wait for all 5 episodes to release. It will save you the frustration.

  • being someone who has been with telltale for some years, i understand where you're coming from. telltalle USED TO put out an episode every month. then TWD happened and now we don't know when we'll get episodes and they don't tell us anything. at this point in time, i've just gotten used to it and we'll just get it when we get it

  • This is the second season after all, if you thought they were unprofessional, you should have stayed away. Whining does you no good. They never made a promise of 4-6 week. Just an estimate.

Maybe people wouldn't react that way if TTG wouldn't be so unprofessional.

    timmymacnj is right.

Let's suppose you order something from a mail order warehouse and pay it up front. The warehouse receives your Money and tells you that you will receive your order in approx. 4 - 6 weeks because they usually deliver within this timespan. 6 weeks pass, and you still haven't received your order. You ask the warehouse "What's wrong?" and they simply respond: "You will receive your order SUPER SOON!". Ok, you wait for another week and then you ask again "What's wrong?". Now they answer: "Sorry, but we haven't even forwarded your order by now! You will have to wait!". You ask: "Ok, so why did you tell me that I will receive it "super soon?", but the warehouse simply doesn't respond to your question. 2 weeks later they come up and say: "You will receive your order in 11 or 12 weeks instead of 4 or 6 weeks, but we won't tell you the reason for this delay!" Wouldn't you be pissed, and would you really consider to order at this warehouse again?

That's bad Service and that's exactly what TTG does.

  • Well said. Sadly, reasoning skills such as this are to be found far and between the community members here, 99% of which are made up of hardcore Telltale loyalists and apologists.

  • What amazes me the most is the fact that people make it seem like Telltale is doing us a favor by releasing these games at all or by giving us a simple screenshot. Last time I checked, I paid for their product. It isn't being handed to me for free. I'm not complaining about receiving charity. I'm upset because the delays result in an inferior product to me. I would like having the episodes released in a timely manner since that increases my enjoyment of the game - hitting that perfect niche of episodic games where you've waited long enough that your excitement has built for the next episode, but you haven't forgotten everything that happened and haven't gotten frustrated and fed up with the wait. Unfortunately, for many of us, we are at the point of frustration and maybe even beyond, which is diminishing the value of the experience we initially paid for. That is my problem with the delays.

  • Well said. Finding the right balance is challenging but 11 weeks of waiting is still 11 weeks. Much longer than projected.

  • Murdered You!!!!

  • I understand people getting angry about Telltale for they didn't keep their promise. And they have every right to be. We're their supporters. They should care about us. But The Walking Dead isn't the only game that your computer allow you to play right? There are lots of games we have. Why don't you go play them? Like Mass Effect Trilogy? It's about choice and consequences. Like The Last Of Us? It has same Apocalypse story. My main point is:"Don't stuck just one game. Enjoy the other journeys until yours knocks the door."

I'm bored of this argument too man. Just like you said we have a lot of games. I agree with you. I just wanted to give people some examples that they can entertaint themselves until the second episode come out. But I think turns out they're thinking I'm just another game advertiser.

You seem to be under the impression that it's always possible to get an episode out on time and still have the level of quality we expect from a Telltale game. It isn't. Telltale aren't doing us a favour by delaying these games, they're doing us a service by having an episodic model at all. No other developer can produce a game with the same speed and quality that Telltale can. None. Every other developer that ever tried to make episodic games has abandoned it because they can't make quality games in such a short amount of time.

Telltale's episode model isn't perfect, but what are you comparing it to?

  • No. . . i know you are not knowledgeable here but there was a delay I believe for 3 of the 5 episodes in season 1. This is not a one time thing unfortunately. In 70+ days when Episode 3 isn't out you'll hear the same exact thing. And it is completely warranted.

  • You paid for a product and you got it. You get to b*tch if they deny it to you. Also, TTG can stop making games if they wanted to, your whining wouldn't change that one bit. So, don't think it does.
