He can hit her?? What did you say to him??

  • Negan hinted at this in the comics... But he wasn't serious. Or if he was, he withdrew the intentions once Carl shot at him.

  • Oh that explains why I totally missed the reference!

  • The way Carver says, "You have a good day now" was so spooky

  • Ohh...I thought you were talking about when he comes into the cabin...

if you protect Alvin he hits her in the stomach with the pistol.

  • I did not shake his hand. i said "what's YOUR name" and told him I was with my dad and that we were just moving through. I grabbed for the knife the second time we were given the choice to. I was really rude as hell and then said the picture of Sarah was probably someone who had lived there before. And I still pretended not to know what he was talking about when he asked if the cabin group trusted me. I was like hell ya sassy Clem!

  • I mostly answered his questions with either questions of my own ("what's YOUR name") or replies that didn't answer his questions ("That's a lot of people to lose"). After he found Sarah's photo, I was careful to maintain the stance of avoiding his questions as best as possible and not revealing anything if I could. Even chose to remain silent as he excused himself at the end, rather than ask why I shouldn't trust them.

Still got the "(?) He will remember that" message when I was quiet.

    Carver will remember that

  • On my last playthrough, I clammed up and didn't do/say anything except close the door on him and go for the knife. Carver basically spent five minutes walking around the cabin and talking up a storm, while Clem glared at him.

  • I'm kinda curious on what he does if you mention Pete

  • I think if Clem jumps and protects Alvin, Carver is actually going to show more respect towards her. He seems like the kind of guy who values loyalty and bravery.

Who wouldn't be impressed by such a brave act by a little girl? Risking her life to protect a friend like that.

  • That kind of respect might apply even if you go to find Kenny. Finding Kenny in spite of all the well-armed guards and the sounds of Carlos being tortured takes guts AND skill. I definitely think Carver will try to mold Clementine into a lieutenant of sorts, kind of like Bonnie, but more impressionable and (presumably) easier to brainwash. Needless to say, he probably won't get his way.

  • I was pretty cold to him. My greeting was "Get out, I have a gun", I grabbed for the knife immediately and tried to dodge his questions (That's a lot of people to lose, I'm here with a big group, I don't know that girl in the photo, ...). I also protected Alvin! I really don't know what to make of Carver, I don't trust him, but I don't take trust the cabin group to 100% either :/

  • Same deal as most people; cold and steady. I told him I had a gun, and that I was with a large group, that Sarah was my dead sister... and I also didn't grab the knife because Carver had a freaking gun so I decided not to take the risk. :P

As for the part where I got Clem jumping in to save Alvin... could I just say how epic that moment was? I mean like, yeah, she got hit pretty bad, but damn... I was pretty surprised when Clem just jumped in like that and knocked Carver down. A real heroic moment for good ol' Clem there.

  • Carver can break her ribs, but he will never break her spirit!

  • when I saw that Clem save Alvin I t remind me of Lee running and leap in to save her from a zombie in episode 1. I also decide to not grab the knife because Carver had a gun. I feel she would have better odds if she had the gun Lee gave on her at the time. but because Carver is smart maybe a distraction would be better.

  • I tried to lock him out. Then I chose to tell him my name was Carley purely for the fact that I was given the option and I want to bring up Carley as much as I can. I spilled the beans at the very last second and told him they locked me in the shed.... damn.

  • you can rewind to a past checkpoint you know, its not the end of the world lol.

    1. Tried to lock door
    2. Asked Carver his name not giving mine
    3. Said I was with dad & just passing through
    4. Asked if he had a dog (LOL) & asked for knife
    5. Everything else was fine until Carver found the photo & I messed up by saying it was my sister
    6. Still tried to play it cool though until...
    7. I threw caution to the wind and asked why I shouldn't trust THEM
    8. Carver blew me off and said "Have a nice day!"

Yeah, I got played, but now I knew Carver wasn't to be trusted (either???) because of his lack of transparency (he could have at least answered me). I did vouch for the cabin group later at the lodge. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.

  • Wouldn't that be breaking an unspoken code here? The code being "don't change your main playthrough without seeing it to the end" code.

you can rewind to a past checkpoint you know, its not the end of the world lol.

  • is that rule apart of the forums ? If it is, I didn't know so. yeah it really depends on the gamer. some gamers follow the rules of the game. others don't because its more fun.

I'm not a expert at gaming. and while I am not the sort of person who try to complete a game 100% of the time and I am not the person to change the save file of a game. that being said with telltale games I make a lot of mistakes. so I tend to repeat a checkpoint more then one time. sorry to offend you if I did, but that rule as good as it is really depends on the gamer.

  • It's not a rule, but people on here get kind of pissy if you dare mention the rewind function. Which I mean, makes sense to an extent if you're super into video games like TWD, where every choice has a repercussion of some kind. Everyone here is like, "You can't do that. It's the zombie apocalypse, you have to live with your choices."

For me, I try to keep a blind playthrough then once all of the seasons are over, I plan to replay it all, so I can make choices already knowing the end. (Essentially my 'perfect' playthrough.) There are instances for me however, where I do rewind on my blind playthrough if I feel it something critical. (Like me telling Kenny to keep shooting and shooting in episode 2. Stupid.) I guess what I'm trying to say is, everyone has different ways of playing this game, but the most common theme or 'rule' is that rewinding is this forbidden thing and you aren't a 'tru gamer' if you use it. Stupid, if you ask me.

  • thanks for tell me that. I couldn't know I've only been on the telltale site since the start 0f 2014 - I didn't know about how much people are pissed off by the mention of "rewind". I guess that understandable, walking dead is amazing game. but because its not talk about how do expect the new people to know that, you can't. its like a culture here and I mention a taboo word geez.

that "true gamer" thing sounds horrible. if a gamer was expert and wanted to go for that title good on them. but not all gamers are experts. some of us can't beat our 'times'.

    1. Hello
    2. What's your name?
    3. Ignore
    4. Please Leave
    5. I have a big group
    6. A lot of people to lose.
    7. Going North
    8. Do you know Christa?
    9. Over there.
    10. What happened to him?
    11. Nobody is here
    12. Must be someone who lived here
    13. Do you know them? (Since Carver figured out I was with the Luke's group, no point in hiding it, but being subtle)
    14. What's your point?
    15. Why shouldn't I trust them?

This was from my first time playing it. But I do like my more polite version as well, kinda shows Clem can be just as deceptive as him.

I have a feeling that the "Why shouldn't i trust them?" option may come back to bite you a bit. It shows that Clementine in a way believes some of what Carver was saying and is now a bit wary towards the group. Since Carver remembers what you said, he may try to use it to his advantage in the future episode to get Clem to trust him and turn her away from the group. Just a llittle theory though :3 (also apologies for grammar mistakes)

  • I tried to be as civil and polite as possible without giving too much information away, while not flat-out lying to him at the same time either. Basically, avoiding every question he gave me and attempting to redirect the conversation into something else. If I couldn't do that, I just chose silence.

When he found Sarah's picture I saw no point in trying to hide my affiliation with them anymore, he probably already knew the cabin group had been staying there in the first place. The "If they don't trust you, how can you trust them?" line really made me think.

I told him that it was just Clem and her dad... and when she said her dad's name was Ed I almost got kinda sad because I remembered from recently playing episode one of season one, her actual dad's name is Ed. Yeah, i'm over emotional. I also asked him his name and denied his handshake. I told asked him why I shouldn't trust the cabin group.

  • I yelled at him in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice, until he gave up asking me questions and left.

    • Insert BA Arnold Schwarzenegger here. *
