Saddest video game death?

edited April 2014 in General Chat

its not only about walking dead, i mean generally. Be sure to mark for it if you're going to be listing spoilers (it'd also help if you'd list what game you're spoiling)

Big Boss - Metal Gear Solid-series

  • Other then Lee's death, I found Sgt. Johnson's from Halo 3 heartbreaking as well. Here was a soldier, who had been through the same exact shit you have been, and he dies. He was funny, helpful and was a well developed character that was with you at the start of the trilogy to the end of it.

  • Lee's death is actually the only video game death that was sad to me, the rest seem like they either tried too hard or they just weren't good enough.

  • Lee Death, the only that made me cry. R.I.P lee.

  • Sorry, double post.

1: Lee's Death (The Walking Dead)

2: Sarah's death (The Last of Us)

3: Ezio and Altair's death (Assassins Creed)

  • Honestly Lee's death was the saddest to me. I've seen a lot of sad deaths in games but i have never felt so attached to a character before and for the first time ever i actually cried (as in proper tears were shed) over a character.

I think the only thing that could ever top it for me is if Clementine were to die. That would kill me T_T

Lee was obviously the saddest death as he was such a good character and we knew the implications of his death as Clem was now completely alone.

I was also quite sad for Joe in Mafia 2 as well

  • Altair from assassins creed "all that is good in me began with you father"

Lee, Cole MacGrath, John Marston, the Warden in the Ultimate Sacrifice ending in Dragon Age Origins, Legion (Mass Effect 3), Agro (sort of) in Shadow of the Colossus, pretty much everybody in AC:Black Flag...

Lee is probably the only one that actually gave me anything more than a few sniffs though. That was some legit eyeball-sweat there.

  • Lee is too easy. So, I'd say Sam & Henry from the Last of Us.
Lugo from Spec Ops: the Line
and I guess Jenny too, from the Darkness.

  • Jenny to forgot her definitely even in the scene feel powerless and backstabbed by the darkness so epic brilliant choice thumb

  • Am I the only one who thinks Lee's death was not that sad?

Anyway I think Dom from gears of war was more sad

  • Elizabeth. Probably the saddest life AND death of any video game character ever.

Lee's death is the only one that made me cry. Another honorable mention includes Zack from Crisis Core which made me really sad and shocked me.

  • Thumb agreed forgot about that yeah technically she died their was so many dimensions stuff going on I forgot lol but agreed it was very sad

  • Lee's was sad. Carly's was shocking...but Katjaa and duck's end kinda of made me go...oh my god.... And that covers WD. For everything else: The Boss...and do't judge me..the Peace Walker AI's deaths both got me. As a kid I was sad about General Leo in FF VI. Mordin Soulls and Legion got me...my faves from ME both dead. (I can never shoot Mordin in ME3 like I can never have Kenny shoot Duck) Vivi from FF IX. Galuf from FF V and Tidus from FF X also got me down.

  • Why post this on a Walking Dead forum when you know you're gonna get the same answer from everyone.

    Well, almost everyone.

  • The boss's death from mgs 3 :'( Alt text

Lee's death was the only one that really got to me. His death was the most well written death I've ever seen in a video game.

  • Because you wait for the one guy that says Ben. AND THEN THE PITCHFORKS RAISE!!! :P

    1. Lee from TWD,
    2. Shadow from SA2,
    3. Max in Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse
  • Lee of course. Carley & Omid hits hard too. Dude from MGS1, shadow fox I think, getting stomped on by the metal gear.
