I think you're overreacting quite a bit. Nobody is asking for relationships that take up large parts of the episode, and introducing some relationships here and there could be explained with a single line and then we're on our way. It's more about just knowing these characters like each other that would satisfy most people. No one wants the story to suffer.

Also, the idea that there shouldn't be any relationships because it's the Walking Dead is just ridiculous, not just because the original comic is chock full of relationships and people screwing left and right, but because TWD is not a story that has an important end goal, or some big world saving mission like other stories that throw romance in there just to throw romance in there. TWD is about the human element in an apocalypse, nothing more, and that includes relationships.

I also don't buy this "but it's an action drama" argument. There is action occasionally, yes, but as far as TellTale's Walking Dead goes, a very large part of the focus is and always has been on interpersonal relationships with other human characters. Relationships are just as important to that dynamic in real life (and they especially would be in an end of the world scenario) as just plain talking to someone, or becoming their friend. There is a reason why TellTale's Walking Dead has been lambasted by idiots as being "boring" or not having enough zombies, or not having enough shooting and is just a lot of arguing with people. Because action is not a big focus of the story.

I'm not even particularly arguing for more relationships. Ultimately, I don't care one way or another. I just think a lot of the arguments against their inclusion are either flat-out terrible or borne out of some misguided notion that relationships can only be a distraction and can't be done well. And I look down upon that because gamers once said the same thing about adding children to horror games and stories, and then Clementine happened.

Thanks for seeing my side of the story. Most people defend their ships with every last breath, not realizing not all of us want every singl

  • Look im okay with relationships, its just a lot of these are forced as hell. Kenny-Katjaa Christa-Omid Alvin-Bitchface Carver-Bitchface Rick-Lori Hell even Daryl-Carol (though that one never happened, well its implied they banged in season 3.) These weren't forced and made into some hybrid mutant with dumbass names like Carlee, Lukentine, and stupid shit like that.

I admit I hate romance crap (why I cant watch any action flick, I have to save the world but first let me bang this bimbo I've been flirting with for 30+minutes of the movie who wont be in the sequel) Just leave it be people. Is it that impossible to have female friends you don't want to get all kissy kissy with?

Also if its not an action drama what would you call it? You have your dramatic moments check, You kill something at least once an episode check. ???? I wouldn't call it a horror cause its a sadder universe than it is scary. Sure theres a few jump scares here and there though season 2 hasn't been as good as season 1 was with the jump scares.

Also I wouldn't have made such a "big deal out of it" if the title wasn't so damn misleading. And I know the writers get some inspiration from these forums (episode 4 was almost written straight from the forums) so I will be pissed if the writers start to get shipping fever as well.

Also never read the comics but im sure they handled the relationships in a way that was better than shipping.

EDIT: If I come off as angry try to read it in a different tone. I'm just expressing my theory, not everybody gets the girl.

  • ...why can't two guys who are friends JUST be friends? This is what happened with Kenny and Lee, they're good friends, but that doesn't mean they're doing the nasty together.. I can see shipping Nick and Luke as a bromance, but as a couple? I don't get that vibe at all.
  • Well technically speaking they aren't "normal". Our main role as humans is to reproduce, Man+Woman=Baby. So universally that is whats considered "normal". Again TECHNICALLY speaking. But that doesn't mean it's bad or has to have a negative connotation for not being normal, as humans we can also do whatever the fuck we want...pleasepleasedon'tattackmeforthis.
