Almost worked. ALMOST. But yeah. There's no truly safe place in The Walking Dead. Get bitten by walkers in the city or taken out by bandits in the woods.
For it being a huge stretch, everyone in the group seemed pretty on board about the idea. It was better than doing nothing at all, and it didn't hurt to at least try.
No Carley died because she was mouthing off to lily (not smart but I can't blame her for that) Doug died because he was a hero (he didn't have to jump in front of ben) besides if Larry was alive don't you think that when that happened he would've also killed somebody
Whether he was dead or not doesn't matter in questioning whether Kenny was doing the right thing, sure.
However, it does matter when faci… moreng the wuesdtion of whether what Kenny did had the best outcome. Which it didn't.
It also led to the death of Carley/Doug as well, so...
Yes, but we didn't know how Lilly distributed the food. If she just picked favorites then sure, Larry can have as much food as he wants. But Mark said the way it worked was Lilly wanted everyone to have the chance to lose a meal, and if Larry was on that list, she might've secretly marked him off.
And Lilly as a leader didn't work out, and the player could see how much the group didn't like her survivalistic attitude. Well, besides Larry and determinantly Lee to an extent. (If you chose Carley she said "everyone looks up to you as a leader" and if you chose Doug Kenny holds up the St. Johns when Lilly specifically said not to, and the group didn't really care)
and I know I'm biased in thinking this way because I had Kenny's back since the beginning (Only made sense, he was with me longer than Lilly was and offered me a ride) but the way I see it is if you are loyal to Kenny he will have your back until the end, and if you are loyal to Lilly she tells everyone you're a murderer and nabs up your RV.
Did you or did you not give Clementine food because she was a member of your apocalypse family?
Do you think Kenny wouldn't give food to his son and wife?
Lilly did what we would have.
I like Kenny. But, as many people have stated, he does usually act like a prick. But he was in a power struggle with Lilly, had a legitimate reason to begrudge Larry, and Ben, and at least in my game, SAW HIS WIFE KILL HERSELF. Plus, the loss of his son, which fortunately, he was able to experience catharsis from by killing the boy walker in the attic. I remember reading an interview with someone from TellTale where (s)he mentioned that most players gave feedback regarding Larry in the form 'I'm gonna kill that motherfucker the first chance I get', because LARRY WAS A PRICK AND LEFT YOU TO DIE, but then many people tried to save him as soon as they got that opportunity. Now, in my first playthrough, I DID try to help Lilly save Larry, and then Kenny acted like a douche the rest of the game.
But really, what did Lilly do that made her less of an asshole? Defend her father regardless of the fact that she knew he was being an asshole 4/5 of the time? That's not conducive to group harmony. Try to start conflict at every opportunity? She thought it was appropriate to start an argument with Kenny at the beginning of Starving for Help, despite the fact that there were more pressing matters to tend to RIGHT NOW, even if she did have a point about not being able to take on more survivors. Regardless, she then gets in Lee's face about deciding how to divy up the food, and if you choose not to feed Larry (which remember, he left you to die first, with very little provocation), and DO feed Kenny, because at this point, he saved you when Larry left you to die, she takes the time to accuse you of playing favorites, even though she plays favorites by letting Larry be a throbbing, pulsing, veiny cock to everyone and not trying to put him back in line. Oh yeah, and she was going to kill Ben, regardless of the group's decision, and she tried gerrymander the votes by reducing Kenny, Katjaa, and Duck's votes down to 1. Oh, and she actively turned on the group when, ONCE AGAIN, in the middle of a shitty situation, she decided to let her personal feelings make things worse. Oh yeah and, she stole the SUV, unless you left her behind, which she deserved. Of course.... I also liked Lilly as well.
I guess I'm mostly trying to point out that (duh), everyone is under huge amounts of stress, and neither Lilly nor Kenny really handled most of those situations as well as someone aspiring to leadership should have. Woulda been great if Lee HAD been able to take a more central leadership role and step up more in the first season. But unless you played Lee like a saint, even Lee demonstrated cock-douchebaggery.
I was happy to see Kenny again, but he seems like he might be transferring his latent anger at Katjaa onto Sarita. Which, you know, again, is kind of shitty. But the game series really needs someone besides Clem walking around having pretend conversations with inanimate objects as a coping mechanism.
That's odd, because in my Kenny support playthrough, he ratted out to he group that I didn't shoot the girl and makes me seem like a horrible person for it
In my opinion that's just as bad as what Lilly did with saying he killed but that's just my opinion

It wasn't just the fact that Carley insults her, since lee can call her horrible things in ep one and she doesn't shoot him.
There is a clear change in character for Lilly between episode 2 and 3: she doesn't feel like she can trust anyome, and that is what ultimately led to Carley getting shot.
Lilly even spells this out for you by saying 'I was trying to protect us. I have nothing left..'.
She had become paranoid and neurotic and wasn't a capable leader all because she lost everything she had after her father was brutally killed in front of her. And in all honesty, that would mess anyone up, especially when he's your only family left.
No Carley died because she was mouthing off to lily (not smart but I can't blame her for that) Doug died because he was a hero (he didn't ha… moreve to jump in front of ben) besides if Larry was alive don't you think that when that happened he would've also killed somebody
Lilly murdered a group member because she was pissed. She elected herself as judge, jury, and executioner. She was a dictator with no emotional self control. Kenny killed (finished off) a group member in order to ensure the safety of everyone trapped inside the meat locker. His actions can actually be seen as somewhat heroic, despite how gruesome his actions were. The situations really aren't comparable.
I agree leaving Lee under the door to fend for himself was terrible of him, but in a way its the same thing (figuratively) that Lee does to Kenny in the meat locker if he doesn't help him with Larry. If Kenny wouldn't have handled things on his own in the meat locker everyone likely would have been dead. Lee didn't help save his life in the meat locker so why would he go out of his way to save someone who he feels wasn't willing to help save others? It's a little more complicated then him leaving Lee to fend for himself just because he isn't happy with him.
My main problem with Kenny is not that he isn't a good person - I think he IS a good person - it's the fact that all of his fans regard Kenn… morey as a hero for looking after his family and killing someone to try and help the group, but view Lilly as the devil for doing the same (probably because they think looking after a woman and child is much more respectable than looking after your father, plus the fact that they don't like Larry).
Lilly and Kenny are essentially the same person in different circumstances.
And regardless of whether his decision in the meat locker was right, leaving Lee to die like he did if Lee doesn't side with him was a serious,k serious asshole move.
I saw alot "I hate Luke" threads in TT forum. + When i read the forum "Luke is a traitor, he is a coward, Kenny was a big hero, when he shoo… moret Carver bla, bla, bla.
Almost all Kenny fan hate Luke.
i like Luke. He is a smart character, cold head, etc.
I wouldn't call his actions in the meat locker "heroic" or "selfless", I would classify them as necessary. I can totally understand being pissed with Lee for not helping him, but he leaves Lee to die for it if he does, which is inexcusable. It's about the one act that I, as a Kenny fan, can in no way justify or condone.
I can understand why he would be very upset with Lee in that situation. Kenny didn't want to have to smash Larry's head in, but he knew what… more had to be done in order to ensure the safety of everyone else. I'm sure it wasn't an easy thing to do, he even stated how much he needed Lee's emotional support. If you make him act alone in smashing Larry's head in, it makes him look like a villain even though what he did was actually fairly heroic and selfless.
And that is the biggest reason that I have for hating Kenny. Anyways, what about the dinner scene? For me, Clem and her friends were enjoying a nice meal when Ken came over and started a fight.

So doing what is necessary can't also be classified as heroic and selfless? Why is that? He saved everyone inside the meat locker, and he did it with his reputation as a person on the line.
As for the Lee incident..:
"I agree leaving Lee under the door to fend for himself was terrible of him, but in a way its the same thing (figuratively) that Lee does to Kenny in the meat locker if he doesn't help him with Larry. I never try to defend his actions during the door scene. I can't because that's him being a massive asshole, willing to let Lee die over a disagreement.
And that is the biggest reason that I have for hating Kenny. Anyways, what about the dinner scene? For me, Clem and her friends were enjoying a nice meal when Ken came over and started a fight.
I think it was more of a "See what we have to do to survive here? We need to leave!" rather than a "Gonna tell everyone in the group what we did just to make you distrust us more"
And to be fair If you say "We got what we needed, it was just something that had to happen" Kenny backs you up.
Kind of off topic here, but when Duck got bitten I suspected Kenny to be the one to commit suicide, because the whole game you knew Kenny as the guy who immediately put family first, but even after his whole family is dead he keeps pushing on, kind of like a morbid Thomas the Train with a mustache.
That's odd, because in my Kenny support playthrough, he ratted out to he group that I didn't shoot the girl and makes me seem like a horribl… moree person for it

Nick had already gone out his way to be a dick to Kenny and the entire ski lodge group when first arriving at the lodge. I'm sure Kenny didn't appreciate that.
And that is the biggest reason that I have for hating Kenny. Anyways, what about the dinner scene? For me, Clem and her friends were enjoying a nice meal when Ken came over and started a fight.
No he didn't. When Ken was aiming a gun at them, Nick had every right to be an asshole. Just inside the ski lodge, he had reason to not want to put his rifle away. If Ken can't understand that, then he's a dumbass. Plus, he insulted Luke, too, who did nothing but try to calm everybody down until Kenny started being an asshole directly to him.

How can you just assume that? Larry is a massive guy, and very strong. Even as a walker he would be very hard to deal with. He easily would have killed at least one of them.
Kenny didn't even give Larry the opportunity. What he did was heroic.
This is why I can assume that. If a man can do this with one arm, while he's about to die, he can kill one large walker while he's a little hungry and he has a friend. Killing Larry was murder. It was bad, and horrid. It was no better than what Lilly did to Carley/Doug.

I thought he was just trying to make a joke and it went badly, like his "Peaches and Beans" line. I really don't think he intended to start anything, plus in my game it was Luke and Nick who interrupted me and Kenny.
Wait, did you mean the joke about them being a match, or the talk about Wellington? Because when shit was going down when they were talking about Wellington, yeah, that's all Kenny's fault.
Let me quote myself.

Being heroic isn't doing the things that are necessary for survival. Kenny likely would have died had Larry come back, so it was as much for himself as it was others.
Things he did that are heroic? Going back to save Lee in the pharmacy in Episode 1. Saving Christa or Ben in Episode 5. Hell, even giving Christa and Omid the boat in Episode 4 if he goes with you but they don't. He didn't need to do any of those, but those are areas where he put the rest of the group, or even just an individual, ahead of himself despite having absolutely no reason to do so.

They didn't have any weapons in the meat locker, the situations are not comparable. The best thing they had was a salt lick, and that would have been very hard to use if Larry was moving around. Plus Larry is bigger and stronger than any of the walkers in the video.. not to mention everyone is cramped in a really small room. If Larry got his hands on any one of them, that person would have at the very least gotten bitten.
Again, how can you just assume that they would have been able Larry? Do you really think they should be comfortable taking that chance? Honestly, that's crazy. Especially when you consider they had to watch out for 8 year old Clementine. Kenny prevented anyone from getting hurt. In no way, shape or form, did he murder Larry. He did what was right. Its not even remotely close to what Lilly did. She murdered a group member because she was mad.

I'm not talking about when everyone was outside the ski lodge. Everyone was just looking out for each other's respective groups there. But even after Kenny lowers his weapon, dissolves the tension, AND INVITES HIM INTO HIS HOME, Nick still goes out of his way to be rude. Honestly, it was just stupid. If Kenny wanted to harm them in any fashion he would have just done it outside, and not invited them into lodge in the first place. If Nick can't understand that, then he's a dumbass. Even if Nick still had concerns, he didn't have to be so combative in expressing them.
When did Kenny insult Luke? I honestly can't remember.

Lee had a meat cleaver. That isn't a huge enough benefit to cancel out having both Kenny AND two arms AND saltlicks. Also, they wouldn't have gotten bitten. Somebody, if not, two people could pull them off in time as long as it was anybody but Clem. And we know that Clem can avoid zombies, even in tight spaces.
They would have been able Larry? What the fuck does that mean? They would've been able to revive Larry? Yes, if it involves saving a life, and the risk is not too high (which it wasn't) then you should always go for it. And it isn't crazy. If you do the pumps fast enough, Larry blinks, indicating he lived. Clem can squeeze around zombies. Remember when she (determinately) trapped a walker in a closet, despite having no strength to pull away from him? That means that she lured the motherfucker in there, and shut the door before he could do anything about it. She would've survived. He did not do what was right. Larry was alive. Lilly killed somebody who, either she thought was stealing, while she was paranoid and fucked in the head. Or she killed somebody who jumped in the way. She wasn't right to do what she did either, but she did exactly the same amount of wrong.

What does he say to be rude again, after Kenny invites them in? Remind me. I don't quite remember. All I remember him saying is "What about his gun?" When asked to put his gun in front of the door. I'm not saying he wanted to harm them. I'm saying he's an asshole. He was rude first. He opened hostilities. Nick didn't think he wanted to harm them, he thought he was being an asshole.
Well for one, the "match" thing. Then, the way he said, "A PLACE," in response to Luke's completely valid question. Then, "What's the deal with these guys, Clem?" So yeah, I misworded what I said, he never directly insulted Luke to his face, but he was undeniably an asshole.

When did Kenny insult Luke? I honestly can't remember.
That meat cleaver was good enough to sweep a walker's head right off his shoulders, don't down play its usefulness. It's FAR better than having to deal with a massive walker with essentially nothing but your bare hands. And again, you're just assuming things in thinking that no one would get bitten. How can you just assume that? Lilly was literally on top of the guy trying to revive him, she would have at least gotten bitten. Larry is way too strong for her to be able to pull away. After Lilly gets bitten, the group would have to pin Larry back to the ground so Kenny or Lee could smash his head in with a salt lick. You honestly think that would be a non issue? Are you serious? It's debatably not even possible.
So again, Kenny would have had to be a complete moron to have taken the chances that you were expecting him to take.
You continue to assume things in thinking that the group would have been able to revive Larry. The guy is stone cold dead on the floor for two minutes before Kenny decides to take matters into his own hands. How much more time do you think they should have given him?? Remember how fast David Parker reanimated on the group back at the Motor Inn? It happened extremely fast. Given this one experience with reanimation, how could you expect Kenny to deal with the situation otherwise? He KNEW Larry would be reanimating very soon, simply because he has seen it happen before. Kenny basically gave Larry the maximum "safe" amount of time to be resuscitated. Then he took action and saved the entire group from inevitable harm. He did nothing wrong.

It wasn't just Kenny who opened up hostilities, it was the whole Ski Lodge group. They kind of had to, in order to ensure the safety of their home. Regardless, Kenny is the one who resolves the issue and invites everyone into the lodge. Even in this act of kindness and extreme faithfulness, Nick refuses to put his rifle down once inside the cabin, which is idiotic considering Kenny could have just killed him outside if he wanted to. It would be one thing if he wanted to ask a few more questions about the ski lodge group, but instead he is just rude and slightly belligerent. It was basically a slap across the face considering Kenny was treating him with nothing but kindness. It's completely reasonable that Kenny's patience ran thin with him.
The whole "match" thing wasn't meant as an insult, it was just poorly stated. I honestly don't know why Nick and Luke would be so offended/ defensive about that anyway. Unfortunately I think Kenny allowed his frustrations with Nick to boil over a little bit onto Luke, but overall it really wasn't anything that bad.

Once again you're assuming things. It's a pretty huge assumption to make as well. Why are you so confident that Lee would be able to pin Larry down by himself and also avoid getting bitten in the process? We're talking about a 6-foot-four, 300lb walker here. Lilly may or may not be able to help depending how badly she gets mutilated by Larry when he first reanimates. Even with her help, it would be extremely hard, and certainly extremely dangerous. It isn't a given that things would go smoothly, especially if they panicked. We don't even know if it would have been physically possible for them to contain him. Kenny certainly wasn't confident that they could. Again, it brings us back to the fact of why would they even take these chances in the first place? The risks are far too great, even if you want to just assume that they would somehow miraculously be able to pin down and kill an extremely big and strong walker with almost nothing more than their bare hands.
There is nothing wrong with my attitude. You're the one who went all Nazi over a typo. Sorry that you don't care for my opinion, but I'm not an asshole just because you're wrong about something
YOUR bare hands, and the bare hands of your friend, and a salt lick are good enough. I'm assuming nobody would get bitten because they would… more be more than able to keep them from being bitten. Atleast SOME of Kenny's ideas were the smart choice.
How was the group as big as that going to survive much longer at the motor inn? They needed to move to an area more rich with food for a better chance, instead of staying in a place, living on scraps.
the way season 1 was design you could side with Lilly or Kenny. If you did with Lilly everyone pretty much hates you and you are caught two … moresides and can't really take one with them. If you don't side with Kenny you get abuse from Kenny while stating that his way is the only right way to go about things and that Lee is a scaredy cat that doesn't have guts. so you have to pick one side. If you don't side with Kenny he doesn't help you with anything and you don't get any help from Lilly regardless. If you side with Kenny do everything he wants you to do, his ideas are horrible and you feel you turn into a monster for making bad choices.
I agree they should have left the motor inn what I didn't like was Kenny attacking his moral rights over other people. that's just wrong. his early ideas had nothing wrong about them.

I didn't go nazi over a typo. I emphasized YOUR because the player can accomplish whatever they want in a life or death situation. You have a shitty attitude.
Once again you're assuming things. It's a pretty huge assumption to make as well. Why are you so confident that Lee would be able to pin Lar… morery down by himself and also avoid getting bitten in the process? We're talking about a 6-foot-four, 300lb walker here. Lilly may or may not be able to help depending how badly she gets mutilated by Larry when he first reanimates. Even with her help, it would be extremely hard, and certainly extremely dangerous. It isn't a given that things would go smoothly, especially if they panicked. We don't even know if it would have been physically possible for them to contain him. Kenny certainly wasn't confident that they could. Again, it brings us back to the fact of why would they even take these chances in the first place? The risks are far too great, even if you want to just assume that they would somehow miraculously be able to pin down and kill an extremely big and strong walker with almost nothing more than… [view original content]
I agree they should have left the motor inn what I didn't like was Kenny attacking his moral rights over other people. that's just wrong. his early ideas had nothing wrong about them.

Almost worked. ALMOST. But yeah. There's no truly safe place in The Walking Dead. Get bitten by walkers in the city or taken out by bandits in the woods.
No Carley died because she was mouthing off to lily (not smart but I can't blame her for that) Doug died because he was a hero (he didn't have to jump in front of ben) besides if Larry was alive don't you think that when that happened he would've also killed somebody
Yup.
Hm....
I'm a Kenny fan, but I still like Luke.
Your generalizations wound me
I wouldn't call his actions in the meat locker "heroic" or "selfless", I would classify them as necessary. I can totally understand being pissed with Lee for not helping him, but he leaves Lee to die for it if he does, which is inexcusable. It's about the one act that I, as a Kenny fan, can in no way justify or condone.
If Kenny wouldn't have handled things on his own in the meat locker everyone likely would have been dead. Lee didn't help save his life in the meat locker so why would he go out of his way to save someone who he feels wasn't willing to help save others? It's a little more complicated then him leaving Lee to fend for himself just because he isn't happy with him."
I never try to defend his actions during the door scene. I can't because that's him being a massive asshole, willing to let Lee die over a disagreement.
They wouldn't "likely" be dead. Lee and Kenny could handle zombie Larry.
Nick had already gone out his way to be a dick to Kenny and the entire ski lodge group when first arriving at the lodge. I'm sure Kenny didn't appreciate that.
Let me quote myself.
That was the fight he started. That's just somebody that I wouldn't want to coexist with.
Take solace in the fact that he'll die this Season.
Trust me, I do.
To each his own I guess. It can be argued that what he did was heroic.. just like firefighters are arguably heroic for putting out fires.
He did nothing wrong.
cut Kenny some slack ok he's been threw a lot if I went threw what he did I would kill my self ok his son died right in front of him his wife killed herself also Lilly being up his ass and he almost died trying to get out of the building or ally depends if you save ben and when he freaked out on nick and Luke he did because he losing it I mean I don't blame him and almost everybody in the damn zombie world would be an asshole I mean just give him a break hate me for saying this but I liked Kenny more than lee im sorry guys im just trying to say he's not a bad guy
YOUR bare hands, and the bare hands of your friend, and a salt lick are good enough. I'm assuming nobody would get bitten because they would be more than able to keep them from being bitten. It takes walkers a second to bite. That's the reason Kat didn't get bit. And... You know what? Fuck it. I'm not dealing with an asshole. Clean up your fucking attitude, buddy, then talk to me.
I'm not saying that was te only thing I'm SAYING that that's the straw that broke the camels back
It wasn't just Kenny who opened up hostilities, it was the whole Ski Lodge group.
Atleast SOME of Kenny's ideas were the smart choice.

Agreed. Flawed man in retrospect. I honestly don't like him ... but atleast he had ONE smart idea..
