Other good zombie games?

The title says it all, do you know any other great zombie games like twd? It doesn't have to be exactly like this, but just about zombies.

I personally find left for dead 1 & 2 to be great zombie games, though l4d and twd have nothing in common just they're about zombies.

  • the last of us

  • The Last of Us for sure. Left 4 Dead 2 and CoD Zombies (Those are the shooting ones).

  • Left 4 Dead, Call of duty: Zombies, DayZ, Last of Us, Dying Light, Dead Island, Dead Rising, these are a few that come to mind

  • State of Decay looks great, though I don't know for sure. Haven't played it myself.

People already said what I was gonna answer:Last of us. Other games I played beside that were Left For Dead and Dead Rising.

I'm pretty interested about some good zombie games as well. Then again, I'm almost completely certain there isn't one as story based as TWD. Just a heads up:).

    THE LAST OF US

  • There are plenty of feral ghouls in Fallout 3. Not exactly zombies, but close enough.

  • Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare was pretty good, as was REmake.

  • Well, state of decay is rly one of my favourite zombie games, but like all other games of this category it's incomparable to TWD. But if u are looking for some more action, I recommend that game to you.

  • Survival Instinct

  • I really enjoyed playing State of Decay on the Xbox.

  • Project Zomboid. (this one is the most realistic you'll get)

    State of Decay.

    Left 4 Dead 1 and 2.

    Survival Instinct:

The art, too, is wonderfully realised, both making the world a dangerous but curious place, and giving a great deal of life to the characters. Just look at Daryl's expressiveness even without words. It plays right into the hands of its comic book counterpart, and leaves the game anything but lifeless. From the very beginning, Survival Instinct sinks its teeth in and never lets you go. It's a journey in the truest sense of the word, replete with tragedy, heartache, tension, fear, and even brief moments of catharsis. Calling Survival Instinct a work of entertainment almost seems like a misnomer, considering the heavy tone and general lack of sentimentality in the writing.

(In other words, it's fucking horse shit!)

  • Left 4 Dead 2 is what I'd recommend If you're into more action and less story that is.

  • The Last of Us fans unite!

    Damn straight.

  • Dying Light looks like it'll be a good game, State of Decay is fun.

  • Except they won't release it on PC so this game is useless. Why won't consoles just die already?

  • Consoles are generally easier to use and more user friendly. Plus the concept of a small(ish) controller is superior to a bulky keyboard and mouse (I know controllers can be made to work with pc, but implementation can be a hassle). Also connection is usually smoother with less kinks in the system.

In the end there are pros and cons to consoles and pc.

  • Yes!

  • Left 4 dead,the last of us, PvZ,cod zombies.

  • does Bioshock count? great game series

Plants vs. Zombies is also nice :-P

  • Depends on the gamer, I can't aim using the controller, it usually prevents me from aiming directly where I want (if I try to turn it goes too far, changing the sensitivity destroys the speed meaning even harder gaming). A mouse and keyboard isn’t "Bulky", the keyboard has many more keys (of which probably won't be used), and most gamers on computers actually do have a gaming mouse and keyboard that suits them.

As I said, it depends on the gamer, I'm a hardcore PC gamer, and can only get away with a controller when trying to play Fifa or some crap like that. Yes there are good and bad point's about both, but controler wise, it's how the player likes to play.

  • Of course there will be those who don't fit the description. There are always exceptions that prove the rule. The majority of gamers are as I stated. Also by what I meant by smaller is more versatile. It's easily moved, repositioned, and more engaging. If you want to stand up and jump up and down while playing Mario kart (yeah, that's me) then by all means. If you want to stand up and jump around while playing on the pc well.... keep your arm down. As I said, it's the majority rule.

  • Resident Evil 1-3, Code Veronica, Outbreak 1,2 - these games are classical survival horrors. They're awesome.

  • Plants vs zombies is an incredibly fun game, and they even made a second one!................. ok... I'm joking. but they are both pretty fun.

As a lot of others have already said (and for some strange reason gotten lots of down votes) The last of us. Amazing game with a great story, nice graphics, good dlc, not bad multiplayer...i could go on(although if your going to be picky it's technically not a zombie game per say but rather a fungi).

State of decay if you have XBox is amazing, piss poor graphics and laggy gameplay, but that's to be expected from an arcade game and it's still fun as hell, half decent story and somewhat more realistic than most other zombie games, you'll also get your moneys worth as you can play it for days, if not weeks straight with the new DLC.

COD zombies isn't all that bad if your into FPS but it can get a bit boring/repetitive after a while.

Iv'e never been a fan of left for dead, but many others swear by it.

Dead island isn't so bad, but it does fall short of other zombie games. In the words of IGN the zombie the story is a flimsy hook on which to hang the zombie killing - basically the stories a bit crap - but the awesome zombie killing makes up for it.

Dead risings pretty cool, absolutely rubbish story but has some replay value for the zombie killing and customization.

The DLC for red dead redemption (in fact red dead in general) is pretty awesome for a good story line. Unlike most zombie games it's killing is not all that - but it's story is good.

EDIT what's with all the down votes on this thread O.o
