I got so excited when I saw Clemtine with Omid ( one of my favorites from s1) and Christa at the beginning then to just see him get killed that early... I'm not gonna lie, I teared up once I comprehended what had just happened.

I'm pretty sure if another person would've posted that image in this particular thread, people would've also asked at least for an explanation as to why they did it.

I was kind of annoyed it was he very first scene. Don't get me wrong, I am not against killing him off early in Ep1, but… more not this way, with the couple's only reintroduction being those few lines of dialogue. I would have added another scene before to make the current intro more shocking and to give new and old players an idea of why we should care that dude died.
Of course, maybe it works best as a one-time quick shock and saves time on replays.
I was more shocked than anything at first, but then Christa's reaction was just sad. When she gave Clementine that look, it feels she's looking through the screen, thinking "this is your fault...both of you." I hang my head in shame every single time.

I was surprised he died so soon, but not much more really. I've gotten more or less used to TWD characters I like (from the comic) being killed off throughout the series, characters I'd gotten to know more than Omid.
I was a little more miffed at the loss of Christa's baby, since it felt like a consequence of the change up in writing staff (Vanaman and Rodkin leaving I mean). Like how in the show, at the end of season 3, when the Woodbury survivors arrive at the prison. Then near the beginning of season 4, the writing staff systematically kills them all off with that plague. At least the show bothered to give a reason and story for that cast slimming. At least, that's just how I saw it.
I realize the game's writers may be saving most of this for Rebecca's baby, which is fine. The writers could have given Christa a miscarriage several months before the start of episode 1, but they didn't. So maybe Christa's baby and his/her loss will indeed come into play later. But by now, Clem's given short histories to Luke and Kenny. As well as all the references the dialogue alone has made to family. Not once has any mention of Christa's baby been made. Once the entire season is out, or even next episode, I may feel differently.
Yeah Omid was a bloody legend, shame he got shot in the heart by that little shit. When it happened my jaw dropped so much i bet you could have parked a plain in their XD
