If one of the series had to come to an end. Which one would you choose?
Okay, this is just a hypothetical and not to be taken seriously. If Telltale announces that one series has to come to a close so the other one can continue. Which one would you choose to end abruptly? The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us?
Personally, as much as I like TWAU. I love TWD even more and can't just end it where it left off.

Tales from the Borderlands
twau is going to end first anyway cause unlike twd it actually needs to end so it does not collide with the comics but if i had to choose which one had to end definitely twau i just love twd more
Hating on a game before its release. Classy. Get out.
TWAU. Don't even need to think about it.
I was being a smartass, no need to get defensive
TWAU would be out the window if it was that or the walking dead. By a long shot.
I don't know what I will do when this series comes to an end for good.
I hope there's a season 3.
Hahaha are you kidding?
TWAU is probably going to be a one-off anyway.
I love The Walking Dead & Fables comics equally, but as far as the games go... I'd rather see Wolf Among Us be canned honestly.
The Wolf Among Us. As much as I'm LOVING it. It's obviously not planned to be long-term like The Walking Dead is. Telltale didn't expect TWD to get as popular as it is, and they want to embrace The Walking Dead more. And as for which one I prefer, The Walking Dead. Why? For one, it had a more emotional impact on it's storyline from the 8 episodes we've had AND, it's had 8 episodes. More content means you've come to enjoy that entertainment more.
Plus, if I ever want to see Bigby or Snow again I can just read the Fables comics. But if The Walking Dead ends, I'll never get to see any new stories involving Lee, Clementine and the other survivors ever again. And they're some of the most well written and adoring characters I've ever seen in fiction (Clementine taking the adorable part, pretty much completely). If it ended, we'd just be stuck with Rick and Carl. And that would suck.
Are you kidding? The Wolf Among Us. i'm loving it so far, but it's nowhere near as good as the Walking Dead.
True, I'm not sure if The Wolf Among Us will even make it to Season 2, because it will eventually collide with the comics. Also, it doesn't seem like it will work long-term like TWD.
Amen.
Yeah. Besides, the fable comics are supposed to end soon anyways.
^This right here
Wolf among us, surely
Too emotionally attached to The Walking Dead to see it go. Sorry TWAU.
To be fair the setting of the Walking Dead supercedes this.
The Zombies ain't going anywhere, so that seriess must go on. As Jewfreeus said, the game is indeed a prequel and canon thus far.
Unless Biby becomes a zombie....
Wolf Among Us, its awesome so far but we can always read the comics which are very good, but I really couldn't care less, now that Kenny is back in The Walking Dead's latest episode.
The Wolf Among Us. Episode 2 was so weak, I'd stop now if I didn't already buy a season pass.
I really hope there is a season 3 of the walking dead. I would have the pick the wolf among us I don't know why but I don't find it as interesting as The walking dead.
Did you think you wouldn't get a biased response by posting this thread in The Walking Dead forums?
Haha! Too true! Personally, I don't want to see Wolf end. It's just getting started.
The Wolf Among Us, easily. I love the game, but I'm far more attached to The Walking Dead, plus I'm more of a zombie guy than I am a serial killer investigation guy.
RIP in peace TWAU.
Sorry 'The Wolf Among Us', as much as I'm enjoying your story, I'd choose 'The Walking Dead' over you any day.
In all seriousness, it's not even a close call in my opinion. I'm not nearly as attached to TWAU due to Clementine, and it's more of a crime drama. I could always read the Fables comics if I wanted to revisit that universe, but if Telltale decided to end TWD, I would never see or hear from my beloved characters, such as Kenny, Nick or Luke again. And even if they died, I still much prefer this version compared to Rickman's, as I've never been too big a fan of Rick and Carl. The TV show isn't all that impressive either.
yeah If one had to be cancelled the wold among us would have to go, the walking dead is to fun and to good.
People keep saying they're more attached to the Walking Dead characters. We'll duh! We spent two seasons with them as opposed to only two episodes of TWAU. In that way, it's not really a fair comparison.
A month ago, I would've said TWAU.
But if the season goes on mainly like E2, I'd rather have TWD S2.
TWAU seems to be more of an intense crime drama that makes you think in a logical based way, not emotions, so I don't think I'd ever get as close to the fables as the survivors in TWD. Plus, I'm more into the horror genre than fantasy. I'm not saying it's bad of course; it's a fabulous story, and I applaud it's twists and turns that sweep us off our feet. But the thing is, I'm just not feeling the emotional impact which I got from the very first episode of TWD, and that's what got me hooked on this series. I cared about my choice between Doug and Carley, because even though I barely knew them, I wanted both to survive.
The zombie world carries on. There isn't an expiration date. TWAU will eventually have to end, as it will start to go off canon with Bigby and Snow.
TWAU, definitely.
I love TWAU but I'm way more attached to Clem and her story than I ever will be to Bigby and Snow.
TWAU
Because i need more TWD
I still can't even play the newest episode of TWAU, so fuck that game. Sucks because I really liked the first episode, but let's be real, it's been made clear TWD is their favorite child.
TWAU
TWD is also Telltales cash cow
Season 3 would be a stretch.
TWAU
I do like the game but i don't feel any attachment to the characters like i have done for TWD, after 2 episodes of season 1 i really cared about everyone in TWD but i don't feel that way about anyone in TWAU, even when Snow White was decapitated and appeared to be dead i wasn't too sad about it compared to the Kat/Dick situation in episode 3
You make some fair points but I think the Fables Universe has more potential. The problem that Ive always had with the comic is that in The walking Dead universe, you are really just telling one story. Thats why it started to get repetitive for me. Its a simple story of survival. The antagonists keep changing but the story never does. The only reason I want to see The Walking Dead game continue into another season is because I like watching Clementine grow up. Thats interesting to me. The same with Carl in the tv show. The Fables Universe has so many characters that they can tap into. It doesnt just have to be a gritty crime noir staring Bigby. The next series could star any character. It could change genres depending on who it's focused it. It doesnt have to be a one-off and I honestly dont think they intended it to be. They can go all the way back to the Homelands if they want, or they can go into the future, once the comic book wraps up. There is so much more material they can get out of the Fables universe, IMO, and it wouldnt get stale.
TWAU definitely.
TWD's stories and characters is just way too good to give up now.
FOR CLEMENTINE!
TWD game could technically go on forever but it would just be dragging it out and it would probably just be the same old thing. I hope it never ends but it will sometime as all things do. Whenever it does end I hope it is on a high and all concluded. Not left with a stupid ending.
Every story, regardless on what it's about, will continue on with different antagonists. So I don't think that's my biggest worry for 'The Walking Dead'. You could say the same thing about real life, as we (or at least most of us) don't give up when we run into additional problems along our ways. Like Nick said in Episode 2 if you choose a certain dialogue option when you saved him, "What's the difference? Here, there, it's all the same. Eventually, it will be our turn.". The wheel turns, but nothing is new.
I completely agree with you though on the comics; it did get stale for me incredibly fast, but honestly, I feel like that is Kirkman's fault. His universe has so much potential, and I have complete faith (no pun intended) that Telltale will do an exponentially better job. Not to mention that this version is interactive compared to the comics and TV show, so we're more invested. Carl's story isn't all that important to me. As someone else here pointed out before, "Death is the mother of beauty.", and the stories of the survivors in this game really show that. We feel joy, grief, anger, annoyance, and/or happiness when their lives start and end. It's not just Clementine I'm invested in, but everyone else around her as well. Even the ones I don't like. I'd hate it if the book just closed on them after two seasons. TWAU has some great characters, but when some died, it didn't hit me that hard. It was more shock than anything. I was just trying to figure out who the killer is, and that's it. Again, they've based it a lot more on a logical way of thinking than emotional from the get go, so I don't think they're going to take a similar direction with that series. Yes they could always change genres, but it will always be in the fantasy compartment, and no doubt they want to give it a different feel than TWD.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, haha. Each to their own, and everyone has different tastes. I respect your opinion.
